The night was a bit cold as the moon looked over the vast garden. Aeneas had his earbuds in as he sat on the bench enjoying his night. He was not blasting music in his ears but he was pretending so that others won't disturb him. Aeneas has always found his happiness in solitude. Unlike his identical twin Flavius, Aeneaus would prefer being out of the spotlight or any sort of attention. He found comfort in his presence and of course his Moon Goddess, Ayla.
"Have you thought about what you are going to do?" He heard Ayla's voice in his head as he smiled and shook his head in a 'no'.
He had confidently told Agathon that he won't let him hurt Clarissa but he did not know how he would do it. Agathon has always been a mystery to him, the more he tried to understand him, the more confused he got. He had given up on understanding Agathon's mentality years ago because he just wanted peace in his life. In all honesty, whenever he tried to expose Agathon he was always blindsided and would always end up coming off as an attention seeker. If he would try to understand and help Agathon, Agathon would somehow get him involved in his sick games and leave him to take all the blame for himself.
Aeneas was so tired from doing the right thing that he just gave up on it. It was also during that time he started to spend his time in solitude and just stayed somewhere in the middle so that people would know he existed but not that much that the spotlight would fall on him. He had been holding himself back but now things were bigger than just the Aurelia family, if something were to happen to Clarissa it would become a political issue that could start another war. Aeneaus did not know what twisted game Agathon was playing with the facade of this marriage but he could not just let him off the hook this time and there was no way his family would back him up so he was on his own.
And there was another issue he had to deal with….
He felt someone cover his eyes softly and he smiled as the warm hands made contact with his cold skin. "Guess who?" The cheery feminine voice said.
"I'm gonna guess- the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on." He lightly joked as she lifted her hands from his eyes and walked around the bench.
"I believe I have found the wrong brother yet again." She joked and he chuckled as she sat beside him.
"So you've already met the charming twin?" He said as he took the earbuds out and placed them in the case avoiding her eyes.
"Duh." She replied as he quickly turned to look at her.
She could have been a bit subtle about it. He thought to himself.
"I'm sitting with him." She said as she looked around observing the darkness that enveloped them. It was clear to her that Aeneaus had intentionally picked a dark corner to sit in as if he was trying to isolate himself from everything.
"And what did you think about the other twin?" Aeneas asked.
"Does that matter to you?" She asked meeting his eyes and he just stared into her eyes for some time sitting in that silence.
Solitude. He has always loved solitude and he hated when people tried to enter his safe space, his silence, and his peace. But peering into her eyes now he felt that was all the happiness he needed. He chuckled softly as he broke eye contact.
"What are you doing, Leah?" He asked looking at the moon.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Why are you here sitting with a vampire? When you could be inside that palace looking for potential mates." He said and she chuckled.
"As if finding a mate was that easy." She said as she turned to him moving a little closer to him. "Look at me." She said as he lightly turned his head to look down at her.
She indeed was the most beautiful woman he had ever laid eyes on. Her red thick hair fell onto her pastel pink colored dress made with simple cotton. Her breathing was soft as her muddy green eyes stared into his crimson eyes with a bit of curiosity. She softly held his face with one hand as she leaned forward to close the distance between them with a simple kiss that lasted for a few seconds.
She pulled away and looked at him. "Do you feel that too?" She asked placing her hand on his chest feeling his heartbeat getting faster. He nodded and she smiled, "I'm trying to explore it." She replied.
He sighed softly as if he gave up on everything holding him back and reached his hand behind her neck and pulled her in as he locked his lips with hers.
This time it was a bit intense as their lips indulged in a soft dance. In that moment under the moonlight time stopped for these two people as they melted deeper and deeper into each other, relishing each other. Aeneaus placed his hands behind her neck holding her in place as she rested one hand on his chest and the other one holding on his wrist. He pushed his tongue into her mouth and she pulled away from him trying to catch her breath.
"You didn't like that?" He asked and she just shook her head as she stood up and sat into his lap.
"I think I liked it too much." She said as she held onto his face and started kissing him more intensely, thrusting herself into him. She could feel him against her as she started to straddle herself into his lap.
The urgency. They both felt it. They both have been feeling it ever since they laid eyes on each other. It was something new, something very different, it felt as if they were falling for someone for the very first time. As if it was their first ever time getting feelings for someone. It felt so new, so beautiful and so different to both of them.
Getting caught up in the moment Leah pushed further into him letting her tongue dance around in his mouth as his hands slipped behind her back and entered the maze of ribbons that was holding the dress tightly around her body. Leah moaned softly as she thrust her hips more into him moving her hands into his hair. She pulled her tongue out as she roughly sucked on his lower lip digging her teeth into it.
Panic filled her as soon as she tasted the metallic blood on her tongue. She quickly pulled away.
"Fuck. Fuck. Fuck." She said she looked at his lip trying to find the wound she had inflicted but it seemed the wound had already completely healed.
"Is something wrong?" Aeneas asked in confusion.
"I bit you." She said in panic as all sorts of panic alarms blared in her head. Aeneas read her expression and then started laughing loudly as he wrapped his arms around her waist and rested his head on her chest. He closed his eyes as he let out a sigh.
"I'm fine," Aeneas said in a low voice.
"Are you sure?" She asked.
"You believe a little bite can take me out?" He asked.
"Isn't werewolf bite poisonous for vampires?" She asked and he nodded still holding her and hugging her.
"It is but I have a better immunity to it." He said.
"Yeah?"
"Yeah." He said and although she was still panicking she let a breath out and rested her head on his hair as she hugged him back.
It was true that werewolf bites were poisonous to werewolf bites but it was a different story for the original vampire families. A common vampire had its soul infused with demons and the Moon God curse was something that fought against demons, it may have been a curse but it came from spiritual and celestial beings. As for original vampires, they were blessed by Moon Gods through contracts so a curse against the blessing was not effective.
He pulled back as he looked up at her. "Let's explore this." He said holding her face with one hand. "But let's do that at a slower pace."
She chuckled lightly as she nodded. She held his face with both her hands and said, "I'm sorry I ruined the mood."
He laughed, "You can tell I'm still in the mood." He said coyly as she smiled and nodded. "Let's take it slow and see where we'll go. Also, this dress is very complicated, I don't think we would have gotten anywhere with it anyway." He joked as she got off him and straightened her dress out.
"I would have let you tear it off of me." She shrugged as he stood up. "But good thing we're taking things slow, now I get to keep it."
"You are very cruel." He replied and she laughed lightly.
He took her hand and he kissed the tips of her fingers. "I'm leaving tomorrow morning but I hope to see you for the wedding reception in a week?" He said and she nodded. "I promise to keep thinking of you."
She smiled as she pulled her hand back. "You also have a dance promised." She said and he chuckled.
"And I intend to keep that promise." He said.
"Good." She said as she stepped forward and awkwardly waved at him. "So, I'll see you around. I guess." She was about to move away from him. He held her wrist to stop her as he stepped towards her and planted a soft kiss on her forehead.
"Good night." He said.
"Night." She said as she walked away from him.
When Aeneas knew she had walked away far enough for her to not hear him he said, "It's not polite to spy on your older brother especially when he is with a lady."
"I was not trying to spy." Aine stepped forward from behind a tree. She was dressed in a black glittery bodycon dress that fell below her feet.
"Are you actually into that wolf?" She asked setting the curls in her black short hair reaching just above her shoulders.
Aine was the second last child from the Aurelia family. Although Agathon was the youngest, Aine was the baby of the family. Everyone including Agathon treated her as the youngest and pampered her where she did like the attention, she was always underestimated for her abilities.
"I don't think that is your business." Aeneas was firm when he spoke.
"I guess not." She fake pouted as she looked around. "But you know something that no one knows. I like to get in on it."
"Awww is no one giving attention to our baby?" Aeneas said sarcastically.
"Seriously?" Aine rolled her eyes.
"Yes. There is no conspiracy. I'm just attracted to her." He shrugged his shoulders.
"Yeah?" Aine asked.
"Yeah," Aeneaus replied and she smiled.
"Well, I guess you're not the one who took the scriptures from the family vault." She said as he turned to look at her. It was clear from his expression that he was shocked by the information.
"Oh. so it wasn't you?" She gave him a grin.
"What scriptures are we talking about?"
"I think you may have an idea." She said as she looked around trying to sense if someone was around. "Let's talk about it at home." She walked towards him as she patted him on the shoulder. "It's better to not mingle with a wolf right now. Things can get complicated for you."
