Amon walked inside the shellbox, closed the door, and picked up the voice shell. He held it with his left hand and knocked with the tip of his finger the passwort for the other voice shell in.
-... .- -. -.. . .-. -... -.-. - ...--
Amon waited for 15 seconds and then heard Personia's shy voice: "Spellbander here; the guild master is not here today, so I have to disappoint you and ask you to call back at another time."
"No worries, Personia; it's me, Amon." Amon smiled after hearing Personia's voice. He had not been separated from his friends for long, and he had no idea what to do. But hearing the voice of the girl, who was like a daughter to him, eased his emotions.
"Wait, Amon, where are you, and for how long can you talk?" Personia's voice sounded as if he worried about something, and the only thing because of it could be the war. When he was ported he was left in the dark about the fate of his friends. They also got ported, and he swears that for every scar and scratch, he would cut off the heads of his enemies.
"As long as it needs to explain everything."
"Okay, Dorothea was teleported into a cave; they used the environment against her, preventing her from using her blessings properly, and most of her enemies were mages who fought at high speeds. Niles also suffered severe damage. He came here unconscious, so I have no idea what happened to him. Vlad and Cedric came back mostly unscathed. Anything else would have surprised me." Amon agreed that Vlad and Cedric were among the most powerful mages in Spellbander, even among the twelve coats of arms. Cedric was, with his blessing, an all-rounder; he could fight in any possible situation, and Vlad's blessing was known to be overpowered.
Sight.
Personia sighted before she continued; she didn't know how to say it, but she knew that she had to say it. "Roxanne and Leon are a different story, though. Roxanne came back in even worse shape than Dorothea and Niles. Isabell and Bruna are taking care of her. But both say their chances of survival are just 40 percent, and Leon has disappeared without a trace; we suspect he was kidnapped and is now in the enemy's camp."
Amon couldn't say anything after what he heard. Leon was his best friend, and Roxanne was his wife. If even one of them vanished, he wouldn't know what would happen to him. Personia heard how Amon's breathing got heavier; she even heard how he punched against his own chest. But before she could say anything in order to ease his anger, Amon's voice sounded like a shell. He sounded like a being who had lost all of his emotions. He said, "Thanks, Personia, for being honest with me. I will come back as fast as possible. I am right now in Nasia. Give me the fastest route back to the guild."
Personia knew about Amon's skill that allowed him to seal his emotions. But she hated it whenever he used the skill. The skill had a huge downside that Amon knew about. All of the emotions he felt while using the skill were only sealed, not deleted. All of them came back at once, and Amon often collapsed because of that, and on top of that, she feared this Amon far more than the angry Amon.
But there was nothing she could do about it; she put the voice shell on a small table and rummaged in a few drawers on a table in her lab. She knew she had a card inside somewhere. After a quick search, she found an old parchment map that showed the area of Silverwood and Verdan very well. She dug a green cube out of another drawer and placed it on the map. She touched the cube with her hand and thought of the two places they wanted to connect. The cube became liquid and soaked into the map. The map was not damaged by this, but soon several lines appeared on the map. She looked for the red line that marked the fastest way and told Amon how to go.
"Alright, listen. The fastest way is this one. With the main gate of the castle walls in your back, you got to the southwest and ran to the Noram mountains. The fastest way is over the mountain, especially for someone like you. With all other routes, you would have to go around the mountains and would probably lose a whole day at your speed. A normal person can do it in one day; it's the quickest and most direct way."
The travel speed of a carving person was high due to the advantage of being able to use magic. If she could do that in one day, how fast would Amon be? These were Persnia's thoughts; she has long been interested in how high Amon's physical abilities would be in combination with Qi, and Amon gave her her answer himself.
"Personia, prepare everything. I will make sure to be there in four hours." Persona nodded and said goodbye.
She laid the voice shell on the table and looked at Roxanne's wounded body.
"Mom, you really are lucky that you found yourself a man as wonderful as Amon." She looked with sad eyes at Roxanne, who lay on a comfortable bed. She found it remarkable how a woman can get to know a man as well as Amon. He was a wonderful person for her and nothing other than her dad in her eyes. She wanted to be their little girl for a long time. She kneeled on the floor, pressed her hands against each other, and prayed.
"Oh mighty Ageleia, I am begging you: protect this woman that is like a mother to me; protect this guild and its members; protect the person that is like a father to me; and let me be their little girl for as long as it's possible."
She pressed her fingers tight against each other. She closed her eyes and prayed. Slowly, tears went down her cheeks. She slowly stood up and slapped herself in her own little face.
"I have to get to work and do everything that is in my power to help my mom." This was the day that Personia started to invent items that would change wars for the better. She brought them to another level of cruelty and would later become known as the two-faced angel.
