Chapter 45 - Chapter 45: The First Mission

"So, The both of us are gonna be doing this quest, while the others are doing the robbery?"

"All while being in unknown territory, yep."

Such was the conversation between the likes of Zazel and Solomon. Zazel would sigh a bit, but was feeling a bit more optimistic. It was supposedly a challenge made between each other, trying to see which team gets done the most, all while making it the biggest spectacle around. Stolas and Harvard would be occupied with the aforementioned robbery, leaving him and Solomon to deal with the likes of Royalty. As they walked by the odd stonework that acts as the buildings, as well as preparations nearby of the specific mission made in advance, Solomon would pose a question to Zazel. "So, you ever had any experience with being in the presence of Kings and Queens?"

"Kinda? Usually I don't like those types of things though. Too many responsibilities, Y'now?"

"Yeah well, nobody expected a prince or princess to live life large. Kinda curious what problems they have now."

"Now? You mean this was a recurring issue??" Solomon nodded quickly to Zazel's question as he explained further.

"You'll see what I mean soon, but known this. Whenever the king wants something for his kids, he ALWAYS has his citizens cover him. It ranges to all sorts of things, from letting one of them play 'Treasure Hunting' with the fishermen, to annoying Ennio with his son wanting to play Cowboy." Zazel would raise an eyebrow at this. Surely someone isn't this bent over at such desires. It's almost egregious, for the most part. He could still name whatever that King was back at the forest that was the pinnacle of being the most annoying thing on earth. As they conversed, they'd quickly made their way into the supposed castle of the land, which was exactly as Zazel would envision when first seeing it high up above: Monuments and Stones in such a peculiar shape and size that one would assumed it was destroyed. Ruins in a distinct Cubism style.

The soldiers that trek across the sands wore leather and cloth to make up for the sun's rays not pushing them to exhaustion, an oil that covers their body so as to prevent them from being sunburned, letting them glisten within the light as if they were statues out of wax. The more Zazel looked around, the more he realized the soldiers weren't the only ones being given such coverage: The Chefs, the Servants, the Stonemasons, and even the very king and queen themselves. They were all covered in such an oil that protects them, allowing Zazel further knowledge that such was the way they lived, from dawn 'til dusk. What's just as odd was that they were seen enjoying themselves, communing with one another, almost as if they knew one another and lived like relatives. When he and Solomon arrived to the King, where he rested upon his hammock with his queen by his side, the two would quickly make their presence known. "Ah...Mister? We're here for the quest you assigned!"

The King was the first to notice, having a lean build, yet carrying a 6 pack upon his abdomen, adjusting himself so he could meet the kids face to face. The man wore yellow, baggy pants, which somewhat coupled well with his tan skin, though what was mostly peculiar was his chest and face. His chest had a scar that went from his heart to his stomach, and his face was given an outline to match that very scar, from his forehead to his bridge of his nose, designed in the exact pattern as that very scar. The queen would awaken herself just as much, having a yellow dress that is somewhat see-through from her arms and waist. She had herself long, black hair, and crystal blue eyes, looking like the sky itself. The King knelt down to be within eye length of the children to explain himself. "So these are the folks accepting my quests? Never expected such youth to derive themselves in something dangerous! Something Scary! Something-"

Solomon rolled his eyes and smirked a bit, interrupting the king in a casual manner. "Yeah, yeah, we get it. Just tell us what's wrong."

The king chuckled a bit, as he'd have the sand that acts as the flooring detail an illustration. "Okay, Okay, I'll get to the point." The way he spoke wasn't something out of pure royalty, but rather just as common as his people. Just as relaxed, and just as secured. The Drawing he made upon the sand looked to be some sort of building, with squares and dots to indicate rooms and people. "So here's the deal. My daughter is struggling with learning the laws and history of the world. She wasn't as prepared as she thought, so I decided to call upon my sneakiest warriors, which is where you come in, to...'Help' her, you know?" Such a request changed Zazel's expression from interest to being unimpressed.

"So basically, give her a cheat sheet."

"Whomever you are, you are absolutely right! Though, its best to not call it that. We wouldn't want eyes and ears to hear and gossip about it." The King chuckled a bit towards such humor, but it was enough context for Zazel to realize that Solomon was right. He'd sigh a bit, before listening in further. "The place in question is within the sands themselves. It's essentially a big hole that you can hop in. All I ask from you boys is to retrieve it, and to give it to my Daughter without as much issues as possible. Can I count on you two for that?"

The boys looked towards one another, sharing an expression of uncertainty, before shrugging and nodding towards the king. "Sure! Seems simple enough....Though how are we gonna get in there? They would notice us if we look like...y'now." He'd state, gesturing to their outfits, to which the king smiled.

"Don't worry! I know the perfect solution to this!" He stated proudly, though Zazel in specific has some mixed feelings with this..
