Chapter 42 - A completely normal person.

Two hours later.

The Verdan army worked their way through the forest. They used their magic and huge axes to cut down the trees. They pushed forward.

Shing!

A man with Shuangdaos cut the heads of 20 soldiers with two cuts. Their heads fell to the floor, and the soldiers saw how their companions fell dead to the ground one by one.

"Everybody stay focused. This has to be another one of these twelve coats of arms with their overpowering blessings." The soldier flew his teeth; he and most of the people in their army's soldiers blessing was granted to them by Niaz. Receiving the blessings of the god Niaz indicated that you were an ordinary individual, destined to embody this sense of normalcy. He and the other once envied all the magicians with powerful blessings. Why not them? Why not them?

"Huh? What do you mean by overpowered blessings? I am the same way you guys are."

A man with long black hair tied in a ponytail, full beard, and worn clothes stood there. His blood-covered Shuangdaos were the perfect evidence that he was the culprit who killed their companions, sending shivers down their spines.

This is what most people would think was the reason why they stood there as if they were statues. But they still forget that all these men and women were soldiers who were not afraid of blood. It was something different.

The man smiled from ear to ear. That smile showed all his sharp teeth, resembling those of a predator.

"I have received my blessings from the same God as you. I'm an absolutely typical person."

This man was Seob Meng, the eleventh coat of arms. He got blessed by the god Niaz and inherited the blessing: Predators Fang. He is from Xuanzang, a huge kingdom on the eastern coast of this continent.

"And before you get to see her, the one with the overpowered blessing is still on the way here. So consider yourself lucky to meet a completely normal person like me here."

Meng points his Shuangdao at the soldiers in front of him; the blades glow orange as if they were on the edge of melting. He dashed forward; his Shuangdao was so hot that it melted the armor of his enemies. He wasn't using his blessing; he used magic.

Even if they are called magicas, most of them only use their blessings and not their magic. When you want to learn magic, you have to study it like other people study math. Using your blessing works with your intuition, which the god who blessed you gave you before you were born. There were often fights where using ark magic was a game-changer. No one expects their enemies to use ark magic any more than they would expect them to use its blessing.

Meng, most of the time, used ark magic; even if he didn't look like it, he loved studying it. The majority of people think that he is stupid when they see his appearance. He has long hair, messily tied to a ponytail, worn-out clothes, and a bottle of alcohol that hangs from his belt all the time. But in reality, he was smart when it came to studying; he wasn't a genius like Personia, but when he sat down and studied for a few hours a day, he found things out. That the majority of people skip.

"And what if you were blessed by Niaz and a normal person? You still use magic just like the rest of us." The young magician was envious of the powers of this man. He was the same way as he was, blessed by the same god, a similar physique and height. Both possessed strong muscular builds and stood at a height of 182 cm each. They conformed to the typical standard for men of their kind. However, Meng exhibited significantly greater strength than he did.

"Oh, you think that your blessing is weak, right? I only use my blessing when I face strong opponents. But to motivate you, I will show you something."

Meng opened his mouth and ripped out one of his sharp teeth without showing a single sign of pain or hesitation.

Meng ran his bloody tooth over one of his dao. The tooth merged with the blade of the dao and got a bony layer on top of it.

Eighteen soldiers sprinted towards Meng, hollowed out with their swords, and wanted to attack him.

But before they could get close to him, they had already met their end. Meng hit the ground with his weapon, and sharp teeth shot out of the ground, impaling the soldiers and ending their lives before they even knew they were dying.

The soldier who was still standing in his position was stunned by what he saw; he had never witnessed or heard of someone who could use this blessing in this manner. Meng truly was in a league he couldn't even dream of reaching.

He was afflicted but still a soldier. He covered his spear in ice and dashed towards Meng. He was prepared to die and showed his teeth with a grin. Meng didn't move; he awaited the attack. The blade of the spear was aimed straight at Meng's neck; the tip was so near that he could feel the wind of it. When it was one centimeter away from Meng's forehead, Meng stepped back. Meng's dao, which was layered with a bony texture, shattered the spear to pieces. Meng struck him with his elbow in the face and knocked him down. The soldier somehow managed to stay conscious; he waited, lying on the ground, for his death.

"Run away, kid; you are just in your early twenties; you are too young to die in a useless war." Meng saw a younger version of himself in the young man that was lying on the earth beside him.

Meng kicked him in the side when he felt something approaching; he knew who that someone was but wouldn't know when the two of them would meet at the moment. He knew that the person who came in his direction would kill the young man without hesitation.

The young man got catapulted into the air and landed on a hill two kilometers away from the fighting scene.

"There doesn't have to be more blood shed than needed." Meng turned towards the forest and walked inside.
