Chapter 39 - Chapter 39: The Sand Race, Part 2

BOOM!!

Out came what looked to be an explosion amidst the debris, blasting down the sand directly towards Harvard, blinding him, and causing him to stumble back. A trap was placed just as the two were launched forwards, where Stolas tossed a star, smaller than the eye could see, and cause it to burst out with the debris to stumble the child back. Stolas would land himself amidst the sand, having Aries pick him up by its horns, racing off to continue his steadfast lead. The Space Sorcerer looked back, trying to see if Harvard was alright, before noticing something that caused him to be in awe. A Light, solid green, the sand itself being absorbed, blasting off to the skies, before it dissipated again. The dunes would become mounds, showcasing that the child is traveling underneath Stolas. "What in the..." Was Stolas' only reaction, before the ground rumbled.

When the earth rumbled, a voice could be heard from the sand. It was broken, muffled by the debris, yet it was still there.

"Natus in primordiali Oceano...Nascitur in mari obscurum.."

"Errantes..."

"...Suffocatio."

"Mordax.."

"...Scalpendi"

"Monstrum qui Solem consumit.....Deus Qui occiderit Caelum.....Daemon, qui in tenebris mundum inundat"

"Expande alas tuas et vola....Super eos qui iudicabuntur..."

"ARAWAREU!!"

Afterwards, the sands erupted upwards, like a volcano. A Black serpent was seen spiraling out to the very sky, with golden armor amidst its body, having linear patterns to match with its black wings. Golden eyes were upon the snake, as it hissed loudly, almost sounding like a roar, with Harvard riding amidst its head.

"Primus anguis! APEP!!"

Meanwhile, amidst the chaos, Solomon and Zazel were still catching up, witnessing the large snake spawned from Harvard's cards. Solomon was outright shocked at such a revelation, its shadow looming over half of the city. "What...IS THAT!?" Solomon cried out, as he focused his attention upon meeting with both parties.

"First time?" The Demon asked with a smug grin, self-aware in what is going on.

"Wait you SAW THIS BEFORE!?"

"Well not HIM exactly, buuuuut..." Zazel was toying with the knowledge as Solomon pieced together quickly what the demon meant.

"Not him exac- THERE'S MORE!?" Solomon was in disbelief someone around his age happened to land upon a type of magic like this. Zazel used this opportunity to keep going, using his sigils as a mode for transport, trying to catch up faster than the Biblical Sorcerer. When Zazel did such a stunt, however, he would find himself stopped dead in his tracks. Something was holding his sigil in place. He'd look back to see if it was inflicted with any of the commandments, yet there was no writing. Instead, what was left in place was hands. Hands that are grabbing onto the Sigil to prevent it from advancing, as Solomon began catching up. "Yeah, No. Sorry, Zazel, but I think your friend has enough of an advantage here. I'm not standing around and having you win this race." Solomon retorted, showcasing that the hands were indeed his doing, yet he didn't seem to do anything with the book to cast it. How was he doing this? Questions for later, most likely after the race was over.

"Yeah right! You're just gonna lock that snake in place and let Stolas win! Don't be lying about that, you will!" Zazel simply casted another Sigil and rode on that one instead, disintegrating the first sigil, being kept up to pace with Solomon. Solomon simply had his book cast the Commandments once more, with Zazel making a separate sigil to counter it, Asmodeus. Flames would be blasted forward, causing the Commandment to infect only partially of the spell, splitting the flames in two, yet posing a problem towards Solomon himself. Despite him being between the very flames, the moment he leaves it is the moment he would be hit with a blast of fire, causing severe damage to the child. Fortunately, he already has a spell to counteract this, as the pages flipped once more, a glow being played upon the book, then to his hands once more.

"Et dabo septem dies ex nunc pluviam super terram quadraginta diebus et quadraginta noctibus...

"...et delebo omnem animam viventem in terrain quam feci tibi."

"hoc est praeceptum Domini.."

Water began to spawn from his palm, spilling downwards as they split themselves and raise themselves up, acting as a wall for himself. When his Spell was cast, the wall of water became something stronger. "Book Magic....RED! SEA! ARK!!" From such a command by the child, The water violently raised itself upwards, most likely impacting a few homes by accident with its strong torrent, shooting high enough to douse Asmodeus' flames, as well as having such intensity, that when Solomon locked his book with a commandment, and rode atop of it like a surfboard, it had the force to launch him out like a rocket, flinging him to the sky, higher than anything Zazel could ever reach. Solomon has brought about the very flood that Noah endured, as an offense against a Demon's fire. No words could convey what chaos was this, with Zazel being wide-eyed as he sees Solomon salute towards the demon, a smirk upon his face. "Nice try, Zazel! See you at the finish line!" He'd spoke loudly, as he was falling. Falling with Style, as the waves curved itself to avoid any further damages, wetting the sand that makes up Salvandi.

Meanwhile, the Snake would witness the flood caused by Solomon, alerting the Card Magician at such a powerful display and having him talk towards Stolas about it. "HEY!! How is your friend doing that??" Harvard would ask.

"Oh that? That's his Book Magic! He's got this thing called the 'Codex Gigas' or whatever it is! Holds up every story from the Bible as a weapon! Its pretty cool actually!"

"WAIT HE HAS THE DEVIL'S BIBLE!?"

"Yeah, Pretty much! You should see that 'Devil' in question, by the way! Its actually kinda funny!" Stolas would explain as he has the Ram-like constellation break a piece of stone, before he changes the very constellation into a different shape. A Fish Shape, as the water flowed towards the scene, allowing Stolas to use that stone as a raft should he get himself in trouble. The constellation he made, Pisces, would act like the horse of a chariot, with Harvard seeing Stolas' plan. Trying to deter said plan, Apep was maneuvered directly next to the fish, clashing with each other to make them let go of the stone, as the water quickly swept them, both of their bodies being fluent with the waves. Stolas improvised by having himself atop of one of the fish, Harvard doing the same with Apep, reaching out their hands to the goal: the Sherriff's place.

A Strong crash is what awaited the two, as they both finally reached the goal. Both were so close to each other, that it is near impossible to distinguish who won. "I DID IT!" Cried Harvard, before Stolas got off, shaking off the sands that may have gotten into his feathers.

"Nuh uh, I did it!" Stolas would state aloud.

"Nuh uh!"

"Yuh huh!"

"Nuh uh!"

"Yuh huh!"

The two were back and forth with it, before hearing sounds of animosity behind them. It was of Apep and Pisces, who looked as if they were going to start a fight. The two kids tried to appease them, but it was too late, as both creations made by them would lunge themselves forward, trying to attack one another.

BANG!!
