Chapter 43 - Chapter 43

Alex POV:

After a restful night at the hotel on Glaps Street, I began the next day with purpose. My secretary, Lyla, had arranged a meeting with the real estate agent, and I was determined to finalize the details.

I donned a sleek dark blue Emporio Armani suit, paired with black leather closed-laced oxfords shoes, and adorned my wrist with a Rolex watch. The luxurious feel of the attire matched my calm, heartless demeanor.

As I entered the Rolls-Royce, Lyla greeted me with a professional smile. The vehicle glided smoothly through the streets, its soft hum a gentle accompaniment to our conversation. We arrived at the designated land, where the agent awaited. After a brief discussion and payment, the documents were handed over to me.

Lyla and I then proceeded to Bason Food Restaurant, where we were greeted by a staff member whose eyes widened in surprise as she took in my appearance. Her gaze lingered, and I raised an eyebrow, accustomed to such reactions.

We were led to a table, and I perused the menu, selecting barbeque ribs, deviled eggs pasta salad, and Bordeaux red wine. Lyla opted for buffalo chicken wings, Tater tots, and strawberry lemonade.

"Tell Jenny to come serve us," I instructed the staff member, my tone firm but polite.

She nodded hastily and departed, leaving Lyla and me to await our meal. The aroma of culinary delights wafted through the air, teasing my senses and building my anticipation.

Jenny POV:

I noticed Tyla entering the kitchen, her breathing labored and her eyes wide with excitement. "What happened to you?" I asked, concern etched on my face.

Tyla turned to me, her gaze fixed on mine, and I sensed a mix of emotions swirling within her. "I saw my celebrity crush," she whispered, her voice trembling.

My curiosity piqued, I pressed for more information. "Your celebrity crush...Alex? You saw him?"

Tyla nodded, her eyes sparkling like diamonds. "Yes, he's so hot, I feel like crying now." She collapsed onto the floor, her dramatic flair on full display.

I couldn't help but laugh at her antics, but my mind began to whirl with possibilities. Annie's words echoed in my mind - he's going to ask you out. My heart skipped a beat as I thought about the prospect.

I quickly composed myself, smoothing my clothes and hair before exiting the kitchen. Scanning the restaurant, my eyes landed on him, sitting with a woman. My face fell, a mix of emotions swirling within me - anger, disgust, and disillusionment.

I couldn't believe my eyes. He was with another woman, not his girlfriend. My mind reeled, struggling to reconcile the man I thought I knew with this apparent womanizer. I hissed, feeling a sting of betrayal, and retreated back to the kitchen, my heart heavy with disappointment.
