Chereads / Azazael / Chapter 2 - Bonding

Chapter 2 - Bonding

It was a murder scene. The place was already sealed off with yellow tapes and the mother of the murdered girl was wailing loudly as officers held her, refraining her from running towards her daughter's corpse.

Her brothers stood near her body, their eyes filled with tears too, unable to comprehend how their elder sister who had left home Hale and hearty that morning was now dead, in a pool of blood.

Just then, an inspector walked in on them. He was tall and had broad shoulders, his olive skin shining smoothly under the sun.

"Hi, I'm inspector Dele. Mind stepping away from the body?" He asked politely.

The boys just nodded and moved away, still in deep thoughts.

"Daisy, this doesn't seem good, the third murder this week." He spoke as his partner, a female officer walked in behind him.

"Honestly, I'm worried. The forensics are here, let them do their job." She replied, pulling him away from the body.

He squinted his eyeballs and suddenly saw a flash of red, shut his eyes and opened them again only to find it gone.

"What's wrong?" Daisy asked.

"Nothing,I'm fine. Get the forensics to do their job and the autopsy report ready ASAP." He ordered.

Bemused, Daisy wondered what was with him, he was never like this.

The narrow road was empty, save for Ahmad who just crossed to the other side, walking into a street. He was on his way home from a skill acquisition class and was exhausted.

Unknown to him, Azazel was lurking behind a tree, watching him. It wasn't the first time Azazel and Ahmad had met but everytime they did, the former wiped the latter's memories, making him just think of what transpired as a dream.

Azazel, having spent most of his life in hell, had not an idea of how to live independently on earth due the the cooler atmosphere compared to hell's. He needed a human host lest his flames would die gradually.

Without hesitating, he flew right into Ahmad, knocking him off his feet. The latter, shocked, quickly got up, wondering why there was a rush of wind that hurled him on the floor.

Realizing his side of the street was devoid of people, he shrugged and walked forth.

"Fear." A voice growled.

"Hungh?" He paused, turning yet he saw nobody.

"He's the perfect host." Azazel muttered, now inside Ahmad.

"He's a good person with a his evil potentials locked within his heart. The perfect vessel to manipulate." He continued, dwelling deep into his mind.

"We'll see how fun mankind turns out to be." He chuckled, blacking out.

PRESENT DAY

"Where am I?" Ahmad asked, scared. He was in a red void. He had a pounding headache and trembled.

"Human." He heard and turned swiftly but there was no one behind him.

"Who's that?" He questioned, tension building up in him.

"Fear not, Ahmad." The same voice replied calmly. It sounded from every side. He couldn't fathom where so he remained calm, staring at the endless void before him.

"You're scared." The voice spoke again.

"I'm not." He replied on time, making Azazel pause.

"Who are you?" He asked.

He was responded with a loud laughter that resonated through the void.

"I admire your courage, boy. You're a perfect alliance." Azazel responded, revealing his form to the young man slowly.

Ahmad's eyes widened as he saw the Demon that maintained a human like form standing before him.

"What the Hell are you?" He asked

"People call me many names. Fear, iron god, wrath, the devil's son but my name is Azazel, son of Azu, Grandson of Lucifer and the heir to hell." He responded with a smirk.

The boy's eyes widened. Before him was the offspring of the most loathed being ever.

"Do you want to kill me? Damn my soul?" He asked slowly, wondering why the Demon had chose to appear before him.

"No, don't be silly. Well, I've lost interest in hell and wondered how fun earth would be. Apparently, as a Demon who lived his life in the hot conditions of hell, I can't settle in a cold place like earth...so,I'll need a Vessel." He explained.

"Me? A vessel? Why me?" Ahmad asked anxiously.

"Humans are damned, corrupted souls. I can't stay with such, I need something between good and evil." He replied with a chuckle.

"And I'm perfect? Wow." The boy chuckled.

"Well...it appears you're interested. Deal?" The offered.

"I don't have a choice anyways, you'll still possess me so I guess it's a deal."

"Good. Now, fall into a deep slumber." He whispered and Ahmad's eyes shut, turning the void into darkness.

7TH LAYER OF HELL

Lucifer sat eagerly on his throne, watching female Demons strip and dance nakedly before him. He smiled, summoning one of them. She rushed towards him and knelt, knowing what was to be done.

"You Demons are skilled with the mouth." He remarked and chuckled.

"Yes master." She muttered with a gawking sound.

In that instant, Gruet appeared before him and genuflected.

"All hail lord Lucifer." He hailed.

"All hail Lord Lucifer." The demons in the throne room chorused.

"Grandson. He escaped, right?" Lucifer asked.

"Yes. I was close to apprehending him but I held back." The former replied, still on his right knee.

Lucifer growled and without caution, his penis erupted hot lava into the Demoness, causing her head to melt.

"Take your legion and a dozen Hell Demons from here. You must return him here. Destroy anything that comes in your way." He ordered, raising his left arm and smashing it on his throne's arm rest.

"Yes Lord." The younger Demon acknowledged and made to leave his presence.

"One more thing, call me Lucifer. You're worthy." The older Demon chuckled as the younger disappeared into thin air.

AGEGE, LAGOS

Agege was popularly known for its stadium and ghetto suburbs in the city of Lagos.

In the slums was a young boy running away from a crowd of adults

"Thief, thief, catch him." Were the words they echoed as the boy darted from corner to corner, seeking a way to wave off the crowd.

He had a rough look, one that showed he was hungry and scared.

He was becoming exhausted, so was the crowd too but for his age, he could have lasted longer. As soon as he hit the main road again, he stopped to take breathes.

He looked behind him and got struck with a plank on the head.

"Today would be the last time you steal" an angry young man yelled as he grabbed the phone from the boy's hand.

He resigned to fate, knowing it was useless fighting them.

They brought a tire and dropped it on his Neck, dousing him with Kerosene. A match was lit and just before he was lynched, a sudden wave of electricity emerged, sweeping his assailants off their feet and knocking some out while those who were near him were dried up instantly.

The boy, although in a subconscious state, rose, his eyes now blue and shining with electrical flashes.

With an evil smirk, he released a wave, drying up every human in sight and turned, disappearing from the scene.

A Demon emerged from the corners, amused with this display of power.

"Amusing." He muttered with a chuckle and disappeared.

AHMAD'S POV

My eyes flung open and I found myself in my parents' bedroom, sprawled on the floor like a drunkard.

"How long have I been here for?" I asked no one in particular, rubbing my eyes. I picked up my phone and checked the time.

"4 PM." I frowned. I must have been out for so long.

As I stepped into the living room, my head pounded hard and flashes of what occured in the void while I was unconscious appeared in my mind.

It was then reality dawned on me that unlike before, I wasn't dreaming. I was now a Vessel to a Demon. Worse, Lucifer's offspring.

"Damnit." I cursed, hitting my right palm on my forehead.

"Aren't you a Muslim? Should you be cursing?" A familiar voice startles me. I jumped back and saw it was Azazel.

I was scared seeing him in the same form I had seen him earlier but I had to put up a brave face.

"Shouldn't you be freezing or something?" I asked dryly.

"Oh that. Well, I'm in my Astral form. Let's just say a phantom state." He responded, blending into the wall.

"Oh dear, he's a dick." I muttered and got out of the house. Surprisingly, the chores were already done.

I needed nobody to tell me Azazel had done it one way or another.

"Your girlfriend called." He uttered, breaking the silence clouding us for the last 3 minutes.

"And you answered her?" I asked aggressively.

"Easy Tiger,I wouldn't smash her,I don't do humans." He chuckled.

"Better." I responded, still trying to be brave.

To be honest,I was scared. There was no way I could do anything against this Demon. Both of us knew it but he seemingly had a liking for me. I wouldn't want to chicken out before him.

"So...Azazel. Your abilities?" I smirked.

BADAGRY, OUTSKIRTS OF LAGOS STATE

A flaming portal opened up right in the forest, disrupting the calm, peaceful singing of the birds.

Emerging out of it were Gruet and his army of Demons. As soon as they all assembled at the centre, Gruet faced them and started speaking.

"I know how eager you all are to serve me. I'm also eager to crush that bastard but we can't just attack them. The human race is a crazy one and might hinder our plans on getting Azazel. Do not worry,we would be strategic...Demon of wrath, take a dozen of the army and trace Azazel, attack him." He ordered.

In that instance, a hell Demon stepped forth, genuflecting before him.

"Master, why don't we take a more subtle approach to this situation?" The Demon asked, stepping out of the crowd.

"What do you mean?" Gruet asked, ready to behead him once he speaks rubbish.

"I know Lord Lucifer wants him dead and you do too, but you see, Azazel is at his weakest, he's somewhere, blending with the human race in the possession of a human. He's limited as his human counterpart hasn't mastered his abilities. Why don't we strengthen him gradually till he's strong enough, bonded with humans and then we take away every one he has loved from him before ending his miserable life." He suggested with a bow.

Gruet nodded, finding truth in the words of this Demon.

"And I suppose you have a way to do this?" He asked.

"Yes master, by nightfall, we shall all move to a place. To the humans, we are another one of their pathetic organizations. In reality, we wield weapons and shape creatures that would cause mayhem against Azazel." He responded.

"That...is a splendid idea." Gruet clapped, satisfied with this mater plan.

"I suppose you have a name." He eyed the Demon of wrath.

"Rekhin. The name is Rekhin." He answered with a bow.

"Well, Rekhin, go ahead with your plans." Gruet dismissed him instantly.

"Azazel, I swear I'll ensure your downfall occurs."

Dark Realm.

"He has bonded with a human." A Demon spoke, bowing before Belzeebub.

"*Snorts*. I knew it. That sneaky little bastard didn't possess a human, rather, he chose to bond with him." He spoke angrily.

"What difference does it make? I'll crush him either way." Despair spoke from his throne.

"You don't seem to understand. If he possessed a human,he has control, he'll be powerful and undaunted. But you see, bonding is something else, it's a fusion of minds and powers. It makes them one, they become a force to reckon."

"You're making this sound like we should all be scared." The younger man snorted.

"You should. The child knows not what he is capable of doing, for now he believes he can only use the Demon's abilities. If he realizes it, we can't bring Azazel down." Belzeebub stated.

"If that is the case, I'll ensure he accesses his full form and probe you wrong, father." Despair chuckled one last time before disappearing into thin air.

"You are damned" Belzeebub muttered.

"The Prophecy is becoming a reality." He added.

"The day Lucifer's heir bonds with a Human, the Crimson Wolf appears in its full glory, the Moon Wolf takes a full form and the Hell Hound, alongside the Kanima, fall out with the most evil of beings, Hell would fall and Terror shall emerge." He whispered subconsciously. It was gradually coming to pass.

To be continued.....
