Chapter 44 - Chapter 44

Jenny POV:

I entered the kitchen, where Tyla still sat on the floor, her eyes red from crying. I sighed and squatted beside her, my voice firm but gentle. "Stop crying and get back to work."

Tyla's eyes widened, and she slapped her cheek. "Oh no, I forgot to tell you! He ordered food, and he specifically asked for you to serve him."

I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What did he order?"

Tyla relayed the order, and I quickly prepared the dishes, my hands moving with precision as I arranged the food on the trays. I took a deep breath, steadying myself before exiting the kitchen.

As I approached their table, I gently placed the food and drinks in front of them. "I'm sorry for the delay," I apologized, my voice soft.

Alex didn't respond, his piercing blue eyes fixed on me, his gaze unnerving. The woman with him began eating, oblivious to the tension. I felt a surge of anger towards her, but I pushed it aside, my expression neutral. "Enjoy your meal," I said, turning to leave.

But Alex spoke up, his voice low and smooth. "When are you closing from work today?"

I hesitated, my heart racing. "Six pm."

He nodded, his eyes never leaving mine. "Hmm."

I quickly retreated to the kitchen, where the staff buzzed with excitement. "Jenny, I saw Alex Grande! He's so handsome!" Judy exclaimed.

The other staff members chimed in, discussing his flawless skin, blue eyes, and pink lips. Tyla snapped a picture of him and posted it online. "Alex Grande is presently at my workplace (restaurant) eating."

The kitchen erupted into chaos as the noise from outside grew louder. We rushed outside to find a crowd surrounding Alex, screaming his name and asking for autographs. I tried to intervene, but they ignored me, their excitement overwhelming. I felt frustrated, trapped in the midst of the chaos.

Alex POV:

As I prepared to leave, my bodyguards emerged from the crowd, their imposing figures clearing a path through the sea of people. They approached me with a sense of urgency, their eyes scanning the surroundings before handing me a sleek black mask. My secretary, Lyla, received a similar mask, and together we donned them, the soft fabric conforming to our faces.

The bodyguards formed a tight cordon around us, shielding us from the enthusiastic crowd. I glanced over at Jenny, her eyes meeting mine for a brief moment before I turned to exit the store. The sounds of the crowd grew louder, a cacophony of screams and pleas for attention, but my bodyguards held firm, their broad shoulders blocking the entrance.

Once we emerged into the bright sunlight, the bodyguards outside fell into step beside us, their eyes scanning the rooftops and surrounding buildings with a mixture of caution and vigilance. The crowd surged forward, but my bodyguards held their ground, refusing to yield until we had safely departed.

As we drove away, I caught a glimpse of Jenny standing in the doorway, her eyes fixed on me with a mixture of emotions. I turned away, my mind already focused on the next task at hand. The memory of her gaze lingered, however, a haunting presence that I couldn't shake.

Jenny POV:

As I returned to work, I couldn't help but think about Alex's reckless behavior. "Why didn't you put on a mask to disguise yourself?" I asked myself, exasperated. "I can't believe you can be this loose."

Later, my dad approached me, concern etched on his face. "What just happened out there?"

I sighed, recounting the events. "The man I told you about came today to eat here, and because of him, there was commotion."

Dad's eyes widened. "Has he gone?"

I nodded. "Yes, but we're popular now. 'Alex seen at Bason food restaurant in Flakes town' is trending on all social media platforms."

Tyla chimed in, her voice bubbly. "Even the picture I posted has 15k likes and 1k comments. He just made our store popular!"

Dad's eyes sparkled with excitement as he took Tyla's phone to see the post. His mouth dropped open in amazement. "People are asking for the address of my restaurant. Tyla, have you posted the address?"

Tyla nodded. "Yes, boss. We'll need a lot of foodstuffs and some tables and chairs from now on."

Dad smiled, his eyes shining with gratitude. "Yes, Tyla. Thank him for me when next you see him, Jenny."

As they left, I took out my phone and saw the trending post everywhere. The attention was overwhelming.

Lydian POV:

I was scrolling through Facebook when I stumbled upon a post that made me spit out the juice I was drinking. "Alex seen at Bason food restaurant in Flakes town." What was Alex doing in Flakes town? No, it couldn't be. He must have come for that girl. I'll call him.

I dropped the juice and grabbed my phone, my heart racing with anticipation.
