Chapter 18 - Hardcore training

Alex woke up to the ringing of his new alarm clock. He had set it to 6:30. Rolling over in one of the most comfortable beds he's ever laid in. He shut off his alarm and got up. He looked over and saw a pair of work out clothes obviously laid out for him. They were black and white skin tight sweats. He quickly put them on and was surprised when the shrunk to fit him tightly. It wasn't even uncomfortable it was like wearing his super suit. He doubted it was as defensive as it but it was still very awesome technology. He wondered if he could replicate it. Probably not he wasn't good at making clothes. He hurried down to the dining room he was shown last night. As he arrived he already noticed Bruce sitting at the head of the table. He had a empty seat next to him with a plate of eggs and sausage sitting on it. He didn't even look up from his own breakfast just motioned to it with his fork. Alex walked over and sat down to eat with him.

"You have ten minutes then I expect you in the gym." Bruce said then got up and walked out leaving his empty plate behind. Alex just watched him go without saying a word. He ate his breakfast slowly so he wouldn't get indigestion. After he finished he grabbed both plates and put them in the sink in the kitchen. He then made his way to the gym in the lower basement. It was fully fitted with weight machines, treadmills, pull up bars and some machines he's never seen before. He decided to go to the treadmill first and run his five miles first. Then he do 250 pushups situps and pullups throughout the next four hours.

He started with the treadmill setting it at speed six out of ten. It was just fast enough for him to jog at a decent speed. He slowly turned up the speed for about 40 minutes before he heard the ding saying he ran five miles. He slowly got off the treadmill and walked over to a clear area of the gym floor and started doing pushups and situps. He could only do 50 at a time before he ran out of breath. While he was in-between reps he did ball catches. Dropping balls with one hand behind his back and catching it from chest height.

This allowed him to train his reaction speed. He did about 100 of these each time the. restarted his work out. He finally finished after about two hours of work. He only had to do 20 minutes of mediation and 100 situps. He started with the mediation. It would give him a little time to rest. He left the gym and head to the overgrown garden and mediated in the messy garden.

After about half an hour he made his way back to do the pull ups. He finished 50 of them in a row then ran some more on the treadmill. Since only his legs weren't overly tired. However he actually got a warning.

{ Warning host is going over recommended workout per day. This can cause I'll effects to hosts body. It's recommended hosts sticks to the plan.}

Alex immediately stopped what he was doing and instead just waited for his arms to feel again and started to do more pull-up.

{Congratulations to host for completing training mission easily. Due to host achievements of easily following advice and understanding the need to strength himself. He will be award a life skill. Checking hosts environment. Scanning.... scanning.... scanning. Scan complete host is detected to be over a magic hot spot. Location under garden in backyard. Mediation here is doubled in effectiveness. Skill found to help host. Plant management- A skill that allows the wielder to grow and managed magical and non magical plants. Comes with one free herb gift pack. }

Alex looked at the message in confusion. "Hey system what's life skills?"

{"Life skills are ability that revolve around Life classes aka Blacksmithing, Alchemist, Rune craft, Scholar, Farming, Woodcutting/shaping. There's more but you can't access them yet due to not being advanced enough. You should pick one of two and focus on them. I recommend Farming and a subclass of Alchemist called potion making. It would allow you to advance your healing skills and buff others."}

Alex nodded at the advice from the system. He has a feeling that his healing skills would always give him a advantage in combat. What's scarier then a enemy that could get back up after a few seconds of healing not just him but his whole team. It be even better if he didn't have to heal them himself every time. He only had a limited amount of mana and he can't use it every time someone gets injured or he wouldn't be able protect himself.

"How do I start with get my life classes?"

{"You just need to start doing what the class entails. Start by cleaning up the garden with your new skill and then plant your new packet of seeds. Anywhere in the garden is good since it's a mana zone. Then use the plants that grow and then try to combine them in a potion. I suggest you use your healing skills while doing it to help make potions. "}

Alex figured he better get started. He walked back to the garden outside. Before he could reach it though he was stopped by Bruce standing outside the door.

"Combat training now!"

What followed was two hours of getting his butt handed to him by Bruce. He couldn't even land a single hit on him. He would always dodge or deflect even flip over him. It was honestly scary how agile he was. Alex was fully tired by the end. He was also covered in bruises that he used healing hands to get rid of. Alex was hurting bad luckily they were done and lunch was ready. It was a nice toasted sandwich and some chips. He also had a glass of juice. He had to admit that Alfred was very good at his job. He wonder why he didn't have his own butler in his past life. After lunch and thirty minutes to wait for him to feel unstiff. He walked to the back garden.
