Verity's POV
I saw Mason, Delmira, Alpha Alaric, and Warren looking panicked. There were even some older men I don't know who; they came after Warren sent the messenger dove. It was one of his powers as well, taming some animals like pigeons to send secret messages. Pigeons can camouflage and blend into the environment without being noticed by anyone.
The three of us and I were ordered to wait in a relatively large room on the second floor while Mason, Warren, Alpha, and several parents came for a meeting; for some reason, the situation felt tense.
This matter seemed very serious; I turned towards the waiting room window. The sun had lost its light, and the sky was getting dark; Elijah's weak sobs could still be heard.
I closed my eyes to get rid of the discomfort of hearing Elijah sobbing for almost three hours, this girl was not tired, and her brother kept hugging her to comfort her. For a few moments, I closed my eyes. Something was staring at me intently; this feeling made me uneasy, and I opened my eyes to see the figure of Moros on the sofa chair in front of me.
Since when?
Yes, since when was Moros in front of me? Because I didn't see or feel the presence of Moros apart from Ezekiel and Elijah, even though I knew the four of us were told to wait, I didn't see him.
"Your name is Verity?" Moros asked me, but I was too tired to answer him. Looking away again, I sat on the sofa facing the three children. "Heh! Just because you're the daughter of Mason and Delmira, you feel arrogant and don't need to answer questions from someone like me. Am I that joking that you dare to ignore?!" Moros sounded angry.
I support my chin with one hand; my stomach is hungry. I want to go home, shower and then eat to continue sleeping. Today feels tiring; my energy seems to be pulled all over. I am even moving my mouth. It feels tough.
I heard Moros chuckle and glanced at him, "Fine if you don't want to answer. I was just wondering how you could have been standing over us unnoticed if Alpha Alaric hadn't found you. This is your first time doing camouflage training, right?" this kid asks too many questions, I nod so he stops talking to me.
"One more question, how do you use the power of invisibility like that? I'm quite curious because previously, only a few seniors succeeded, and even then, it only took 1 hour at most, and you just entered this morning trying at noon, then boom!! You used the power of invisibility." His words interested me because I was pretty confused by the incident earlier.
I also judge Moros' character; this boy doesn't care about his sloppy appearance. His eyes were dark blue, with a sharp nose, thick eyebrows, and thin lips. His body is lean and not muscular, but Warren is correct that the power of camouflage and eliminating his presence is excellent. And he was always alert every second, just like now. Even though he didn't seem to care, he was still judging.
I found Moros grinning happily at my attention, "Oh! From your face, it looks like you have no idea about your strength; this is interesting." he changed his sitting position to make it more comfortable, then started looking at me, his eyes had dark circles like the drunk was looking at me.
No, this boy is looking at other parts of my body. Suddenly I looked down to see if the collar of my white shirt and the strap on my chest was loose and showing the tendrils like black nerves were visible. I smoothed my collar and looked up, meeting again with Moros, who was even more surprised than me.
"Your mate rejected you, am I wrong?!" he asked curiously; this was already more than the one question he said earlier.
I wasn't interested in this topic and was still curious about the power of invisibility he was discussing, "Tell me about the power of invisibility you meant earlier." I said a little forcefully to him.
"Wait, I feel that you're going to create an uproar in the association with your current strength. Your mate rejected you for leaving such a bad mark; this is the first time. Is it just your neck?" I ask again to make sure, but now I have lost interest in knowing the power of invisibility, it says.
I then got up from the couch and groomed myself to leave just as the door opened, revealing the figure of Horu, the butler of the minotaur mixed blood in that I know.
"Young lady, master, and madam request you to come home with me to home," he said.
I walked out, following Horu before hearing Moros glance at me, "Be careful. Don't trust anyone until you find out for yourself; no one knows about anyone's heart."
I glanced at him briefly before seeing Ezekiel also looking at me and looking away, Elijah seemed to be asleep in his brother's arms, and I left.
Horu's back looks sturdy, and his body is full of muscles, like among the Minotaur people in general. Two horns as their trademark, but somehow Horu felt different tonight, unlike usual. His aura gave me little goosebumps; Horu glanced at me when I shuddered.
"Is something wrong, young lady?" he asked me; I shook my head and followed him to the front entrance where the trains were.
Strangely, this carriage looks luxurious without the dark whisper symbol: "This carriage does not have the dark whisper three wolf claws symbol!" I said, making a statement; there was one petite minotaur maid with three guards.
"Because of the incident with the cursed stone on the catapult, the master ordered us not to be conspicuous when we brought you home, miss," Horu explained without difficulty.
Unlike Draven, my guard who took part in the cases Mason gave me, I saw these three foreign guards who weren't familiar.
"Kamari, give the fleece jacket to the young lady," said Horu to the minotaur-blooded maid at the side of the main door.
I finally got into the carriage with hesitation.
.....
Ah, my head is a little dizzy.
I slowly opened my eyes when I realized that if my hands were tied behind my back, my mouth wouldn't open. Something covered my mouth, and now I'm on the train.
It's dark here; I can't see anything considering maybe it's already midnight.
I feel deja vu, too; inside the train, it's dark, and only my breathing is heard here, along with the pounding of the carriage wheels and the horses.
"Is that going to happen again?" I said to empty the air.
There's an uncomfortable feeling in my heart, but I can't explain it. Am I freaking out?
How long have I been unconscious? I shifted myself to lean on the side of the carriage. I thought, what is the grudge of the person who kidnapped me? Was this what Liliana and Jacob doing again?
These two names never left my life because only those who intersected with me and hated me lived.
I chose to sleep again, not caring about my safety. I have given up. If today is the day of my death, at least I have done something that might have been impossible to do before.
But the train stopped, and the sound of wood being forced open made me have to open my eyes; a man was carrying an oil lamp with a wrinkled face, and also someone else I knew.
"Hello, young lady; sorry to make you uncomfortable," he said, smiling at me proudly. "You may be shocked, but it's been years of searching for Mason's weaknesses, and you showed up at the last moment of our thinning patience." he continued again before pulling my legs to get closer to him, who looked messy.
