"Finally, we've arrived," whispered Kim Min-Ho, his eyes widened as he caught sight of his home, ruthlessly delivering a powerful blow to a courageous zombie standing defiantly on the desolate streets.
"Min-Ho, you've hit over fifty zombies along the way," exclaimed Hung Ye-Hee, her joyful expression tinged with disappointment as her sharp gaze fixed upon Kim Min-Ho.
"Uueek. Uueek," Ah Yun-Ji and Ye Eun-Seo choked, their nauseous vomit overflowing in the shaking jeep.
"Haha, apologies, my two beautiful angels. I am not an experienced racer," chuckled Kim Min-Ho, laughing as he witnessed the nauseating ordeal of Ah Yun-Ji and Ye Eun-Seo.
"Huuhh," sighed Hung Ye-Hee in disappointment.
"Get ready; let's get out of this jeep," Kim Min-Ho invited, bravely grabbing his sword and throwing himself out of the vehicle, a symbol of freedom. Hung Ye-Hee, Ah Yun-Ji, and Ye Eun-Seo followed suit, stepping out of the jeep confidently.
"We've arrived as well," Park Dong-Su breathed a sigh of relief, stepping down and taking a long breath. The six figures crossed from the truck and stood before him.
"All of you will stay temporarily at Hung Ye-Hee's house," Kim Min-Ho announced with firm resolve.
"Why at her house?" Park Dong-Su asked, surprised and bewildered.
"Because they only know Hung Ye-Hee," Kim Min-Ho replied firmly.
"You're right; they only know my sister," Park Dong-Su nodded in agreement.
"I apologize for the inconvenience," Hwan Mi-Yong offered her apology to Park Dong-Su.
"It's not a problem; humans should help each other," Park Dong-Su said with a genuine smile.
"Very well, with that, I'll head home," Kim Min-Ho whispered, taking confident steps toward his house. All eyes followed Kim Min-Ho's journey.
"Is the corpse in front of his house a zombie?" asked a charming brown-skinned woman.
"That's right. I saw him bravely strike two zombies with a baseball bat. That's why I decided to invite Kim Min-Ho to pick up my sister," Park Dong-Su exclaimed, courage shining in his eyes.
"Finally, it was only Kim Min-Ho who picked me up from the infirmary," Hung Ye-Hee grumbled with disappointment clouding her heart.
"Well, please come inside the house," Park Dong-Su invited with a warm, sheepish smile. Hung Ye-Hee and everyone else followed Park Dong-Su's steps, entering the house that resembled an oasis in the barren desert.
At present, Kim Min-Ho stood before the door of his house. His eyes widened as Na-Yeon gracefully helped him open it.
"Kim Min-Ho, thank goodness you're safe," Na-Yeon breathed, taking a deep breath.
"Aunt, let's chase these three corpses away from our broken street," Kim Min-Ho beckoned, his gaze fixed on three decaying zombies in front of his house.
"Alright, Kim Min-Ho," Na-Yeon nodded faithfully.
Together, Kim Min-Ho and Na-Yeon began lifting the gruesome bodies that were nearly devouring the living flesh. With determination shining in every move, they cast them away, allowing them to become grim ornaments on forgotten streets. It didn't take long for Kim Min-Ho and Na-Yeon to finish dealing with the stumbling zombies.
"Hey, Kim Min-Ho, why didn't you ask for my help?" Kim Min-Ho turned and found Park Dong-Su and a brave young man approaching him.
"This was just a small task," Kim Min-Ho replied.
Kim Min-Ho looked at two heavily damaged cars and said, "Can you both push those cars at least twenty meters away from our house?"
"Sure, I'll tow them with my car, and you two can help me," Park Dong-Su said, looking at the two daring young men.
"Alright," the two young men nodded without hesitation. Kim Min-Ho nodded back and walked confidently toward his house, followed by Na-Yeon.
"Did Auntie discover any new creatures while I was gone?" Kim Min-Ho asked as he entered the living room and sank into the soft sofa.
"I found five thumb-sized ants. However, I put an end to their lives with decisive action," Na-Yeon replied, closing the door with utmost caution.
"Thumb-sized ants and mosquitoes," Kim Min-Ho muttered, confusion enveloping his heart.
Kim Min-Ho glanced at his phone, the one that never left his hand, only to realize that no messages were waiting for him.
"Turns out I didn't earn any experience points or coins after obliterating dozens of zombies by running them over," Kim Min-Ho sighed, gasping for breath.
Kim Min-Ho closed his eyes, and before long, he fell into a deep sleep on the sofa, which relieved his fatigue. Na-Yeon, who had just come out of the kitchen, gazed softly at the figure lying before her.
"Kim Min-Ho must be exhausted after helping Park Dong-Su fetch his sibling," Na-Yeon whispered, a warm smile crossing her lips before she continued on her way.
"Knock, knock." Kim Min-Ho woke up from his slumber, hearing the sound of a door knock. Without hesitation, he tightly gripped his katana sword and bravely approached the door. He peered through the window, and there stood Hwan Mi-Yong, the Hung Ye-Hee schoolteacher, with pleading eyes.
Kim Min-Ho opened the door, saying, "What's the matter?"
"Wouldn't you offer me a seat first?" Hwan Mi-Yong smiled, a bittersweet smile exuding grace.
"Please, have a seat," Kim Min-Ho responded firmly. Hwan Mi-Yong nodded and sank into the soft sofa. Kim Min-Ho then locked the door securely.
"Tell me, what brings you here?" Kim Min-Ho asked, his facial expression unreadable.
"At Hung Ye-Hee's house, there's no room left. Can I sleep here tonight? I've only heard that you live with a maid," Hwan Mi-Yong whispered humbly. Kim Min-Ho gazed at Hwan Mi-Yong's face and body, then sighed inwardly.
"If Na-Yeon deserves a rating of 6, then Hwan Mi-Yong deserves a 6.5 for her beauty."
"It's up to you. You can sleep in the empty room or with Na-Yeon, if she agrees to share the bed," Kim Min-Ho calmly stated.
"The empty room is sufficient for me," Hwan Mi-Yong replied politely. "Auntie, please show Hwan Mi-Yong to my brother's room," Kim Min-Ho called from behind the door.
"Alright," a voice from beyond the door replied.
"Follow me," Na-Yeon said, throwing one last glance at Hwan Mi-Yong. Hwan Mi-Yong nodded, and with mixed feelings, she followed in Na-Yeon's footsteps.
Kim Min-Ho sank back into the sofa, but before he could close his eyes, he felt someone's gaze. Kim Min-Ho glanced towards the door and was surprised to see Park Dong-Su standing there with a bewildered look.
"What's the matter, Dong-Su?" Kim Min-Ho asked, his eyes filled with curiosity.
"You've truly become a hero," Park Dong-Su said, his eyes reflecting admiration.
Kim Min-Ho smiled and looked directly at Park Dong-Su.
"I'm only doing what I should as a human being," he humbly replied.
They exchanged glances, sensing an unspoken bond between them. Then, both of them smiled and held hands, facing a world full of darkness and danger but also filled with courage and hope.
Amid the silence that filled the room, the rumbling sound of a departing vehicle accompanied their determined footsteps as they defied their fate.
