Chapter 15 - Mountain Tunnel

The next day, the party woke up early in the morning and prepared themselves to leave Scar Town. However, before they could walk to the city gates, Morgana took a detour to a clothing shop, where she noticed leather bags with a sleek design on the showcase.

Prompting each of the teenagers to pick one, they followed their big sister's orders, knowing that Morgana had something in mind.

Angie and Kaede took a few minutes to decide which bag to choose, as they tried them on to ensure they were comfortable and looked good, while Ray and Conrad had their picks almost instantly as they chose the simplest bags.

Morgana told the teenagers to hold on to them for a moment, and when they finally left the city gates, she summoned her trusty steed prime with the obsidian cart.

Although they couldn't take it all the way to Liebel, it would at least take them faster to the foot of the mountain they needed to cross.

As the steed pulled the cart, Morgana took the bags from the teenagers and opened her item box, searching for a specific item. After a few seconds, she conjured four pink magical stones.

The trickster placed the bags in the center of the moving cart and carefully arranged the magic stones on top of each before aiming her right palm toward the items.

"Enchantment: Magic Bag," she muttered, making the pink stones shine with intensity as they merged with the leather bags.

The rest of the party, puzzled at what had just happened, inquired Morgana about her actions.

She had used her "enchantment" skills to turn the simple leather bags into magical bags that could hold an incredible amount of items, giving the illusion of a bottomless pit.

While the space inside was not infinite, Morgana said that they would be able to store thousands of items, leaving the teenagers speechless.

However, Morgana kept scrolling through her item box when she began to pull out different weapons.

First, she took out two dark-red daggers and gave them to Kaede, a white staff given to Conrad, a red spiky wand for Angie, and a matching silver sword and shield for Ray.

The trickster explained that the party could store their old weapons in their new bags since they had out-leveled them by a lot and wouldn't be as effective as the new ones she was giving them.

Their new arsenal could be used from level 40 to 80, meaning that the teenagers would be using those weapons for a while, then reassured them that she would give them something better once they crossed that threshold.

The party kept thanking Morgana profusely, but she waved her hand, disregarding them, saying that if she truly was their big sister, then it was the least she could do for them. The teenagers smiled and admired their new gear until they reached their destination.

The road had ended, and the party found themselves at the foot of a mountain that they would have to cross without a mount. After stowing away her horse and cart, the group began their climb.

The mountain road was narrow and steep, but everyone kept their footing as they carefully made their way to an area where they had to turn their bodies sideways to cross.

With the utmost care, the group walked along the edge while holding onto the rocky mountain wall with their hands to maintain their balance.

Morgana was the first to cross, pulling each of the teenagers to safety by the arm as they reached the narrow walkway's end.

Ray asked Morgana if that was truly the best way to reach the top of the mountain, but Morgana refuted his statement, saying that they were not going to climb the mountain all the way.

Morgana explained that there were two ways to cross the mountain. The first was to climb to the top and back down the other side, a trip that could take up to four days of walking.

While Morgana had some mounts that were able to fly and take her over the mountain in a few hours, she didn't have one big enough for the entire group.

The other way was to go through a secret tunnel cave that went through the mountain and would shorten their travel to just one day. However, this cave was home to a powerful monster, so most people opted to go over the mountain instead.

"Obviously, we are using the tunnel…" said Morgana with a playful smile.

The teenagers' bodies stiffed up with fear and anticipation, but after a moment, they remembered that they were accompanied by their big sister, so there was no way they could be in real trouble.

After an hour of walking on the narrow mountain road, they reached the tunnel entrance with a wooden sign on the ground right next to it with the words "DANGER" that seemed to be written in blood.

The teenagers gulped at the sight of the sign. Even when they fully trusted Morgana, nobody could have stayed entirely calm in such circumstances.

When they turned to look at the trickster, she had her Admin window open, scrolling through her gear sets before stopping and pressing the tab labeled "Set 4," producing the dazzling light for a moment and changing her usual attire to her "mage set."

She was adorned with what seemed like traditional gray mage robes, a headpiece, and her previous accessories. Morgana then conjured a black staff with a shiny purple gem at the top that she would use as a weapon.

She explained to the party that the monster inside the tunnel was level 100. However, its main weakness was magic attacks. Morgana's barrier couldn't completely block an attack from it, so she advised everyone to stay away until it was dead.

She thought it was kind of a waste of experience for the teenagers, but she didn't want to risk them getting killed.

Even though she could resurrect them if she were fast enough, she still believed it was better not to endanger them needlessly. Besides, they would still get some experience just by being there, so it wasn't a total loss.

Morgana was only level 102, meaning the level 100 boss would still be a challenge, considering it wasn't created to be beaten by a single person.

With her decision in mind and her eyes determined, Morgana ventured into the tunnel with the Freebird party following closely behind her.
