Author's POV
The large spacious room has bookshelves on every wall; a handsome man with black hair, beautiful dark blue eyes, thick eyebrows, and thick lips occupies a large table.
The man had a well-built build, his muscular arms looking charming as he moved his ink pen over the paper. Someone entered his room after knocking; he looked up briefly before continuing to check his paper report.
"Any new information, Aramis?" asked the man in the clothes of a nobleman to the man standing in front of his desk.
Warrior-clad Aramis saluted the man before him and continued Alpha Alaric; we found traces of dragon race bloodline near the information association inn.
That stopped Alpha Alaric from going through every report; the man grinned and stood up.
"Good, I will go there directly. It's been a long time since we lost track of this damn man; he's like a snake. It's complicated to track him; it seems Dante is in a precarious state to use the power of teleportation in my area!" he said, looking both pleased and furious; the man named Dante mentioned was the one who messed up at the information association inn.
The two of them walked out; they brought ten highly trained warriors and two magicians to trace the traces of the teleportation mana. The man was not well; his mana was a mess, and he used to teleport every time. It always leaves traces that are easily traceable.
Alpha Alaric had arrived in front of the inn with his warriors; Mason's guards were cleaning it. He certainly knows Mason; no higher-ups or elders in the Light pack don't know who Mason is in their area.
He is the most adept at extracting information; some elders and nobles of the Light pack often bribe Mason to delete their personal information so no one will ask them to find out. But Mason is a man with an authoritarian personality, and not easy, so most of them are blocked in the association's information request list.
Moreover, Mason's information association also has a hitman sector, a skilled assassin who never fails to fulfill customer requests. The assassins were known as Dark Whisper.
A man with curly black hair and childish blue eyes approached Alpha Alaric to speak, "Should I call Mason to ask?" Kairos, beta Light pack.
"Sure, if we can meet him now. Because I heard this half-year Mason has rarely been seen in the association buildings and was rumored to have an adopted son who is recovering," said Alpha Alaric.
Of course, he hoped to meet the head of the Masonic association, for he had not spoken for a long time. The warriors' arrival with their pressing aura made the Mason association's inn location a scene again. Moreover, they realized that Alpha Alaric was among the trained warriors.
Suddenly some pedestrians and traders bowed in salute; at that time, Mason came out of the inn building to greet the alpha with two women by his side.
"What brings you to this little inn, Alpha?" asked Mason curiously; he felt a vast aura coming closer, which made him alert after the incident earlier.
"Oh, it's bad to talk outside of something big, Mason," replied Alpha Alaric with a charming smile on his red lips; the man glanced to Mason's side where those question-mark green eyes stared at him.
'She's a half-blood elf.' The sound came from Alpha Alaric's wolf; his name was Jimmy.
Alpha Alaric has the power to see the color of the aura of all races, like a wolf. It looks blue; elves are green, minotaurs are red, dwarves are brown, and many more.
And the aura of the young woman on Mason's side was a chilly green; her even greater Elf power masked the atmosphere of a wolf. Alpha Alaric then realized if he was caught in beautiful green eyes. Those eyes pulled him in; Jimmy even stunned and started roaring.
"Alpha!" Mason's voice interrupted, and the green eyes were replaced by sharp blue ones giving him a warning look. "Please don't look at my daughter like that; she will feel uncomfortable." reminded Mason.
Alpha Alaric raised his hands, smiling, "Sorry to make you uncomfortable, Mason. I'm just curious about the young lady on your wife's side; it's my first time seeing her, and is this your daughter that people are talking about?"
"Yes, and this is her first day out with us. So sorry I can't talk to you for now. You can come to my subordinates to ask about the information you want to ask." he told the alpha angrily.
Even if the head of the information association couldn't receive guests, an alpha couldn't complain about it. Because the strength of Mason and his assassins could not be measured, Alpha Alaric could feel the aura of many people hiding and watching those who were believed to be Mason's dark whisper assassins. This older man loves his adopted daughter.
"In that case, okay." alpha Alaric turned inquiringly before speaking a few sentences with Mason; he stepped aside but did not return to the castle.
.....
Verity grew to love going out a week later, but she also realized since she told Mason and Delmira who the mate who rejected her was. The two of them seemed very busy going back and forth to the central association building while taking her along; because they were engaged, she was rarely accompanied by Delmira or Mason.
Like this time, she had come with them to the other association building from the inn early in the morning. This is the main building not far from the inn, a more modest building polished into an antique shop.
"Verity, I'm sorry I can't accompany you to shop at the market. Take Arya and Draven with you; they will be dressed like commoners. Be careful with strangers, do as you please if someone messes with you. Use Draven!" Delmira said, patting her shoulder.
Verity nodded, then went out to the two maids behind her; she glanced at Draven, who had messy hair and a tall thin build. His eyes have dark circles, and his face is not friendly; he only obeys in front of Delmira and Mason.
Draven was two years older than Verity; his face was somewhat handsome but unfriendly. His gaze was always cynical; even Verity's maid, Arya, would often frown in fear whenever Drave spoke.
But Verity didn't care; she wanted to see Mason's warrior training ground.
"Take me to the training ground," she ordered Draven, who could be heard sighing. "If you don't like escorting me, feel free to come back. I can go alone." Verity chimed in, making Drave grit his teeth and walk ahead of her.
"Who said I don't want to accompany you? Walk fast!" said Draven angrily ahead of Verity and Arya, who wanted to rebuke his audacity but did not dare.
"Forgive Draven's behavior, miss."
"It's okay; just follow him," Verity ordered Arya.
