The next day, the party returned to the massive airship building and handed their tickets to the clerk, which took them to the boarding station.
A few minutes later, they boarded the massive airship along with hundreds of other passengers.
The inside of the airship was fancier than the teenagers expected. The lounge had plush seats next to a food and beverage counter, and the walls were all lined with strong glass that allowed everyone to see the surrounding lands as they flew above them.
The airship traveled over the continent known as the Western Confederation, a massive land filled with dozens of nations and kingdoms that maintained trade and business relations with each other.
Each nation was autonomous and had its own method of ruling. However, all of these rulers were part of the "Western Board."
It was an organization consisting of all the kings, presidents, and emperors that guaranteed their nations' business with each other and forbade them from interfering with other countries' policies in the confederation.
This meant that while all these different nations were allied with each other in terms of business, they all had completely different ways of ruling.
Some countries like Liebel had policies that made it illegal to own and sell slaves, but nations like Kartan, their current destination, didn't have such laws.
In a perfect scenario, the ruler of Liebel wouldn't do any dealings with Kartan, but cutting them off would also make them an enemy of the rest of the confederation, so the best course of action for them was to comply and maintain their airship routes.
Morgana was never a fan of the Western Board since she felt they always turned a blind eye to the problems that plagued their continent, but she also couldn't fix them on her own, reminding herself that she had tried before.
"Kartan is kind of a shithole, so I say we get the hell out of there as soon as we arrive…" said Morgana after explaining the situation to the teenagers. Although she secretly hoped that it had changed after 100 years.
The teenagers sat in their booth while Morgana walked to the bar to get some refreshments as she remembered that airships used to have excellent food and liquor, and she was getting tired of eating rice and sandwiches, which was all she had in her item box, besides a few other snacks.
She ordered a large number of juices, sodas, and a few bottles of whisky that she stored in her items box. For snacks, she requested a plate of meatballs in sweet soy sauce and spicy potatoes.
While ordering, she noticed a group of four men looking at her. By their ragged outfits, Morgana could deduce that they weren't high-level, so she used her appraisal skill on them.
The strongest of the four was level 40, while the others were around 32 and 37. Their faces showed evident malice toward Morgana, but as soon as her eyes shifted to her vicious glare, the men turned around, acting as if they hadn't seen her.
She shrugged it off and returned to her booth with the snacks for the teenagers, laying back and relaxing for the rest of the trip.
After 8 hours of flying, the airship arrived at its destination, and the passengers disembarked in the city of Kartan.
Contrary to the prosperous city of Liebel, the place looked exactly like Morgana remembered, which was nothing but an awful, rundown place filled with crime.
In the past, before her time in The Underworld, she tried to save Kartan a few different times with her clan. Nevertheless, her efforts were in vain, as crime always came back to the city a few years later.
And even before that, when Aegis was just a game, the Kartan area was where players could complete "criminal quests," which mostly involved murder and thieving.
However, after the Red Calamity, while most players stayed away from the place knowing its reputation, the crimes that were committed there escalated.
A few minutes of walking on the street later, Morgana felt someone's gaze.
Telling the teenagers to wait for her at a blacksmith's shop, she turned around and walked into a dark alley where she felt the presence of someone staring at her.
The four men from the airship stood tall, blocking the passage of the alleyway and staring down at Morgana with deranged smiles.
"Hey, brother, you were right. This woman is definitely a neonite, and she came right at us!" said one of the men with a grin.
The man's brother laughed raspily. "I told you. They are all beauties like her!"
Another scoffed. "Maybe we should give the merchandise a little taste!" he said as he pulled out a dagger close to his face and rubbed its cold iron against his cheek.
"Aye, we can give it a little taste but make sure not to break her!" said the last men as the four of them approached the unbothered Morgana.
Her face showed no emotion other than an arching brow.
"Are you stupid weirdos done with the show?" she said, her gaze turning cold.
The men stopped their approach. The atmosphere around them turned dark and heavy, making them feel like they would certainly die if they got a step closer to the silver-haired woman.
Nevertheless, one of them built up his courage and took a few more steps toward the trickster before a gush of blood appeared from his head as it tumbled down.
The other three men, not knowing what had just happened as they couldn't even see Morgana lift a finger, took a few steps back with horrified expressions as their comrade's head rolled under their feet—gazing back at the trickster, whose hand was dripping from the blood of their brother.
Morgana smiled at them evilly, showing no remorse or sympathy for the criminals who were thinking of doing such awful things to her. But before killing them all, she wanted to ask if they had more allies in town.
'I'm here already, so I might as well clean up a little…' she thought as she wiped the blood from her hands with a rag.
Leaving the scene with the alley walls painted in red and the four decapitated men, the trickster walked back to the teenagers' party waiting for her on the main street.
