"Oh my gosh, no you are kidding. Is it April first today," said Keele struggling to lower her voice. Kilin pressed her finger on her lips gesturing for her to keep quiet. She grabbed her arm and dragged her away.
"I will tell you everything. Just keep it down," she said and Keele contained her excitement.
While she was dragging her through the school gates a black Maybach drove by. Inside Wyatt was resting his temple on his hand as he hadn't slept well. His eyes were closed and his expression tranquil.
Beside him was one of the most beautiful girls at school with a warm, inviting smile and long, flowing locks of shimmering hair that flowed down her back. Her fingernails that were pinching the hem of her school uniform in nervousness were delicate and well well-manicured had a kind heart and a soft-spoken personality, often remaining quiet in large groups but glowing in one-on-one conversations, where she was a fantastic listener. She was gentle and easy to get along with. It is no wonder why every guy at school was drawn to her.
But despite her gentle nature, she also had a sharp mind, often scoring high on exams. She was also the tennis captain and a former prefect from the last school year. In other words, she was the image of perfection most parents would tell their children to emulate.
While her chauffeur was driving her to school today their car broke down and Wyatt happened to help her out. Her head lowered she whispered, "Thank you for your help today," as the car came to a halt.
"En," he replied as the door opened.
The driver had been the one who opened the door for her before saying, "Young miss."
After that, she stepped out of the car and accepted her school bag. "Thank you."
As soon as she stepped out of that car the students around were surprised their gossiping hearts itching to share on the forum. By the time Luna got to her new class, it had already spread all over the school. When she entered the class they all glanced in her direction while whispering.
Meanwhile, Kilin was on the fire escape staircase with Keele showing her the messages. Keele was giggling while reenacting the messages. When she was reading Kilin's message her voice would be high pitched and when she read Wyatt's message she deepened it a little.
"Will you stop? I don't talk like that," said Kilin her face as red as the cherry on a sundae.
A sudden creaking sound echoed through the stairwell. Startled, both of them froze in place, their eyes widening. The pair who knew that they weren't allowed to be there squatted on the ground waiting to see if it was a teacher or another student.
There was a click and soon the faint smell of smoke tickled their noses. Keele's face contorted into a grimace.
Because she battled with chronic sinus problems the pungent smoke immediately irritated her delicate nasal passages. She tried to stifle her sneezes and Kilin covered her mouth. Keele took a few breaths and for a moment it seemed like they were going to be safe but the sneezes erupted in rapid succession, echoing through the otherwise silent staircase. Each sneeze seemed louder than the last, and dread washed over their faces as heavy footsteps started approaching from above.
Before they could react, the figure of their stern chemistry teacher aka the bald eagle emerged at the top of the flight of stairs, his eyes narrowed with an intense gaze. Kilin and Keele exchanged panicked glances, realising they had been caught red-handed.
Their teacher's voice boomed with disappointment his cigarette still lit and pinched in between his fingers. "What on earth do you think you're doing? This is no place for idle chatter and sneezing fits! Come with me, now!"
Reluctantly, Kilin and Keele followed the bald eagle down the hall, their hearts pounding. They were led to the teacher's office, where they anticipated an earful of reprimands and flying spit. Yes, when he yelled he would spit everywhere.
"... you are seniors now and should be studying instead of giggling in the staircase. Your chemistry results were less than impressive last year. With those kinds of results what sort of university will accept you....,"
While he was yelling Kilin slowly raised her head and glanced at the door. Coincidentally she met Wyatt's eyes as he passed by the teacher's office with a group of his friends.
Her breath stagnated her heart pounding hard in her chest. She was a little embarrassed being seen by him in this kind of situation. She immediately averted her gaze and completely missed the way Wyatt looked at her like a stranger.
There was no spark in his eyes or any form of interest in her. Kilin who was stuck in a trance suddenly snapped out of it when the teacher hit her with a rolled-up exam paper.
"... are you listening? You know what get out of here. I will be having a word with your parents," he said before waving them off.
The pair didn't need to be told twice. They left that office so fast you would think there was oil underneath their feet.
They didn't dawdle after that. They rushed to their class before assembly and when Kilin ran in she recalled the fact that she was now also in class one which happened to be the same class as Wyatt.
Her steps faltered when she saw the group of boys at the back of the class chatting it up. When she stopped abruptly Keele who was behind her bumped into her.
She was about to ask what was wrong when Kilin pushed her outside and whispered, "He is in there," her cheeks stained with a light flush.
"Who?" replied Keele having not caught on yet. Kilin's eyes widened her expression seeming to say 'duh, who else'.
"Oh shucks. I forgot. Go in before assembly maybe you can even pick a desk closer to him," said Keele pumping up her friend.
After two minutes of trying to talk herself into it, she gathered all her courage and walked over to the back of the class. With each step she took her nerves gripped her tighter, but she couldn't let that stop her. She had to speak to her boyfriend.
