Thanatos ended up on a side street and then went outside to see if he could find anything.
He didn't want to cause a stir, so he walked through the entire city at a simple walking pace. As he scanned the entire area with his Grim Reaper eyes. Thanatos gritted his teeth in frustration. Alone, the thought that a grim reaper would kidnap a girl and use her soul for something. The duty of a grim reaper was to take care of the soul of every mortal creature; they would protect it even if it was the soul of a demon. They took care of everyone and had no self-interest. It was their own choice to use the power they had to help everyone, and now those very creatures were his enemies.
He went into every single side street, into every single empty building, and checked everything that seemed strange to him down to the last millimeter, but he found nothing. Until he had to give up out of frustration.
He stomped on the ground; his entire body was full of anger. He had the urge to go straight to the Shinigami clan and burn it down, but after another 20 minutes of searching, he decided to head back to the hotel room he booked.
He went back, and after 30 minutes, he was back. He entered the building and got into the elevator without looking back.
He pushed the button to the 72nd floor and went up. When he got to the top, he went straight back to his hotel room.
He opened the door, looked inside, and saw Morgana, who sat on a huge red sofa. Drinking a glass of red wine.
Morgana noticed him turn around and ask, "And did you find something out?"
"No, I searched the entire afternoon and found out nothing, and I think that you also had no luck." He opened the tie around his neck and hung it over a chair. I took a glass of wine and sat beside Morgana.
"Maybe we are searching in the wrong realm. They could already be in Memento and do whatever they planned with that girl." Morgana was clueless. She searched every corner. Thanatos didn't. In one afternoon, the two of them searched all of Shinjuku for the girl but found nothing.
"Do you think we should go to this school any longer?" Thanatos doubted that they would find out something more at that school. The spell Hana used would only last for one day tomorrow and a little bit more.
No, I don't think so. Let's just not go tomorrow. When the spell stops working, they will forget us anyway. So who cares?"
For the two of them, it was no use going to this school anymore. They decided not to go tomorrow and to better use the time they would spend in the school looking for Aiko.
They sat there in silence, and after five minutes, Thanato's cell phone rang.
"Oh, it is Camilla." Thanatos wondered why she would call. Something had happened.
"Than, I have to tell you something. I thought that I could help you with your mission, and I found something out." Camilla was lonely when Thanatos was not around her. They spend many days together. First he was far away due to his 3000-hour working shift, and now he had to sort out a mission that was not easy.
Good, but let me first tell you about the information we found out." Thanatos leaned back on the sofa and began to tell her everything he had found out with Morgana.
Morgana was surprised that Thanatos would give her this information without even thinking. He must have had high trust in Camilla.
Camilla listened in silence to all of the things Thanatos said to her. She questioned not a single word he said; the trust Thanatos had in her was mutual. In the many years the two have spent together. The two built such a strong bond that they could trust each other blindly.
"Good, then I think that the information I had matches yours well. Listen, I found out that in Beika, a bar existed. The bar is called 'Cosmic Crossroad'. It is a place where all different types of races gather, and the bar is the place where all the gossip comes together. I heard that there is a saying. If nobody in the Cosmic Crossroad knows about a thing, it does not exist."
Camilla only wanted Thanatos to return. She had the urge to go down to earth and help him. But she couldn't. She had work to do and was not a full-fledged grim reaper. The ceremony would be this year, and she could not wait any longer, so the only thing she could do was Find out what information he needed and help him with that.
"Good, we will check that tomorrow, and thank you, Cami." He talked in a happy tone. Talking to his childhood friend helped him and got him in a good mood.
"Cami. Are you sure that you are not a couple?" Morgana spoke with a teasing tone. She had a big smile on her face, and the smile grew even bigger when she saw Thanato's ears, which became red.
"What do you think happens when a man spends so much time with a beautiful woman?"
Thanatos had no intentions of hiding what he felt for Camilla, but he needed the courage to tell her. He once decided that he would do it on her 180th birthday.
"But enough of the love stories; let's go and find this cosmic crossroads bar, club, or whatever it is." Thanatos original plan was to go to sleep and relax his mind, but with the new information, he could not sit still and go to sleep; he had to find out as much information as he could.
"You are right. Let's go."
Morgana emptied her wine glass, hoped out of the couch, and jumped together with Thanatos out of the window. They used their powers as grim reapers and hoped over the rooftops until they got to the place Camilla told them about. The entrance looked like a completely normal bar. building with a small door, and over the door hangs a sign that says Cosmic Crossroad.
