Chapter 50 - Chapter 50

Jenny POV:

As we finished discussing the details, Alex joined my family for a meal. Afterward, I escorted him outside, the warm sun casting a gentle glow on our faces. We stood facing each other, the sound of birds chirping in the distance.

"Don't take my dad's words to heart," I said, my voice soft. "He can be overprotective when it comes to me."

Alex's smile was calm, detached. "I understand. I'll leave now. Take care, and see you soon, wifey." He turned and entered the sleek Rolls-Royce, the man in black following closely behind. The car glided away, leaving me standing alone.

I returned inside, where Dad paced back and forth, his footsteps echoing through the room. "Dad, are you okay?" I asked, concern etched on my face.

"This man...I don't know if I can trust him," Dad said, his brow furrowed.

I placed a reassuring hand on his arm. "Dad, Alex assured us he means well. Believe him."

Granny's voice called out from her room, "I want to see you, dear." I cleaned up and then sat beside her on the bed. "About Alex and you dating for four years...I can't believe it," she said, her eyes wide with surprise.

I shared the truth with her, and her expression changed from shock to understanding. "Fight for your love, dear. I support you both fully. I hope your marriage brings happiness and love that lasts a lifetime."

I hugged her tightly, feeling a sense of relief. I retreated to my room, eager to share my joy with Tasha. As her voice answered, I exclaimed, "Tasha, I have the most wondrous news to share with you!"

"Let me guess, dear," Tasha replied, her tone tinged with anticipation. "Are you finally coming to visit me in the city?"

I giggled, my excitement spilling over. "No, it's even more extraordinary than that. I'm getting married, Tasha!"

The line went silent for a moment before Tasha's voice erupted in a mixture of shock and delight. "What! Who is the fortunate man who has captured your heart?"

I savored the moment, my words dripping with happiness. "Guess, dear Tasha."

Tasha's laughter echoed through the phone. "I can't even begin to guess, Jenny! Wait, is it Tom? Tell me it's not Tom!"

I chuckled, my heart full of joy. "No, it's Alex. And before you ask, I know it's not on social media. He's a private person, but I assure you, our love is real."

Tasha's laughter turned into a gentle teasing. "You're pulling my leg, Jenny! This is some cruel joke, right? Wake up from this dream, my friend!"

I smiled, my voice filled with conviction. "I'm not dreaming, Tasha. I'm living my truth. And you, my dear bestie, will be my partner in this journey. Get ready for a whirlwind of wedding preparations and shopping sprees!"

Tasha's tone shifted from skepticism to excitement. "Wait, you're actually getting married! I thought you were joking!"

"I'm not joking, dear one," I said, my voice firm. "I'm going to come to the city soon, and we'll start planning the wedding of my dreams."

"Finally, I get to see you!" Tasha exclaimed. "I've missed you so much!"

"Me too, dear Tasha. Me too. Bye for now, love you, bestie."

"You too, Jenny. Congratulations again!" Tasha replied, and the call ended, leaving me with a heart full of joy.
