Chapter 13 - 13. COUNCIL

Five people sat in a dimly lit conference room. The interior of the room seemed to be very minimalistic and modern. There were four men and one woman in that room.

"Are we sure what we saw was real?" One young man who seemed to be in his early thirties said in a slight Japanese accent. He had dark brown eyes and his hair was nicely slicked back and was dressed in an expensive. His overall demeanor gave a very stern and serious look; although he was the youngest in the room, he still seemed like a person who could take on anyone in the room in terms of intellectuality. "I don't believe that that girl can possess such an ability."

"Why, Kenji, because she is a girl?" The woman who was sitting beside him said. She was beautifully dressed in a turquoise colored hijab and an abaya. The pastel turquoise color of her hijab complemented the deep color of her eyes. The abaya seemed very beautifully adorned with embellishments on its borders, the inner lining was a paste turquoise colored silk fabric that peeked out beautifully in the middle. She seemed to be in her fifties as her nice sharp features seemed to be woven in a  bored expression. Her overall demeanor came off as very elegant and yet very intimidating.

"Arzoo, I am sure that's not what he meant." The man sitting across the added. He seemed like a man in his late fifties and had almost gone bald but still had a few strands resting on his head. His deep purple eyes seemed as if he hadn't had a wink of sleep in some time. He was dressed in a brown burbury suit with checks and had a white crisp shirt underneath. "We don't have anything against her because she is a woman but that child is a bit-" He lit his cigar and was about to take a drag when someone took it from his hand and put it out.

"Erratic?" The man sitting beside him said as he placed the cigar aside. His muddy green eyes fell onto Arzoo as he said, "Don't get me wrong, Arzoo but I agree with Alejandro. She is friends with my daughter but Clarissa has a lot of issues. She can't take orders and tries to do whatever she deems right, her father doesn't have any control over her and to top all that she has to take medications to properly function."

"Joseph, be mindful of the words you use for that child." An old man in his seventies said in a Chinese accent, his voice seemed hoarse which felt like a result of old age. His siver eyes had a very disappointed look in them and said, "It was because of that child all of your children returned home safely from war. Her ability to not follow orders from people sitting in the safety of headquarters was what got us through so far. We may not say it but there was no chance of us standing against the vampires if it was not for her and the other two kids we would have lost Lizvia early on in the war. She has impeccable intellect when it comes to strategy. The way she handled everything on field I truly believe she can lead our people to greatness. As for her medication, it's not easy to lose your mate that early on in life." He took a breath as if remembering his own pain.

"You have not felt that pain but a wolf without their mate is a like broken glass. It's like experiencing death and then reviving from dead. That child's faction was being ambushed when Jun De,  my son and her mate, had been killed. She was in a battle and despite the physical pain she felt she stayed on the field and helped her subordinates. She planned out stragtegies to escape that ambush and made sure everyone got to safety. She could have dropped everything and left right then and there no one could have questioned her because losing a mate the same as losing your purpose in life. But she stayed for her people." The old man leaned back in his chair. "Don't you dare forget for a second that she married the man who killed her mate just so people of Lizvia could . She married a vampire. She is bound to live in enemy territory for the rest of her life. She is a strong woman with a good sense of duty. If you ask she is the only one who should deserves to have those abilities."

Just then the doors opened as Sandro Dominik, Clarissa's father entered. He was followed by Ainar, the head of security for the Dominik family. Sandro walked in and sat on one of the empty chairs.

"I am glad to hear, Mr. Yoon, that you keep my daughter in such higher regard." He said as he settled in his seat. Ainar closed the doors as he stood by it when the meeting started.

The room was not filled by random people, it was a room in which the members of the Werewolf council had gathered; Kenji Nanami, Arzoo Safeena, Alejandro Rodriguez, Joseph Gallaghar, Yoon Yize and Sandro Dominik. They all were gathered in the room to discuss the incident that had happened on the wedding day of Agthon and Clarissa. The culprits of that incident were apprehended at the scene but this was not a meeting for that. It was meeting regarding what Clarissa did and the change in the color of her eyes. However, it was brief she stiil had red eyes for those few moments. To some it was sign of hope while others believe it to be a sign of doom.

The eye color in the packs really helped differentiate which wolf belnged to what pack. For the main packs the eye colors were coordinated as; Dominik; Hazel, Gallaghar; Muddy green, Safeena; Deep Blue, Rodriguez; Deep Purple, Nanami; Dark brown and Yoon; Silver gray. For the other smaller packs, their eye colors were always a mixture of two different original pack as the smaller packs were a result of union between two different original packs. There have not been any werewolves with red eye color in centuries. Red in werewolves represent a werewolf that only existed in legends or the stories that came down with centuries. Everyone in the roomhad heard the stories of the Supreme Alpha. Supreme Alpha was a myth and legend among the people of Lizvia, it was known that a Supreme Alpha was an alpha to every werewolf, he did not have a pack in fact werewolves anywhere in the world were his beta. The prophecy had always depicted the Supreme Alpha as a male figure, so it was embedded in their minds that the Supreme Alpha would always be a man so when Clarissa showed the signs at her wedding there were many eyebrows raised on the question whether she was a Supreme Alpha or not.

During the wedding party, the commotion had brought up something in Clarissa. She had for an instance changed her eyes to red and during that brief moment she was able to control every werewolf present. She calmed them down and made them bow in peace. To make things more complicated to understand she was somehow able to calm the vampires too. That small moment was going to be told to many upcoming generations but at the moment the council was to resolve the confusion and make sure whether Clarissa actually had the potential to turn into a Supreme Alpha and if so then they had made the worst mistake by wedding her off to the enemy territory.

"I know this room is filled with doubt against my daughter but her shortcomings will not change the fact that she might be the one leading us forward in the future. For that we have to make sure to confirm whether she is turning into a Supreme Alpha or not." He leaned back in his chair. "We don't know what other signs there are to look for a Supreme Alpha as everyone is aware we had lost the scriptures centuries ago during the attack on Cecilia."

"It is rumoured that the scriptures are with Vampires." Alejandro added as they all agreed.

The attack on Cecilia happened around three centuries ago. Cecilia was a city of Lizvia and was named after King Ra'shul's beloved wife and his mate. Cecilia was a gift for her and during the time King was out of Lizvia on business, a vampire army had ambushed the city. The odd part of the war was that they put the whole city in locked down for forty three days, they killed werewolves and tortured them through out those forty three days. King Ra'shul had tried everything to invade beyond their barriers but it was a lost cause because their barrier was too strong infront of Lizvian witches and warlocks. After forty three days the barrier was lifted. Everyone was dead in the city, the werewolves, the witches even meek humans. After losing his beloved wife and his people King Ra'shul went on a blood shed path, he ambushed Alman and conquered three of their cities that were now a part of Lizvia. It was believed that the King had lost his sanity as hurting the enemy did not heal his wounds to losing his wife in such a brutal way. He had started to imitate vampires. There were sightings of him attacking his own soldier and trying to drink their blood, there were also some people who said they had seen his eyes turn to red in color but these were not confirmed but just some Chinese whispers stemming from the fact that the king had actually gone insane. He had burnt down his palace and everyone in it. It is believed the scriptures containing the information on werewolves were also burnt in it. This was also not confirmed with evidence but with the timeline the histrorians had collected it was very much possible that the scriptures were either taken or burnt down during the attack on Cecilia.

"The scriptures could be with them. This is why I am going to put Clarissa on a mission to find them." Sandro said, "Since she is going to stay there she can get access to scriptures and more information that we had been missing on vampires."

"I have an objection to this." Arzoo raised her hand. "If Clarissa is a potenial Supreme Alpha isn't it stupidity to hand her over to the enemies. I think we should try to keep her in Lizvia if we want to learn more about the situation."

"That could have been possible before the wedding. But now if we try to pull back Clarissa, it can easily come off as werewolves are trying to back off from Azurus. We can't have that because that would resume the war and we are almost out of resources to fight another war at this time. On the other hand Vampires are still well-prepared. This way we won't even lose the war but the scriptures too."

"But she has become an asset now. We can't afford to send her to the enemies. What if they turn her to their side?" Joseph added and Sandro scoffed.

"Are you actually worried she would do that?" Sandro replied.

"I actually am worried about that." Kenji said as he leaned forward. "I was told they had uninvited the Safeena cousins who were her childhood friends from the wedding party and the reception because they were disrespectful towards Agathon."

"She did?" Sandro's eyes sparked with curiosity and somewhat excited. "I am glad she did. I'm sorry Arzoo but your girl's should not have been gossiping about the groom on his wedding. There is no way the bride could overlook that especially when the groom himself had mentioned this to her." He chuckled. "My daughter is a strong and beautiful woman. Are you actually doubting her because she defended her husband? If she had shown them that she did not care about it and would just let anyone do that do you think she can gain the Aurelias' trust? She is not stupid. She is going to live with the same people whom she had tried to kill or who had tried to kill her. Do you think it is going to be easy? She needs them to know even if there is no love in between them there is atleast some respect. She has to make a place in that filthy household with those blood sucking monster." Tears edged his eyes as he paused for a second.

"You guys have such nerve to raise questions on my daughter's loyalty. We were in this same room when each and everyone of you backed off when the idea of marriage was purposed for the chance of our survival. No one wanted their sons or daughters linked to those people. I sacrificed her for our people. Don't make me want to regret my decision. Don't make me think that I ruined my relationship with my daughter for people who have no faith in her." He stood up from his seat. "My daughter is not a coward. She knows her duties and her responsibilities to Lizvia. She is a soldier and if she is to become a leader for our people and us, she does not have to be under microscope here in Lizvia. This meeting is over." Sandro said as he walked to the door.

Ainar opened the door for him and Sandro was about to leave when he stopped.

"She is not talking to me right now. But if I know anything about my daughter, I know she already has multiple strategies and plans on how she is going to infiltrate the Aurelia castle and take over Alman. She will have more control entering the enemy territory and won't be shakend up by it."
