After the battle with the giant yellow-haired gnoll, the Freebird party had beaten a few more dungeon rooms. The next one was the green-haired gnolls, which Morgana quickly dispatched without letting the teenagers get close to them since their claws were poisonous.
Afterward were the blue-haired gnolls, who were physically more robust when it came to gnoll types. However, they were no match for Morgana, who ended up stunning and binding some of them to allow the teenagers to get more hits.
Lastly, they reached the final room of the dungeon, where the red-gnolls awaited them along with the final boss. Morgana warned the rest of the party that these gnolls could cast fire spells and that the boss was pretty quick. However, she still wanted them all to get one hit on it.
As Morgana stepped into the center of the platform, now surrounded by a pit of lava, the event commenced, and the red-gnolls began their attack. However, contrary to the past gnolls, these monsters didn't try to get close to Morgana all at once. Instead, they stopped at a safe distance from her and began casting fire spells.
A few fireballs managed to hit Morgana in the chest, shocking the teenagers for a moment. However, they realized it did not affect her, and she still stood proud like nothing had happened.
"An attack like that won't be able to hurt me…" she muttered as she slid across the platform, from one side to the other, cleaving and slicing through the red gnolls like straw dolls filled with blood.
As the gnolls fell, more kept spawning through the side doors and entering the room. Eventually, the number of gnolls started to overwhelm the group, not because of their strength but their sheer numbers.
Morgana took a more defensive stance, creating a small shockwave around her that pushed away all of the gnolls getting close to her, and with smoke coming out of her mouth and a wicked smile, she muttered, "Berserker Wrath."
The red hue on her eyes became even shinier as black veins appeared around her body. Her expression no longer showed a carefree smile. Instead, it was filled with hatred and anger, gritting her teeth while frowning.
The beautiful Morgana resembled a true demon at that moment.
With her skill activated, she began to run around the room at a speed impossible for the teenagers to discern. Her movements were too quick for anybody in the room to catch what was happening.
All the teenagers could see in front of them was the wake of destruction and debris that flew off whenever Morgana attacked, along with the bloody, dismembered bodies of the gnolls tossed around the platform.
With most of the monsters dead, the dust settled, and the teenagers noticed that Morgana was back to her beautiful self while staring at the door where the final boss was coming out from.
A five-meter red-gnoll appeared from the door and instantly started to spew fire at Morgana from its mouth, which she was able to dodge easily, then yelled at the teenagers to get ready.
Morgana thought she could easily kill the boss with one attack, but that wouldn't be the best option for the rest of her party. So before executing the boss, she devised a plan to allow them to get one hit on it.
Just like she did with the previous mini-boss, Morgana used the back end of her axe to stun the red-gnoll. However, this one was much more resilient than the others, leaving no opening for the teenagers to attack.
The only option was for the party to go on the offense while the gnoll was active, and with that in mind, Morgana used a skill called "Max Taunt," which made her voice roar loudly in the dungeon, making the boss focus its entire attention on her.
"Now, Kaede and Ray!" she commanded as she swiftly dodged the boss' attacks, prompting both close-ranged adventurers to get their hits.
Although quite shallow, Kaede jumped and sliced an "x" in the back of the gnoll, and Ray went straight for the stab on one of its legs.
While their attacks did somewhat hurt the gnoll, it was not enough to drive his attention away from Morgana, who kept dodging its attacks while she told Kaede and Ray to stand back again.
After they stood away from danger, Morgana called Angie and asked her to cast a single fireball. At her request, Angie quickly used her skill and shot the flaming projectile straight into the boss' face, breaking his attention from Morgana for a moment.
Realizing this, the silver-haired woman quickly smacked the boss with the back of her axe to prevent him from diverting his attention to the rest of the party.
Conrad was the only one left. However, Morgana thought his "push" skill wouldn't work since it had barely moved the mini-boss from before.
Either way, she still called him and asked him to try. In the worst-case scenario, she would just allow the boss to hit her a few times and let Conrad heal her.
To her surprise, Conrad used his skill, and it ended up pushing the boss just enough for it to stop attacking for a quick moment. Morgana then realized that the teenagers had been leveling up the entire time, and their skills were slightly more potent than before.
In the middle of her thoughts, she noticed that Conrad's push wasn't only enough to push the boss but also to attract his attention. With a face full of wickedness and savageness, the boss rushed at the group of teenagers, who froze in fear at the sudden threat.
However, as the monster raised its arms defiantly, they heard the voice of Morgana from behind the boss with an eerie and threatening aura, putting their worries to an end.
"Execute," she muttered before doing an overhead attack with her massive axe and slicing the boss in half right in front of the party.
As the two lumps of bodies fell on the ground and slowly disappeared, the teenagers cheered and jumped with joy as they had completed the dungeon thanks to Morgana and were still alive to talk about it.
Their cheering came to a stop when they heard a voice inside their heads telling them that they had all learned a new skill thanks to their level growth, increasing their excitement even more.
But to add even more to their happiness, Morgana pointed at the chest that had appeared at the end of the platform, making their eyes sparkle with curiosity.
Inside the chest were four thousand aetherium, two necklaces, and four skill books.
Morgana gave each teenager one thousand aetherium since she didn't need any money. The first necklace that she appraised was called the "Nightfang Chain," it increased the wearer's stamina and endurance, so she gave it to Ray since he was supposed to be the party's tank.
The second necklace was called "Nightfang Fire," which slightly increased the damage on all fire skills. Knowing full well that the only one in the party that had a fire skill was Angie, Morgana gave it to her, but she also told them that eventually, they would either upgrade those necklaces or completely replace them as they were just level 40 items.
The teenagers were stunned to hear that the items were such high-level and wondered if they were even able to use them.
Nevertheless, Morgana had appraised the teenagers right after the fight and told them that all of them had leveled up to 40, while Morgana herself only went up to 102.
