Once the dungeon had been conquered, the party stood in front of a rock with strange markings that teleported them to the entrance outside. When they appeared, the soldiers that were guarding the entrance got startled.
It was their first time seeing someone leave the dungeon with the "return stone" and not evacuate, making them understand that the party in front of them had completed the dungeon and beaten the final boss.
It was almost nighttime. Morgana brought out her Steed Prime and the obsidian cart to go back to Scar Town and report the completion of the dungeon.
Along the way, she gave each teenager one of the skill books that the boss had dropped.
Skill books were precious items that could be found in dungeons or dropped from certain monsters. Reading them would give the user a random skill that matched their levels, class, and build.
There were different types of skill books depending on their rarity. The common books were primarily found in city libraries or bookstores since they were dropped by low-level monsters.
Rare books could sometimes be found in stores at very high prices and were usually dropped by low-level monsters, although with a very low chance.
Epic skill books dropped exclusively from boss-class monsters, and while some people didn't mind selling them, most people would use them for themselves.
Legendary skill books were the rarest ones and it was an item that could only be bought directly from the person who found them at exorbitant prices.
These books dropped from the strongest monsters in the world of Aegis or were found at the end of the most dangerous dungeons, justifying their prices and rarity.
The books they found had a purple tag on the side, which told Morgana they were "epic" quality, meaning that the teenagers would get a decent skill from them.
After all of them read their respective books while the steed pulled on the cart, they heard the voice in their heads that told them the name of their new skills, then asked Morgana if she knew what they could do now.
After leveling up so much, they all gained a few more skills, so Morgana gave them a brief explanation of how they worked. However, the skills they obtained from the epic tomes were substantially stronger than the ones they learned by simply going up in levels.
From the skill book, Angie had learned a skill called "Fire Vortex," which engulfed their targets in a torrent of flames.
Ray had obtained one called "Flame Rush" that allowed him to rush forward at an incredible speed with his sword encased in flames.
Kaede had gained "Fire Slice," which allowed her to slash the air with flames and shoot fire waves at her opponents, and Conrad had learned "Fire Shield," a skill that solidified fire energy around a person, creating a robust shield that worked the best against magical attacks.
Nevertheless, Morgana still advised them to practice the new skills so that they could see for themselves the limits of their abilities.
When they finally got back, the night sky had already enveloped the town, and the adventurers guild felt quite empty compared to its day hours.
The party of teenagers ran up to the counter to tell the clerk, Tina, about their newly acquired skills, along with their level growth.
Tina doubted the kids at first, but after pulling out an "appraisal stone" and using it on them, she realized that their claims were true, leaving her puzzled as she inspected the virtual-like interface in front of her that showed the teenager's details.
Morgana asked to meet with the guild master again, and Tina showed them to his office, where the man seemed to be finishing paperwork.
"How was the training?" said Roland as he gazed at the party from behind his desk.
"Not bad, although I expected to gain a few more levels, but it can't be helped… At least the kids got stronger," responded Morgana as she approached the guild master.
Roland used his appraisal skill to confirm Morgana's claims, although he knew that the trickster wouldn't lie about such things. "As expected from Lady Morgana…" he said with a slight smile.
The guild master expected to be offered some of the loot they had gathered at the dungeon, and Morgana agreed to sell the gnoll furs since they didn't have any use for them.
Once their transaction was done, the trickster gave Roland and Tina a small blue crystal and a black device that resembled a transponder.
She explained that the crystal was an item called "guardian angel stone" and urged them to destroy it if they ever found themselves in trouble.
These crystals were atoned to Morgana's body, meaning that if they broke it, the silver-haired trickster would be teleported to their location instantly.
The black device was called a "communicator," which was linked to Morgana's "Admin" skill. It would allow them to receive and send voice messages to the trickster at any time.
"If you guys ever need help, don't hesitate to contact me…" said Morgana after handing out the items.
"What will you do?" Roland asked.
"I'm going back to The Underworld… But for that, I'll need to go to my tower first," responded Morgana as she lazily stretched.
The guild master cleared his throat. "I see… If that's what you've decided, then we'll help you if there is anything we can do," he said firmly.
The trickster posed a sad smile. "I thought you wouldn't like my plan…"
"I don't think anyone has the right to tell you what to do anymore, Lady Morgana." said the man, standing up to shake her hand.
Tina also approached Morgana, expressing her gratitude for saving the teenagers and apologizing for giving her trouble.
However, Morgana simply patted the clerk's head with a solemn smile, saying she resembled the old Tina too much, although that was a good thing.
After the entire party gave their farewells, they made their way to the inn to eat dinner and rest for the night, as the next day, they would begin their journey to the city of Liebel.
