Chapter 7 - Chapter 6

"Come on Ava, you can't do this to me."

"You are insane Grace, it's 'your', wedding, and 'you' need to choose your wedding cake."

"I know, okay let's do this. You will come with me and help me choose." She said with hope in her eyes.

"Uh! Aiden is there to help you choose Grace." I argued. I was planning to meet my parents.

"But I want your opinion too Ava. Come on help your bestie." Grace tried to convince me with her puppy dog eyes. And she had me here.

"Alright," I said with a sigh. I don't know why she was so happy that I agreed but as soon as I saw Liam walking towards us, I guess I know now.

"Hey Liam, Ava is also coming with us to help me and Aiden choose our wedding cake." She said and Liam nodded his head while looking at me. I narrowed my eyes at her telling her that 'I know what you are doing Grace' and she seemed to understand as she ran away saying "You both wait here. I will find Aiden and bring him. Okay."

After a few seconds of us standing in silence, he spoke.

"How are you?" he caught me off guard asking me this. I looked at him surprised before answering.

"Fine" I replied

"Well, congratulations. You achieved your dream of becoming a Criminal Lawyer." He again tried to make a conversation.

"Yeah, thanks," I said. Taking a deep breath, he came in front of me.

"Ava, I know you don't want to talk to me and that you don't even want me here. But I am here for my best friend's wedding and I wasn't aware that you would be here. So please can we try to be civil at least." He said and I knew he was telling the truth but somewhere it hurt knowing that he isn't here for me.

Even after four years, he isn't here for me and he wants us to act civil. Is he even serious, how can I be ONLY civil with the person I have been in love with since our childhood? How stupid of him to even think like that.

"Then act like I am not here and I can't act civil with you and be friends with you, Liam," I said and walked away from him towards the parking gate. I know our breakup wasn't his fault, it was mine too. I know we are not ever going to be together again, but somewhere deep down in my heart, I wanted us to be together again.

"What do you think?" Aiden asked Grace as we all tasted some amazing cakes. We are currently trying numerous amounts of different cakes. Aiden and Grace are having a hard time deciding but I am enjoying eating cakes.

"Which one did you like, Ava?" Grace asked me and before I answered someone beat me to it.

"Chocolate," Liam said and we all looked at him.

"She liked the chocolate one." He said, looking at me.

Raising my one eyebrow I asked him "How did you know?"

"It was your favorite cake back then and I saw how happy you were eating chocolate cake than the other cakes you tried." He said and I was stunned. He remembered my favorite cake and he was observing me while eating cakes. I don't miss the smug smiles on Grace and Aiden's faces.

"Well, I think it's your decision Aiden. I am very tired, so Ava and I will wait in the car. You and Liam come when you are done. Okay?" Grace said

"Yeah baby, no problem," Aiden replied, giving her a kiss and keys to the car.
