Why do I feel the need to talk to Ian? I feel there was something that happened which changed something. Looking at him doesn't seem so, he had always been a good word player. And I know it's impossible to take something from him by playing games.
"Ava?!" someone shouted.
I looked up from the table and saw everyone on the table was looking at me with confused expressions.
"Are you okay?" Grace asked
"Yeah, I am fine."
"You have been staring at Ian for the past 5 minutes straight and Grace has been calling you but you don't respond," Nina said with a bored tone.
"It's okay, I understand I am a piece of work. You can stare at me as long as you want." Ian said with a smug smile on his face.
"Shut up Ian" Aiden scolded with serious expressions.
"I am sorry, I am tired. I will just get some air." I said getting up.
Walking to my spot I stood there for the past 3 days which is near the coconut tree on the beach from where I can see the sunset perfectly.
I felt someone walking towards me, thinking that it was Grace or Aiden I spoke to.
"I need to find out exactly what …" I started but stopped when I turned and saw that it was Liam.
"You need to find out exactly what?" he asked
"I… um, nothing," I said and he sat next to me looking at the sunset in front of us.
"Did something happen? You are acting weird today." He asked me, eyeing me cautiously.
"Yes and no," I answered, which made him smile a little.
"Ian said your date with him was amazing."
"It wasn't a date and it was… good," I said with a frown.
"What happened?" he asked me
"As you care, Liam," I said, and when I realized how rudely I replied it was late when I saw hurt in his eyes.
"I am sorry." I apologized immediately.
"Well, I do care about Ava. It's you who doesn't care." He said, narrowing his eyes. When I didn't reply he continued.
"You left everything and ran, four years ago. Without caring about the people, you were leaving behind, who cared about you and who loved you. You were the one who didn't care and left everything behind." He hissed.
I was shocked at his outburst. His face was red and his eyes were watery.
"It was the only thing that came to my mind after what happened. After what you did and said I couldn't take anymore." I said looking ahead at the waves as they crashed the shore.
"So, you thought the best option would be running rather than solving the problem." He asked me.
"I don't have a choice. You accused me of cheating on you! I lost my mind" I shouted as tears streamed down my eyes.
"You could have slapped me thousands of times rather than leaving me. You could have not talked with me for some days but you chose to run away." He whispered the last part.
"I don't run Liam!" I shouted as tears started streaming down my eyes.
"Then what did you do? You ran Ava, you ran from all the problems. You thought running would be best than to stay and solve them."
"NO! No Liam stop it please." I cried
"You feel that? The pain, the guilt.
I have been living my last four years in the guilt of ruining our relationship. But I was unable to make it right, the guilt didn't even let me come to you and apologize. You don't even give me a chance to apologize. I came to you that night. The guilt has been eating me from inside and killing me, Ava. I know I made mistakes but you could have stayed and made me realize them. But you ran, you gave up on our relationship. You gave up on me and you broke your promise to never leave me alone. You can, just like my mother did." He said as tears started welling up in his eyes.
