The old man bowed down and said, "Please help her. I don't know the reasons behind all of this, but I want this girl to be happy and saved."
The man felt guilt. For not teaching her better or setting up proper protection for her. She meant more than just discipline.
"No need for that; it was our fault after all." The old man did not know what Thanatos meant by that; he assumed that it had to do with their pride or something. He assumed that it was a shame for a grim reaper to not know what happened to the soul of a young woman.
"Is there really nothing I can help you with? I also want to do my part."
"Yes, tell us everything about her. Where she usually goes or where she lives, maybe we can find out more when we go there." Morgana suggested. The thought of having this man as a source of information was extremely good. Also, they still had no idea where she might be, so the only thing they could do was retrace every lead.
The man agreed and told them her address and a few habits she had. Or paths that she often took.
Thanatos took in the information and thanked them before saying goodbye.
Haruka Kudo's information: She doesn't have any friends that she likes to spend time with. She spends most of her time at home, at school, or practicing her exorcist skills. She has a dog and goes for a walk with him twice a day. Once at 5 a.m. and once at 4:30 p.m. She always cooks at home and almost never eats out. Her parents come by at most once a month to check on her. The last time was three weeks ago. She has no club activities; her only hobbies are archery, painting, and reading.
"Well, this is something, but nothing much. What do you think? Where did she get kidnapped?" Morgana asked. The two of them were now inside Haruka's home and searching for hints.
"I never thought in my life that I would break into a 17-year-old's house and sniff around in her personal belongings. Could you please take over her room? I would just feel weird." Thanatos felt weird being here; yes, it was just a mission, but he was still roaming around in Haruka's personal business. He still didn't want that.
'And how is that now an answer to my question?'
Morgana forgot and walked toward a door. The door had a sign on it that said 'Haruka'. Morgana was once again only too happy that the Grim Reapers had the ability to speak, read, and write every language fluently.
As she walked through the door, she saw a plain room. In the room, there was only a bed with a green duvet and a pillow. A green carpet as well as a closet and archery equipment. She made sure the door was open so she could still easily talk to Thanatos if she found anything.
"Oh, and as for your question, Since her dog is at home, I'm guessing that she wasn't kidnapped when she was walking the dog. Since she had school from 8:30 to 15:30, it couldn't have happened there either. She was kidnapped on a Thursday, at least according to our information." Thanatos listed all the points to be thanked for and continued.
"The food bowl was empty; if we hadn't come, the dog would probably have starved." The dog was sleeping now, and Morgana used something called 'Sleep Ball'. It's a ball of different herbs that, when you eat it, puts you to sleep instantly. Many grim reapers suffered from sleep deprivation; everyone had such things with them to get some sleep.
"The old man told us that she loved her dog; she wouldn't let him starve like this. If you ask me, I would say that she got kidnapped during the night after the dog's second meal or on her way back from school."
Morgana was once again happy that Thanatos was her partner in this case. There were only a few grim reapers out there that she would consider dumps; they were all unnaturally smart, but he was on a completely different level. Of course, there was a chance he was wrong, but what he said made sense to her.
Sight
Morgana sighted and said, "You know, I kind of feel sorry for her Thanatos. She has no friends or real family. The dog is probably her only family, and I don't know how she knows she has exorcist powers, but probably not for long either. She has a little one right now, found joy in her life, something she's good at, and now this."
Thanatos could only agree. With what Morgana said, that was something that fired him up more to get this mission over with and find the girl, and after all, he had to pick a birthday present for Camilla too. He had to make things quick now.
"Hey Thanatos, look, I found something." Morgana ran out of Haruka's room and showed him a booklet with a few English words translated into Japanese and a picture frame with a picture.
Thanatos signed her to sit down, and so she did. The two of them sat on the sofa that stood in the living room and looked together at the things Morgana saw.
"In this booklet, she learned a few things, like her English vocabulary or math, and she always writes the date when she did it in the top right corner, and it was the day she got kidnapped."
"She planed her sheath really tight. Twice a day, she walks with the dog for at least an hour, and going to school also takes a lot of time. She also practices archery, always at the same time it is on her appointment calendar." Morgana was happy that she found this out; her voice was full of happiness.
"That means that she only has time to study in the afternoon or at night, and the fact that she didn't make any further entries means that she must have been kidnapped on the evening of this Thursday."
Thanatos connected all the loose ends together and came to this conclusion with Morgana.
"Oh, and for the picture in the frame—"
"Now you are finally as wide as I am in this case, grim reapers."
"Wait, did this dog just now talk to us?"
