"Earlier I went to a coffee shop with Ian and…" I started but she interrupted me
"Wait what!?" she looked surprised
"Listen, we were just…" and she interrupted me again
"Wait Ava, you went on a date with Ian and you are telling me this now?"
"Will you listen to Grace or I should just not tell you anything? I am serious Grace." I asked
"Okay go ahead." She said taking a deep breath as she was ready for what I was going to say.
"So, Ian asked me to go for a coffee with him but not like a date, just a friend's coffee time. While we were talking, I got to know something weird."
"What's weird?"
"Ian knows why I and Liam broke up. And the weird thing in this is that no one knows except us, not even you or Aiden, and when I asked him how he knew he said that Liam told him."
"What!? Seriously." Grace reacted
"Yeah" Grace had never asked me the reason for our breakup nor had Aiden I suppose. She knew I have always kept my love life private and that I don't like to share personal things with anyone.
"Okay don't worry I will talk about this with Aiden." She said after a few moments of thinking.
"But don't tell Li…" I started
"Yes, I know don't worry I won't tell Liam and I will make sure that Aiden won't open his mouth on this too." She said and we both smiled.
"Grace!" Aiden called her
"Coming" Grace replied.
"Be ready after breakfast we are going shopping for my wedding dress."
"Yeah," Exchanging smiles Grace got up and went to Aiden.
It felt amazing sitting in the sand as I watched the sunset and the colorful sky turning dark instantly. The crisp and cold air made my hair blow and brought a smile to my face. I closed my eyes at the feeling. I felt someone's presence beside me and I didn't need to open my eyes to know who that person was. Liam.
Opening my eyes slowly I saw the sun was set completely and the stars were appearing slowly.
"I am sorry," he said looking ahead at the sea and I finally looked at him.
'He looked more handsome from a side angle.' I scolded my mind for thinking such a true statement. I just kept looking at him until he continued.
"For everything. You know the next day I was at your doorstep but you were already gone. I don't try to call or message you because I was ashamed of myself for saying those things to you." He said and looked at me.
"Why are you telling me this now?" I asked
"Just to let you know that I cared about Ava. And I still care." He said and I know he was telling me the truth but how could I just forget everything?
"Well, it doesn't matter now. It doesn't matter if you care or not, it doesn't matter. You are four years late Liam. Nothing matters anymore." I said the last part in a whisper.
"Really?" he asked me, narrowing his eyes as if challenging me to tell the truth.
"Really," I said, matching his stare.
"We will see." He said with a smile before getting up and leaving.
I don't know what exactly he wants to prove. Somewhere I felt a little guilty about the fact that I felt without saying anything but then I don't have any words back then. It was a difficult situation for me to face him after he accused me.
