Clarissa kept shaking her right leg as she was sitting in the hospital cafeteria. Her anxiety was at a high peak and the whole cafeteria could sense it. After the talk with Guiellia, Clarissa excused herself and asked for time to think about it.
Tame him? Tame him? Tame a Moon God? Her brain was going erratic over the thought of taming a deity. Clarissa had tamed younger werewolves when she was in the army but they were werewolves they needed to be tamed to survive on the battlefield. How was she going to tame a moon deity?
"Clamy, you okay?" She heard a familiar voice as she looked up at the person.
The person with piercing blue eyes and curly blonde hair was looking back at her. He was dressed well in a loose casual dark gray t-shirt and olive colored baggy trousers. He almost had a very innocent boyish look to him even though he was the same age as Clarissa, he seemed to be in his early twenties. The person standing in front of her was Lucas. Clarissa had known Lucas since she was in elementary school but they were never close until the war had happened. There were three main factions of war from Lizvia led by three of their fiercest soldiers; Clarissa, Lucas, and Serena. The war had these three working closely and the tragedy they went through had made them come closer as a unit.
"What?" Clarissa said completely dumbfounded as he chuckled.
"Gosh. I can't believe you're the same girl who was threatening to kill herself if your father even thought about marrying you off to that vampire and here you are sweating, anxious, and scared that he's is still unconscious." He said as he put the straw in his strawberry milk box and started sipping on it.
"Who's unconscious?" She asked still completely confused.
He looked with shock at her. "Your beloved husband with canine teeth-" She seemed still lost. "Dude! Agathon! Your husband of 27 hours!"
She gasped and paused for a moment. The realization of marriage has not yet sunk into her because of how the event ended she had forgotten that she is married and the fact that Guiellia dropped major secret bombs on her was too much stress for her. Even war did not put her in such a trance.
"Clamy, are you in denial? Do you need to see a psychiatrist? I have a very good friend who owns this institution that has a top-notch-" He stopped with his sarcasm when she put her head onto the table trying with frustration. "Well, this is out of my league." He took out his phone and dialed someone's number.
"Hey, yeah she's losing it. Can you come by?" He said on the phone as he nodded. "Okay. Okay. we are in the cafeteria. Yeah. Okay. Bye." He hung up. He softly patted her head. "Oh you poor, Clammy. You're gonna be fine. We had this discussion, didn't we? You said you trusted him and you said he genuinely wants to make Azurus a place that is good for everyone. Remember how confident you were when you made the decision? Reena and I were shocked, to be honest."
Clarissa slightly tilted her head and looked at him. "I did make that decision." She said and he smiled.
"Yes, you did. You're the one who always says there is no wrong decision, once you make the decision you go through with it." He said and she sat up as she took a deep breath then she looked at her hand. The golden band on her left hand shone lightly as she saw an almost distorted reflection of herself in it.
"You're right. I made this decision and I have to go through with it."
Even if it means I have to tame a deity. She thought to herself.
Just then someone placed a white tote bag onto the table. They both looked up at the green-eyed girl with long wavy hair. "Are you having second thoughts?" She asked Clarissa.
"Serena, she's fine I handled it," Lucas said as he opened the tote and found it filled with different snacks.
"No, if you're having second thoughts. We can run. Lucas and I will go with you."
"Look, she even got supplies." Lucas joked pointing at the bag full of snacks as he took a juice box from it. Serena smacked him lightly on the head and took the box from him. She placed it in front of Clarissa.
"It's for Clamy. Not for you." She said and Clarissa chuckled as she took the box from the table and put the straw in it.
"I'm glad you have a backup plan." Their attention was quickly diverted towards Agathon who was standing a few steps away from Clarissa in a hospital gown with an IV still attached to him.
They did not even realize when he came up behind them. As soon as he made his presence aware both Serena and Lucas went on high alert. It was an instinct for them. They had not come face to face with Agathon during the war but they had lost so many people to him that their inner instinct to fight him was still on.
"You're up," Clarissa said as she stood up and turned to look at him.
"Sorry for causing any inconvenience." He said as he smiled apologetically. "You guys were not at the wedding." He turned his attention towards Serena and Lucas who still seemed wary of him.
"We were heading security around the city," Lucas said.
"Oh. Thank you and I apologize that you had to miss your friend's wedding." Agathon said and Serena glared at him.
"We chose to not be there. " She said as she stepped towards him. "It was her decision so we respected it but we didn't want to be a part of it."
"Serena," Clarissa said in a warning tone.
"It's fine, Rissa," Agathon said, both Serena and Lucas looked at each other with eyebrows raised at the nickname; Rissa. "I respect your decision and I get your sentiments but I assure you both that if she ever feels like she has to run away from this marriage I would make sure no one stands in her way." He said and it was evident that they both were not liking him. They could not put a finger on it but something seems off behind all that 'respectful and good' behaviour.
"Let's get you back in your room," Clarissa said and he smiled at her softly as he nodded. They were both about to leave when Lucas said, "Just so we're clear. We can not trust you."
"I assure you that feeling goes both ways," Agathon replied. "But I trust Clarissa's judgment." Saying that they both started to walk away.
Clarissa turned her head to them and glared at them as they both made faces at her in return. Serena sat down when they both left.
"Did you feel something was off about him?" Lucas pointed out casually taking a bag of chips from the tote bag.
"I don't know." Serena rested her feet on the table as she sat back in her chair with a box of apple juice. "I mean he is a vampire so that is a red flag." She shrugged lightly.
Lucas nodded as he leaned back in his chair. He had a feeling, an uneasiness about Agathon. But again he was a vampire, so he is bound to feel suspicious or uneasy about him. Just a few months ago they were planning to kill him. It made sense but Lucas' gut feeling told him something was still not right.
