Verity's POV
How much time has passed, I don't know. But what is certain is that a few weeks ago, I woke up in the arms of Delmira, who was crying, full of wounds; she said if I refused anyone to approach me with a large burst of power would make all the wolves unable to come closer.
My body was also injured; from there, Delmira knew I had not recovered. And here I am now, with Delmira in my bed. This woman was reluctant to leave me to sleep alone; she said the explosion of power that happened to me resulted from being rejected, mate.
Delmira asked me if I had found my mate, and I said yes.
As if Delmira understood my answer, she hugged my body the following day, "It's okay if it's hard to tell. Let me know if you want and are ready; you don't even tell me it's okay. I want you to be happy; that's my biggest wish, honey." She said to me, which made me not understand.
This situation feels wrong, but I like to accept it no. I shook my head at my thought, the memory still fresh. I loved the attention before realizing I was being played and then dumped.
"Delmira, will you continue sleeping with me even though you know I'm already 21?" I asked her, who smiled back at my question. "I'm serious; I'm fine. It's probably been almost a month since the incident of my power explosion." I said, reassuring her again I was a bit uncomfortable being watched before going to bed by him.
Delmira turned her gaze like a burn on my neck to my chest sticking out like a root; it looked like a dark and horrible poisonous wound. This wound appears as a result of my mate's rejection; even when I want to forget, this trace reminds me of the asshole Jacob Night!
Hatred suddenly appeared to cover my heart until Delmira's voice broke my emotions, "Does this still hurt?" she asked, pointing at my wound.
"No, this is already better." it was still hot, but better than the first time. It was sore and hot at the same time. It tortures me.
"Good, I can call the best doctor to treat you. Mason found that famous divine doctor here; he owes us a debt of gratitude for finding his granddaughter." Delmira said, continuously saying the divine doctor's name.
I've heard that before Luna Avyana, Jacob's mother, had severe poisoning due to monsters fighting mutant monsters sent by the shadow evil, and they asked for help from divine doctors. It costs a lot to ask the doctor for help; the older man is also difficult to find if needed.
Luckily at that time, the doctor was journeying to find someone; alpha Rocco Jacob's father provided all the help Moon Pack had to see what the divine doctor wanted because he appeared by himself when almost all the doctors there couldn't save Luna.
"No need, I'm fine." I denied again that I didn't want to be a bother; feeling like this made me more uncomfortable.
I changed my sleeping position with my back facing Delmira, and she seemed to notice my reluctance.
"Sorry to make you uncomfortable," she said, stroking my arm. But unfortunately, I injured my uterus and could not give birth. And boom! I met you there hugging your lifeless son; I thought my heart had hardened because I didn't want a child. But I saw you there; I felt how evil I had been to myself, covering up the wounds I should have treated."
"I saved you, I thought at this point. How poor you are, I'll take good care of you, and after two months, I think it's not about pity anymore. I want to adopt you, but we know. We don't know your past yet, what brought you to the terrible Osiris Wood in such a pathetic state…" I heard sobs at the end of her story.
I don't know; I don't even have any feelings remembering what happened half a year ago. I heard Delmira keep telling me I realized how selfish she was tonight, but I kept my back to her until darkness overcame me.
...
I covered my face from the sun, striking my eyes and opening my curtain. It's still too early, and I'm too lazy to get up,"Delmira, Please close the curtain again!" I called her name, but when my hand touched the side of the bed, it was already cold there.
"Oh, Miss, please get up soon. We have prepared warm water with fragrance for today; Mr. Mason invites you to take a walk to the city while visiting the information association belonging to you, Miss." said the maid assigned to be my maid.
What is the name? I forget.
I woke up lazily after taking a shower dressed like the daughter of a rich family. It was too expensive a dress, and I could only see Liliana wearing it; the first and last time I wore a pretty dress was when Jacob rejected it.
"Huh..." I shook my head as I realized the traitor's name kept popping up.
"Is something bothering you, miss?" asked the maid, combing my long black hair.
I looked at him through the mirror and asked, "What's your name?"
She smiled happily, hearing me ask him if it was such a fantastic thing that I saw his eyes filled with tears of emotion.
"My name is Arya, I'm an omega, and I was saved by the madam when I was about to be sold as a slave," she said without me asking to explain its origins.
Arya eyes are pale blue, she is really weak and she looks younger than me I think. Her skin is pale like a vampire, she has neat teeth even though he is an omega.
I muttered and walked out of the room, we had breakfast together, and now we were in the horse carriage heading downtown. The roads here weren't as bad as the last time the carriage brought me in, it made my body sway in pain, and the piercing cold made my fingers freeze.
Again that memory, I shook my head hard.
"Is something bothering you?" asked Delmira, which I answered with a weak smile.
"No, it's just an insignificant memory." I turned towards the window to see the crowds on the streets. Even in the past, when I came to the market, they threw stones at me and cursed me as a cursed offspring." I explained when I saw the market we passed.
Delmira and Mason's house was in town, so it didn't take long for us to pass through the bustling market.
My hand was held by something warm; I looked down and looked up to see Delmira smiling.
"Now, no one will ever dare to do something like that to you again; we promise to punish them if that happens," Delmira promised me, who nodded in disbelief.
"I will kill them without mercy!!!" said Mason making the room temperature heavy; I chuckled, seeing Mason's fist.
"It's okay, they're not here, and no one will recognize me as a mixed blood," I replied again, bit by bit deliberately exposing myself to the two of them.
At least this is my return to them for accepting me, giving me a comfortable place to live and good food. I looked at the two of them, who looked sad, especially Delmira. This woman was crying very quickly, Delmira eyes wet with tears.
"That has already passed; you don't need to worry, Delmira. I'm already fine." At least I feel that way, I continued to myself.
Delmira held my hand even tighter, "Sorry... I'm sorry for not being there when all that happened to you; I'll pay for all of that to you. Whatever you want, tell me. I'll give you everything…" she said I nodded again, I didn't like seeing Delmira keep crying lately. Besides, I don't understand why did Delmira apologize and want to pay for all of my past?
I also realized something, I seem to have lost my temper. All I saw was uncomfortable and ordinary, those two feelings. Sometimes I also suddenly feel angry; that's all I can easily brush off when I feel it.
We finally arrived at the five-story building; it was pretty big and luxurious. This is my first time seeing this, it's amazing, but that's about it.
