Author's POV
The three people ate silently; not even the sound of cutlery could be heard. This often happened when these three people ate; the man in the chair of the head of the family was Mason Taher. He is Delmira Taher's husband, who has often accompanied Verity in her difficult times for the last few months until now.
Mason has dull gray hair, thick furrowed between his eyebrows and light blue eyes, and an anchor-shaped mustache. His nose is sharp, and his lips are thin. He wiped his lips with the cloth provided, his hands resting on the table to watch Verity slowly put down the cutlery and drink.
Delmira followed her husband, looking at Verity, now staring back at the two married couples.
"Anything you want to say to me?" she asked Delmira and Mason, who were now smiling in response to her question.
Mason shook his head, "I just wanted to make sure you were happy today. I see your skin is getting healthier, your body is filled, and I am thrilled that you are progressing a lot today, too." he said happily, his gaze gentle not as sharp as when he stared at those who do not comply with the rules.
"Yes, today I ate a lot of snacks. How was your day, Mason?"
"Okay, everything's pretty good. There are only a handful of people who force their requests; at least now there is an association that can deal with the desire of customers asking for information," he explained to Verity, who nodded as she started to eat the dessert that the new maid put in front of her.
Delmira smiled, seeing how she was eating; she was happy that Verity was now smiling and talking more. The maids and guards she ordered to look after her also said that Verity was doing more good things, no longer alone, while chanting curses in empty air.
Remembering the difficult times for almost half a year, Delmira often became sad. She had been looking for her for a long time, from large to remote areas, but there was no information until the man called her.
How surprised Delmira was when she saw a helpless body that had almost lost its breath, still holding on to hug a lifeless baby that had lost all its blood. The man with the crown had a majestic blue aura that exerted intense pressure on her to kneel; she was surprised this man stepped in directly for her, who was incompetent in searching for Verity's whereabouts.
His sharp blue eyes looked at Delmira with a frown, but there was sadness in the blue sky in his eyes. Dew tears even fell down his cheek.
"Bring her in immediately, and take good care of her. I'll take a long time to recover," he said, giving Verity in his arms to Delmira."I'll teach them a lesson as long as I recover my strength again. Please, I beg as her father. Please take good care of her until I come." he continued pleadingly and even knelt to kiss Verity's forehead, who was still unconscious.
It was the longest sentence he had ever heard as her subordinate, and the man reentered the forest. He could only walk from forest to forest without getting any farther out; the laws of his race had restrained him ever since that incident.
Delmira raised her hand to rub her head, "I'm so happy to see you smile; you're beautiful. Smile often." Verity nodded her words.
After eating, the three returned to their respective rooms; Verity sat on her bed, staring at the sky from the window. The room is on the second floor; the mansion has three feet. While the maid is at the back of the house that connects to the first mansion, even now, she doesn't know how many rooms are used or unused.
Verity couldn't sleep; every night, it was always like this. And every night she tries to call a name that has long lost her voice, Natalie doesn't answer.
"Natalie, are you there?" There was absolutely nothing from her. "Hey, I'm alone here. It feels empty and sad; my life has no meaning. I do this and that, but it all feels... in vain. Even to sleep, I can not. I'm afraid to close my eyes…" she said in the empty air.
Verity bent her knees and rested her head on the knees she hugged, the moon grew higher, and night took the highest throne tonight, which made her involuntarily close her eyes from the sleep that forced her.
.....
The two people slowly entered Verity's room; they heard howling from her room.
They were husband and wife, Mason and Delmira, who were already in tears, seeing Verity's figure clawing at her body, giving off a killing aura for herself.
Aura kills that so large that it was difficult for Mason and Delmira to get close; this killing aura repelled anyone from approaching it. A groan was heard; there was blood on every claw on her body.
Delmira covered her mouth to hold back her tears, "OH, GOD!! MASON!! SAVE HER, NOW!"
Mason held his wife's hand; they walked closer and ordered the guards to stand guard around their adopted daughter's room. "Calm down; we need to calm her down."
"Argh!!!" they didn't know what Verity had dreamed of; she kept screaming against someone approaching her. "Don't!! Stop it, don't touch my son!!! Damn, Jacob! I will kill you!!" it was a string of hateful sentences that pushed Delmira and Mason away even more until they almost fell.
"Mason, please save our daughter..." Delmira started crying, the blood was seeping into the bed, and the aroma was thick.
Mason tried with all his might, the aura of a Luna made him a warrior, and even the strongest assassin had a hard time. His strength hadn't fully awakened yet, but he had trouble getting close to it.
"DO NOT COME CLOSE!!" With that one scream, everyone around, including Mason and Delmira, was blown away, and Verity became hostile to anyone who approached her.
Suddenly an explosion of power occurred; Verity's body floated up with a red halo covering her.
