Chapter 50 - Chapter 50: Sigil of Focalor

The Sigil glowed an ocean blue, with water expelling on both sides, allowing both distance to be made, and for the water to try and help alleviate the toxin that has now invaded their bodies. When distance was made, the Demon that housed the Sigil would burst forth, as if it slipped through the waters and rests upon its depths, hunting for its prey. The monster didn't bore any eyes, yet had a silhouette acting as its body, concealed within the waters. It wasn't before long until the waves crashed back towards Adel, forcing him to back off further and handle the demon spawned, while Zazel would make his way to his ally in his weary state. "Please....." He'd start, panting a bit, feeling more of the venom's effects through fatigue. "Tell me.....that book of yours has something..." It was as if his energy was being leaked out of his body, and he wasn't the only one that felt such a manner.

"Even....if I did....It would need a lot of energy. Energy that I lost...thanks to that green JERK who screwed off!!"

Zazel sighed as he realized the situation. "Great....Draining our will to live wasn't enough...." He'd need to think fast in order to calm the venom that is coursing across their body. An idea struck his mind as he tries to stumble his way through the water across the halls, having his head signal Solomon to follow. "Schools.....usually have an Infirmary....Right....?" He'd ask, as the idea would consist of stalling. A lot of stalling. Primarily through the battle of the Demon in question against Adel while they searched for a medical wing to find some anti-venom. Solomon would nod quietly, trying to conserve as much as he could, as the two made their way to the medical wing, much to their disadvantage of the venom coursing across their body.

Meanwhile, Adel would get himself up, secluded upon a hallway and a classroom, flooded with water, the level being around his ankles, seeing the silhouette entering in through the doorway. "Alright...Lets see here...Water monster that is hiding in shallow waves....most likely not organic, so my venom wouldn't do much. Not to mention my movement's somewhat limited..." His mind was racing as he tries to find a solution, snapping his fingers when he has one and tries to get himself atop of the desks, reaching for anything around him to set up easier. Chairs to act as blockades, while other tables were pulled closer to provide easier methods to walk around. Combining both properties, he'd set up a somewhat sturdy fort to do the most he can, as he prepares a stance to see where the monster was going to come from. What he didn't consider, however, was the actual size and shape of the monster, which inevitably threw him off when the demon, Focalor, burst out from the middle of the makeshift island he created, blasting water upwards like a volcanic eruption to break the tables and flood Adel back down, allowing him to see the monster for the first time: An Eel-like creature with writing across its scales, 3 sets of gills underneath its fins that circled around its head, and jagged teeth. "Ecce vana spes ejus; non projicietur a facie ejus." the sentence read, which designed itself to look like the illustration of a dragon's body, the words being repeated to make it harder to read.

The Demon lunged itself towards Adel, diving deep within the water, with Adel quickly realizing what happened the more he was sunk into the depths. What he thought was shallow was merely an illusion.

30 meters...

60 meters.....

90 meters...

120 meters....

The monster was going through these speeds in a rapid rate. Only a few seconds took him to around 120 to 125 meters. Adel would feel his body begin to struggle itself, due to not having the oxygen necessary to sustain himself deep underwater like this, having to do a last ditch effort to try and survive, moving himself slightly away, before allowing him to chop his arm away, having Focalor consume it, and sink itself even faster, only now without Adel being dragged into the waters. The pressure was building up. He needed air, fast. He'd quickly swim himself upwards, down by one arm, trying to meet top speeds before he would have to deal with the likes of such a demon again. Unfortunately, just as if it was too far down, he would look down and noticed the Demon swimming back up again, even faster than Adel was being. Time was running short, so in a quick motion, he'd position himself to brace for impact against the Demon. When Focalor barreled itself to the Snake Sorcerer, attempting to grab him by the stomach with its jaws and try to bring him back down into the depths, Adel would have his other arm grab ahold of one of its jaws, diving a kick down its throat, and biting down its other jaw, forcing it to go upwards, being spat out to allow the demon to breathe, while Adel would cough out as much water as he could, trying to regain as much air as possible. The kick also somehow managed to cause Focalor to upchuck his arm, as if it was gagging and close to vomit.

Despite such a near death experience, he still smiled. "HOLY HELL! You actually almost got me there! Ehehe...You're a sneaky bastard, aren't yah?" He'd wipe the waters he ingested off of his mouth, looking at the demon, and confirming his theory. While it has an anatomy, its body would clearly leak away any of the venomous substances that it took in, not even affecting the monster itself. It was almost as if Focalor was made up of solid water. "Not only that....you're literally my biggest weakpoint! I can't infect you with my magic, even if I tried! God, do I LOVE this!!" The yells made from Adel would cause the creature to look up, confused by why he was being so happy, despite being at the backburner. Adel noticed this expression and laughed to himself again. "Oh....right...You're kinda confused by why I'm this excited, huh?"

"The Truth is.....I just love it when I'm facing someone that actually fights back. You....those kids.....and everyone else I know...I love it when I'm actually making someone push their limits. Makes me feel like....I'm actually getting stronger." Adel's words fell on deaf ears to the Demon before him, as the man smirked. "Right, forgot, you're a monster. You probably don't know the English language. That's fine.....I'll just show you then, instead."
