I remain standing, head tilted slightly upwards at the emerging terror above me.
'Was I really that wanted or could they have tracked my scent here?' I couldn't stop my brain from racking to find answers to each of my questions.
Still lost in my thoughts, I blink and I find the demon standing right in front of me.
I gasp. "How... did you do that?" I ask, wisely taking a step back.
The smile it gives is far from terrifying.
It advances towards me, but with each advancing step I take a step backward. And still, It doesn't answer my question.
"Why are you doing this?" I ask, voice a whisper.
It laughs, "are you really that naive girl?!" It asks, voice high. It pauses an inch away from me before a thunderous laughter rumbles out of his throat.
He was really enjoying every damn second of it.
"what do you mean?" I ask carefully, I was still weak from the fire of earlier. One wrong move and I might be dead.
"From the ancient times, we fought side by side with the bluebloods against the abominations and evil of the sea. But, all that has changed now. Master has shown me a path which leads to peace and unity and in return he will protect us for as long as we remain under his rule." The demon says, leaning back and demonstrating with his hands, like ass though he could see and smell what he was talking about.
"What I don't understand is... I mean, don't you all serve the queen and no one else?" I ask, a little less tense.
"I no longer bow to anyone other than to master." It says, staring me down like I was some brittle glass.
"That was why the kingdom fell, because you turned your back on your own people." I say softly, reflecting on all he had said.
"I didn't turn my back to my people, I am trying to protect them." It said in defence.
"Trying to protect them from what? People get killed by you filthy demons everyday all in the name of justice and you call it help? Are you really helping your people or you're killing them?" I ask, silent tears falling from my eyes.
"You know what you're a monster. You all are monsters." I whisper, a finger pointing at all the demons in the room.
"did you hear me?! I said, you all are monsters!!" I yell.
"Enough!!" The demon yells, and I suddenly go quiet.
It lifted its claw, and I find myself flying backwards. I manage to create a shield around myself. Which softens my fall.
The anger in its eyes were obvious, but I didn't care.
I remained on the floor, dust in the air clouded my vision and everything was turning blurry.
The demon lifted a sword which it had shaped from its bare hand, to behead me. I shut my eyes too weak to fight. The sword never lands, instead there's a hissing sound and soon there is a smell of blood.
But this wasn't human blood, it smelled different. I opened my eyes and found the demon's hand bleeding. It looked like its entire wrist had been sliced off by a very sharp sword.
I blink, how?
"You shouldn't have tried to touch her." A voice says from behind me, and when I turn around.
I realize it is not someone I'm familiar with, however the aura was different.
"what are you?" I mutter.
