Aeneaus has always been the one brother who was the closest to Agathon. Since Agathon was a bit weaker than everyone else, Aeneaus always ensured he protected him from bullying as strength mattered in the Aurelia household. Aeneaus was always there for Agathon until that one day.
Aeneas was just sixteen when he had come across Agathon, his eight-year-old brother brutally sucking the blood out of a servant's baby daughter at the Aurelia castle. The baby's body was shriveled as if someone had squeezed her whole body, there were bruises and cuts all over her body. He had found Agathon's whole face sprayed with blood and his clothes drenched in blood. It took him a moment to realize that his youngest brother had sucked the blood out of the seven-month-old baby after brutally torturing her. He did not believe it at first because a royal vampire does not learn how to suck blood through flesh until puberty. Even Aeneaus learned that at fourteen, so there was no way an eight-year-old could do it. Aeneaus' Moon Goddess; Ayla was as shocked as him. One of Ayla's special abilities was to enter the subconscious of any living being and during that time Aeneuas had been learning that specific skill.
Both Ayla and Aeneaus believed that it was not Agathon who did it but Kavi so they decided to enter Agathon's subconscious and confront Kavi, by the laws of a contract between a Moon God and a human, no Moon God was to hurt another contractor or their Moon God, so at the moment they believed to be safe from Kavi. It was not easy but Aeneaus did enter his subconscious and the scenario in front of him seemed to be out of a horror movie. There was blood everywhere, the whole room was ransacked with everything broken and destroyed. His heart stopped as he forgot his breath when he came face to face with the fiercest Moon God who seemed to be just a prisoner of his eight-year-old brother. He was completely tied up with chains, a knife tied around the corner of his mouth, his body seemed so malnourished that his bones could easily be outlined from his skin. His body was limply hanging with no energy in him, his face was drenched by the blood tears coming out of his eyes. Aeneaus was pulled out right at that moment.
The fear was instilled in his memory as he lost his balance and fell while trying to run away from his baby brother. The blankness and emotionlessness in his eyes and his face drenched in crimson blood made Aeneaus even more terrified as he tried to crawl away but was stopped by an immense invisible force holding him captive. Agathon innocently blinked his eyes at him in confusion while holding him in his grip through yield. Even Aeneaus had not learned to control the yield force yet but watching Agathon like that was even more terrifying to him.
Aeneas was able to run away from him that day when Agathon got distracted by a bee. He rushed to his parents to tell them what had happened but there was no evidence when they went to confirm the situation. The baby Aeneaus had talked about was also completely safe and sound with her parents. When asked from Agathon he feigned confusion and placed Aeneaus in a position of being a jealous brother and was punished for making elaborate stories. He came across more incidents like that but was proven wrong when he tried to get help. Because of this Aeneaus had become a troubled child and was labeled as a liar even his siblings started to think something was wrong with him. His parents had put him in therapy for having a 'brother complex'. He was isolated by the family because they believed it was a phase.
By the age of eleven Agathon had complete control over nineteen-year-old Aeneaus. Agathon took advantage of his isolation and started to confide in him about his deepest thoughts. In reality, those incidents that Aeneaus had seen were mere figments of Agathon's imagination. He wanted to do those things but could not because it would get him in trouble. Kavi was his prison but other than that everything else was just like playing with imaginary friends. Agathon never actually turned these thoughts into realities. He started to confide in Aeneaus because he still believed Aeneaus was his protective loving older brother. It took them some time but both brothers had reached a balance in their relationship. Aeneaus realized expressing his sinister thoughts was a way for Agathon to be able to stay intact with his normalcy, By confiding in Aeneaus, Agathon was able to suppress his thoughts and control his overall energy. Aeneas had since become closer to him and started to learn more about Agathon by himself. To their understanding, for some unknown reason, Agathon has always had immense energy within him that made him superior to others and by his contract with Kavi, he was able to achieve extreme power and advantage over others.
Despite their closer bond Aeneaus still finds him sinister at times but Agathon is still his baby brother despite his psychopath tendencies. But with Clarissa involved in the equation, he knew his brother was up to no good. He had something bigger planned, something so evil that he would not even let his brother in on it. He had been suspicious ever since Agathon started to manipulate everyone into this dream of peace and harmony. He had made sure that his marriage with Clarissa would take place as a necessity from others and not him, making it all seem forced upon him as if he sacrificed something bigger in the name of peace. Aeneaus' shock was immense when he learned that Clarissa was the same girl from college and then when he made Kavi announce Clarissa as his 'bride' in front of both nations. He knew everything was going towards something bigger and Clarissa was some pawn he needed to play his game.
"We can't convince Kavi to let the imprint go?" Aine asked as she broke the silence and brought Aeneus back to the current situation.
"I tried." Agathon said, "But as you can tell for how long I was gone- he is being stubborn." He paused for a moment. "Aeneaus. Why don't you talk to him? Since Ayla can help you reach him?" He asked and everyone's attention went to Aeneaus.
"Sure." Aeneaus acted normally as he walked towards him and placed his hand on his head.
Aeneaus opened his eyes in the dark stone castle room. The room was all destroyed as if someone wanted to create chaos intentionally. Aeneaus studied the room for a moment as he saw the blood all over the stone walls and the floor. His eyes fell on a broken canvas in the middle of the room, on top of the broken table drenched in crimson blood. The canvas was in such a bad condition that there was no way someone could even recognize the painting there was on it. He walked out onto the moonlit balcony as tears almost came to his eyes watching Kavi shriveled up in a fetal position whimpering with pain completely bare on the floor. Aeneaus walked back into the room and pulled off the velvet curtain from the balcony door. He then carefully covered him as sadness glistened in Kavi's eyes and he sobbed in his helplessness.
"He's overreacting," Agathon said as he came out on the balcony drenched in fresh blood. "See he still doesn't fail to summon me in the tub of blood."
"What are you doing?" Aeneaus said.
"What do you mean?" Agathon asked.
"Why did you make a spectacle on your wedding day?" Aeneaus asked.
"Oh, that!" He chuckled lightly. "I needed werewolves to accept her as their leader. Just as I planned they saw how she heroically stopped the big bad demon called 'Kavi' and earned their trust as their leader. She still has more steps to becoming Alpha but we took the first step with a little nudge from me. So we made progress!" He clapped his hands in an 'a-ha!' moment.
"I don't know what you're planning to do but I'm telling you right now, I won't let you hurt her for whatever sick game you're playing," Aeneaus said and Agathon looked at him as if he was offended.
"Oh, no, brother. My only goal here is to shower her with love and care. Give her everything and anything she desires. I want her to be happy." Agathon said and Aeneaus shook his head in disbelief.
"What do you need from her?" He asked.
"See! This is why you're my favorite brother. You know me so well." He put both his hands on his chest showing as if the sentiment had touched his heart. "I want her to madly fall in love with me."
"Why?"
"So I can drown her in it." His eyes beamed with excitement as he looked up at the moon. "So she can sacrifice herself in the name of love. It will be the most beautifully tragic love story."
Aeneaus looked in disbelief as he watched his brother grinning, relishing his insane thoughts. He had been familiar with Agathon's madness for years now but he never realized when the madness had completely transitioned into pure evil.
