Chereads / Warriors of Azurus / Chapter 12 - 12. UNTIL HE'S RUINED

Chapter 12 - 12. UNTIL HE'S RUINED

Agathon was dressed in a traditional Almanian black-colored long tunic with golden embellishments over it and a pair of simple black trousers. His black hair was nicely done and his face was healthier now with a bit of red tint to his face even his crimson eyes were now flourishing.

He was standing by the small balcony looking over the whole hall. His eyes scanned the people as he looked at Clarissa standing by the three women who had been talking about Agathon during the wedding party. Agathon although did not mind them as it was inevitable for werewolves to not like vampires. Out of curiosity, he focused his hearing on them as he realized that  Clarissa was defending him in front of them. She was basically uninviting them from further wedding festivities.

"You already have her under your spell, huh?" Aeneaus said as leaned forward to the railing of the balcony looking towards Clarissa and the other girls.

"I don't know about her but you are certainly under someone's spell." Agathon said keeping his eyes on Leah. Aeneaus turned his head to Agathon as horror spread in his eyes.

"Don't worry I'm not interested in your life. Do whatever you want." Agathon said as his eyes turned to Clarissa, "I have someone new I want to have fun with." There was this very cynical look in his eyes as he had said those words. "I'm gonna go say 'hi' to my beautiful wife."

He went downstairs and slowly approached them as he greeted the other guests in the way. He paused as he was standing right behind them.

If Agathon can attack and almost kill one of his vampires in front of everyone because that vampire disrespected me. I think the least I can do is uninvite the people who were being disrespectful towards him. My marriage with him might not be out of love but I have respect for him and his morals."

"I truly appreciate that." All of them were shocked as Clarissa and Leah turned to see Agathon standing behind them with a pleased smile. He smiled at Clarissa and bowed lightly to Leah as she bowed in answer.

"Thank you." He said to Clarissa as he held her hand and brought it to his lips as he kissed the back of her palm. He then held onto her hand as he looked at the three girls. "I must apologize but my wife must have made this decision after much consideration. I can't have any say in it because I trust her judgment."

He turned to Lacey. "How is your father doing now?" He asked.

"He is doing better ever since he took the medicine you brought," Lacey replied and the whole group was shocked and confused as they looked in between them.

"I'm happy to know that." Agathon smiled. "As for what my wife said, we would be happy to have you there if you want but we would respect your decision if you don't show up." Lacey simply nodded.

"I have something to discuss with Clarissa right now. But I will stop by before leaving for we leave for Alman." He said as he turned to Leah. "Leah, would you be kind enough to show my brother around? I think he's a little confused." Agathon said as he gestured towards Aeneaus standing by the stairs awkwardly smiling as some older man was standing there talking to him.

"Oh! I would love to!" Leah said as she waved towards Clarissa and walked towards Aeneaus.

"It was nice meeting you all," Agathon said to the women and then turned to walk while holding Clarissa's hand.

As they reached out to the hallway, Clarissa pulled her hand away.

"When did you get here?" She asked.

"Just now. Aeneaus called that you wanted to talk to me and I was already getting discharged so I thought we should talk in person." He replied. "I was thinking of leaving tomorrow but by the tone Aeneaus gave me I believe you don't agree with that."

"I don't!" She said, "My dad has already planned the wedding party and preparations are done we can't just leave." Clarissa said and he nodded.

"Okay. We can stay. I'll talk to my mother." He said as he smiled.

"Okay- cool," Clarissa said as there was an awkward silence between them.

Agathon chuckled as he watched her standing there awkwardly. "Thank you again for doing what you did in there. It means a lot to me." He said.

She shrugged it off. "Well, we are married if someone is talking bad about you that means they are disrespecting me too." He smiled as he nodded.

Just then Clarissa's phone vibrated in her hand as she sighed.

"What?" Agathon asked.

"I had a few things that I ordered online and it was supposed to come by the day after the wedding but we were too busy so no one accepted the package when they brought it. The servants couldn't accept packages without my or Dad's approval so they sent them back. I have to go pick it up." She said.

"Do you want me to come with you?" He asked.

Clarissa shook her head. "It's fine. I'm still not very used to having you around so I prefer going alone." She replied.

"This would be a good exercise to get used to each other's company," Agathon said.

"Yeah. No. I would do that when we're in Alman. I'd love to stay in denial until then." She said as she started to walk away from him and laughed as he waved bye to her.

_

Clarissa was discreetly dressed in a black hoodie and black trousers as she entered the dark alleyway. She went to the metal door at the end of the alley and knocked on it in a coded way. Knock. knock. There was a pause of three seconds and then another knock.

The door opened itself as she entered into a sort of clinic that was empty. It seemed like a shady illegal facility as she walked through the lobby and entered a room. The room seemed similar to a doctor's office and behind the table, a woman in her forties sitting in a comfortable chair completely silent as she stared right at Clarissa. She was dressed in a very loose robe-like dress, with their hair tied in a messy bun. She seemed somewhat sickly judging by her weka physique and pale skin.

"Maveric," Clarissa said and Maveric just nodded acknowledging her presence. It seemed as though the woman was mute and blind.

"You're here!" A little teenage boy said as he came out from behind a door inside the room. He had familiar features to the woman but he was a bit healthier than her. "Mom has made the pills you asked for. It took a lot of her energy." He said as he walked to one of the cabinets. "As you can see she has lost her sight, her youth, and her ability to speak. And we all know she loves to talk." He gave the glass bottle of pills to Clarissa.

"Is she going to be okay?" Clarissa asked.

"Yeah. but it will take a bit longer for her to recover properly." He said as he gestured for her to sit.

"Okay. Precautions; do not keep it in a warm space. The pills have to stay in that glass bottle, if you take one out you have to immediately swallow it so you have to be very careful with it. The pill would explode otherwise."

"Explode? Are you serious, Evan?" Clarissa asked.

"Oh, I haven't even told you about the possible side effects," Evan said as he sat in a nearby chair and took out a small notebook from his pocket.

"Side effects?" She asked.

"Migraines. Leg cramps. Nightmares. Intense sexual desires. Hair loss. Well, you know what take it." He tore two pages from his notebook and handed it to her.

Clarissa looked at the pages and was a little taken aback when she saw both pages were filled from front and back.

"That's a lot." She said.

"These are possible side effects but it is black magic. It comes with a price." Evan said in a soft tone. "Are you sure you wanna do this?" He asked. "Revenge is never the answer."

"If I don't do this I won't be able to live with myself." She said looking at the bottle filled with purple colored pills. "This will work the same?" She asked.

"Yeah. It is made by the same magic. You will be able to manipulate your memories and thoughts and show any vampire whatever you want to show. This magic is too strong and will work against Agathon and his family. One pill would last for two weeks."

"You're going to do this?" He asked. "I truly believe Agathon is up to something good with Azurus. Your plans can ruin lives."

"I don't care." She said as she looked at the bottle in her hand. "I'm going to ruin him. When I am done with him and his family, he won't know what hit him. His dreams for peace, his will to live, and his family. I will ruin everything and when I am satisfied by watching him suffer then, then I will end his life."
