The three arrived at the significant training ground with mostly tall, bulky men. They all trained to their strengths, but no one used swords here. Of course, the power of the wolves is greater than that of a sword.
All wolves can die with just a knife made of silver metal.
All the weapons here are made by dwarves who are difficult to approach by anyone and are very stubborn and also racist towards other races; they think other races are too weak and worship shiny things as well as forging weapons in front of hot coals is their love.
And Mason successfully carried out the cooperation contract; he gave the precious metals that were difficult for the Dwarves, and the Dwarves forged the best weapons for the association. That is why, apart from being the best informant in the entire continent. The Mason's Association also sells the best weapons from the dwarves, which are difficult to obtain at high prices and incomparable to a giant castle.
There are several training rooms, some archery, close combat, poison use, and some that Verity hasn't seen yet. Everything seemed new to her and surprised her. The dark whispers here were mixed race like her; they already knew who she was and even rebuked young Draven for daring to be bold to their boss' daughter.
Not realizing it was getting late, she walked back to Mason's office, and Delmira was. She wanted to ask something about their busy lives so that at least she could travel without joining the association; she didn't want to add the two of them to the list of returns.
Verity also wants to train so that at least she can work to replace all the things Delmira and Mason gave her. She had reached the hall to the office alone, leaving Arya and Draven. Still, her steps stopped when suddenly her chest jolted with something just as the office door opened to reveal the figures of Mason, Delmira, and a tall, tall man who smelled pleasantly.
"Oh, have you finished walking around the practice field?" asked Delmira, who saw her coming closer first and took her to join in greeting the man she met a week ago.
"Greetings, alpha Alaric; I'm Verity Morana."
Alpha Alaric smiled at Verity's figure with his intimidating sharp eyes assessing her expressionless face, "Yes. We meet again, and you look so beautiful today." he said, looking at Verity's outfit.
It wasn't a dress that hung down; Verity wore a white coat, a seam at the waist, black leather pants, fittings, and black boots. She looks even more stunning with her charming green eyes and wavy black hair now tied in a ponytail to the back of her head.
"Ekhem! Stop staring at my daughter like a beast, alpha!!" said Mason warning Alpha Alaric, who turned his head to break his gaze with Verity, who was silent at Delmira's side.
Alpha Alaric chuckled, and his eyes crinkled against his beautiful blue eyes, "Oh! I'm sorry, today your daughter looks so beautiful that I forgot that her parents were still here." the alpha joked at Mason.
"Well, you're right!" Mason rolled his eyes in exasperation. "You might have taken my daughter away if we weren't here right now, alpha!" he answered in a severe tone since a week ago; Mason was still angry to hear who was the man who rejected his daughter.
Yes, Mason already considers Verity his daughter even though Verity doesn't recognize him as his parent. And because of that, he always felt insecure seeing Verity close to alpha Alaric, who incidentally was also an alpha from the Light pack. He seemed sensitive to the alpha figure, even though the alpha Alaric wasn't that jerk!
"Then see you soon, Verity. And Delmira, I'm still waiting for your answer to become a trainer for new warriors in my castle. I'm still waiting for it now; I hope for the best answer." said Alpha Alaric to Delmira but still looked at Verity, who was also looking at her without prejudice.
"I already answered it, alpha. It's just that you have to accept that I have retired early," answered Delmira in a nod by alpha Alaric who did not seem to accept his refusal.
Alpha Alaric finally left with Mason, and Delmira and Verity returned home before Mason.
Inside the carriage, Verity asked without waiting any longer.
"Delmira, what exactly are Mason and you up to lately? I feel that since my story last week, your attitude has changed, and it's like holding back your irritation and treating me like glass that breaks easily," asked Verity staring right at Delmira's beautiful face.
The girl was stunned for a moment before closing her eyes for a moment and looking straight into those green eyes that had felt empty since the burst of power, "We are currently removing the information association from the Moon pack; this is happening because we don't want to give information easily to everyone there. We were already aware of how discriminatory the people there were and ignored it without realizing that you almost died because of it." Delmira again looked sad and regretful; Verity was confused to identify the emotion for what?
"The Moon pack side asked us to reconsider, or else all of our organization's access would be canceled and not allow any dark whispers to enter the Moon pack, but you can relax. Mason doesn't fall for threats that easily because Dark Whisper doesn't need permission to enter anywhere. So with this, the citizens of the Moon pack can feel the difficulty of getting good things into our hands, even the nobles and elders there. Because they are the losers, not us." she explained at length, nodded by Verity.
"I understand, but you don't have to work so hard. I'm fine," she said, making Delmira shake her head to reject her words. "You know, Delmira, today was fun, and I thought about joining in training with the assassins there. Can I?" she asked, changing the topic.
"Are you serious?" asked Delmira, unsure, and Verity nodded confidently. "Let's wait until Mason returns; I must tell him so you are safe when you join the practice."
"Thank you, Delmira." Verity said sincerely, giving him a faint smile.
Verity's smile made Delmira lose her mind; that was good. She was glad that there was finally something Verity liked, as long as it made him better than yesterday. Delmira will always do her best.
Night came, and Delmira slept in Mason's arms, leaning against the head of the bed. She was talking about Verity's request for him to join in on training at the dark whisper training ground; Mason was silent momentarily.
"I allowed her; I even wanted to teach her directly how to survive. Considering she got so much torture while living in the Moon pack, the problems in the Moon pack are still waiting for me. I'm also working with Alpha Alaric to withdraw all the association's holdings there while helping him find Dante, a man from the dragon race whom Alpha Alaric has long wanted." Mason explained to his wife; he rubbed his wife's soft shoulder lovingly.
"That means you allowed it, right?"
"Sure, but what fast. I'm a little worried..." Mason said, looking into his wife's eyes.
Delmira smiled and raised her hand to her husband's chin, who had fine hair, "We have to believe in Verity... as long as our child can get better, we need to do everything so that nothing like before happens again. We've lost it once and searched for 13 years, we've lost 13 years of growing up, and it seems like even Verity doesn't remember us at all." she said sadly.
Remembering the past when the association was small and vulnerable, Mason had enemies strong enough to tear her and Verity apart for so long. Unexpectedly, that long time had hurt and also taken away Verity's memories of the two of them.
"Okay, let's take your word for it. Moreover, later we need to prepare to tell Verity about her birth, which is not a wolf of mixed-human blood; her ELF power that exploded yesterday dispelled her wolf aura as a luna."
Delmira nodded slowly, "You're right. We need to be prepared to tell Verity about her bloodline."
