"And soon enough, I was treated well. Those people are what run this place nowadays, and I owe my life to 'em. I may have resigned myself as a Soldier, but I became a sheriff instead, if at the very least to thank them." The cowboy would finish, capturing the awe and intrigue of Harvard and Zazel, with Stolas smirking besides him.
"So wait, wait, wait. You killed off an ENTIRE Kingdom!?" Harvard would ask, stunned by the fact he lived from such a demise. Ennio nodded to answer the child's question.
"Wasn't easy, either. Having to deal with those men, the man himself, and escaping it all at once. I was practically fighting for my life, and yet, I wouldn't have it any other way. Plus, had it not been for one of my friends, I probably wouldn't have made it."
"Wait, huh? What do you mean by that?"
Ennio made his way to the picture frame that held him and his fellow soldiers that had to fight on. His finger pointed to a woman with a mask upon her face, stylized like she was going to a ball. She wore herself a cape, alongside her standard uniform that everyone else seemed to be wearing, complimenting her figure smoothly. The colors in the picture were washed out, nothing else but black and white, so understanding the colors they had were out the window. "This is Ammani. Honestly one of my closest friends during that time, and also one of the strongest. That cape she wore? It was effectively an inheritance I got when she passed away. An Artifact known simply as God's Skin. It was effectively a shield that is measured up by my energy. Higher it is, higher the defense. Without that, I would've been dead six ways from Sunday." The demon and the card magician listened with keen interest as Harvard examined the photo more. Ammani, was she? He wondered what she was like during that time, and wondered just as much how she feels if she knew her friend did the job with success.
"So wait, what WAS Ammani, anyway?" Zazel asked, to which Stolas would answer instantly.
"Oh she's an absolute BEAST of a fighter! Here, let me show you something!" Stolas would then grab Zazel by the arm and drag him out, much to Zazel's concern of where he was going, with Harvard hearing his noises and following swiftly, with Solomon and Ennio in pursuit from behind. Stolas would have Zazel be dragged across the halls into a flight of stairs, bringing them upwards to what looked to be a library. The small space was packed with books and film reels, with Stolas snapping his fingers to create a star-like set of stairs. He'd let go of Zazel to let him explore as the Space Sorcerer looked through the numerous papers and books. Harvard would be the third to enter, trying to keep away from the dust and debris, before noticing the Film reels. He'd try to take one and see if there was a device to play them, a Projector. Solomon was the fourth to enter, having Shady extend itself to search for anything to sit on so that they could see the evidence comfortably, while Ennio waited upon the entrance. "GOT IT!" Declared the Avian, as he'd get down from the steps and pull what looked to be an album of some sorts.
The boys all gathered, with the Shadow pulling what looked to be chairs to have them sit and watch the album itself. From the people's positions in the photo's, it looked to be a training ground. Soldiers of different sizes and outfits, casting a variety of different styles of magic. One was able to create a hole upon the very earth. Another was seemingly in Mid-air with the very clouds acting as a platform. From that photo, was that very woman, donning the cape and having some sort of fluid made into a solid substance, all coming out from her very hands. One was like a claw, while the other was a whip. "Wooooah....What is she even doing over there? It's like water over there!" Harvard would ask, with Zazel turning to Stolas for an answer.
"Oh that's not water. That's blood!"
"Sorry, What?" Zazel and Harvard asked this question unanimously, having a shocked expression when they first heard it.
"He's not lying. That's her own blood right there. She had holes made in her hands to blast it off like a water gun. Its really creepy, but effective." Solomon added, with Shady doing visuals by creating a hand and adding the holes when directed. Harvard was bewildered, yet curious at how she did such a thing. Zazel only had a face of horror when he put the pieces together.
"Wait, wouldn't that mean she could've gotten herself murdered then if-"
"Mhm! And THAT is why she's the best one out of that photo! She knew it would kill her, yet did it anyway! THAT is a sign of being a Man right there!"
The boys turned to Stolas once more, with Zazel doing a double take. "Sorry, huh?" They asked, to which Solomon and Ennio chuckled a bit.
"Don't mind him, That's his usual thing. He wants to be a man when he grows up. In this case, he probably means being brave or something."
"AM I WRONG THOUGH!? Look at her!" Stolas answered with pride as he points at her face. "Look at how relaxed she is at this! Look at how she is handling it! That is a sign that I wanna do! One who would look at danger DEAD IN THE EYE and tell them to pull the trigger!" Stolas became further dramatic by getting close to the newcomers, his talon pointing at his face, causing Harvard to laugh loudly at how intense it was. Stolas and Zazel followed suit, enjoying themselves as they kept looking, however, a cleared throat sound from Ennio would signal them.
"Sorry for bothering a look into the past, but shouldn't y'all be doin' them missions? The papers are still there." Such a statement caused them to realize and pause themselves, allowing Shady to put back the book as the four kids rushed down, preparing themselves a bit.
"Aye WOAH WOAH WOAH! RELAX YOURSELF EVERYONE!" The Shadow declared, but it fell on deaf ears when the kids rushed down and got busy with preparing.
