Chapter 25 - Time passed

{Arthur note: I realized that Stage dont sound too good when talking about the power system or how strong a person is, so I'm changing it to ascent. It feels more natural to me., it was either that or Nadir; if I used that, some of you would have accidentally said the N-word}

The cold morning breeze brushed against Amala's cheek; her Short, curly brunette hair waved in the wind.

Two weeks had passed since they tried to investigate Elijah's disappearance.

Amala stood in front of a Gothic-style Apparment complex. "Haven't we searched this place enough?" Asked Elliot in a worried tone. Amala turned to face Elliot; his short black hair covered his eyes.

The wind blew at him, revealing a pair of Green eyes. "No, I don't think we have searched enough….we have checked everywhere, yet I can't find him. is it my fault?" Amala asked, Tears slowly flowing down her eyes as she faced Elliot.

"No," answered Elliot, "none of this is your fault….we barely knew him but…I care for him; honestly, he reminded me of when I was younger. do you remember that time?" Asked Elliot. He wiped off Amala's tears as she nodded.

"yes..I remember those times. Back then, it was fun; your mom would make sliced mutton chops with some sort of special gravy…she would make them every Sunday," Amala recounted.

Elliot nodded and then spoke, "We may have lost what we had back then, but there's still a chance for us to save him. but to do that, you need to rest…" Elliot said with a calm demeanor.

The two left the street they headed toward the church, but they saw something very unusual. The two saw a man with a bony structure. It was like he hadn't eaten in days; Elliot walked over then asked softly, "Are you-" Before he could ask, the man ran into an alleyway. it was in the middle of the morning, but somehow the man disappeared (could he be part of the walker oath?) Amala thought she wiped her eyes and then chased after the skinny man.

"it's illegal to have an oath without being part of a church. Does this skinny man have some connection to a cult?" Amala inquired. The two chased after the man "I wouldn't continue if I were you," a womanly voice said from above. The two looked up to see a woman with long blonde hair and deep blue eyes. She wore a red dress covered in rose patterns. This was a style from the Burns region, the Songster territory.

"… Who are you people?" Elliot asked. The woman jumped down and landed a few feet away from them. She walked up to the skinny man and then slapped him across the face. The slender man looked at the woman wonderfully, but the woman beat him again. In a few seconds, the thin man was gone (…what just happened?) Amala thought.

"My name is Diana; it's a pleasure to meet you," Diana said. She held her hand out, wanting someone to shake it, but no one did. Amala spoke with a severe demeanor. "Are you all in some sort of group?" Diana rubbed her chin and answered, "Sort of,….do you want some information ?" Diana asked. Elliot and Amala both glanced at each other for a moment. Elliot spoke, "What kind of information do you have ?".

Diana chuckled, then spoke in a soft voice, "We might have some information on where that boy you're looking for is.." Elliot and Amala dawned a shocked expression (is it possible that she knows where he is? This can't be Victoria and Bruce are still searching for which den he's in..).

Amala calmed herself with a slow breathing technique; she then spoke, "How are we supposed to trust that you have that type of information?" Diana pursed her lips, then chuckled "I don't care if you believe me; this is all up to you. But if you want to know more, follow me," Diana walked deeper into the alleyway. Elliot walked closely to Amala.

"do you think what she says is true?" Elliot inquired under his breath. Amala paused momentarily, then answered, "i don't know. We have been searching for weeks but haven't found anything. The few dens we've looked in have no sign of life. This woman is our only league, if what she says is a lie then we can capture her later".

The group reached a door in a wall. Diana knocked on the door three times; in the next moment, it opened with a blending light. "What the?!" Amala and Elliot were both blinded by the morning; it left them staggered for a few moments. Once their vision returned to normal, they saw they were in the wilderness. Diana waved her hands toward them. she was singling them to follow. "What the hell was that?" Elliot asked. Amala answered with an anyone tone, "This woman doesn't trust us as much as we thought".

Elliot and Amala walked closely behind Diana; they spent the entire time walking. Within that time, Elliot and Amala talked, but though they spoke silently, Diana could hear everything. in a few minutes, they entered an opening that revealed a half-destroyed village filled with moss and vines overgrown with plants. "Is that a den?" Elliot asked. Diana nodded, then spoke, "i discovered this den a few days ago; on the outside, it seemed to be normal but once i noticed the secret about it i stopped myself from trying to go in".

Amala and Elliot gazed at the destroyed village. They noticed a reddish sort of aura around it. The atmosphere was telling them if they got anywhere even closer, then they would perish "So the secret is that it's from the lost era…" Aked Amala, Diana slowly applauded Amala, then added. "the witches of Dawn's goal is still unknown, but something tells me that it has to do with the lost era….or something else."

Elliot asked, his breath shaking. "How sure are you that Elijah is in there?, How sure are you that he is still alive?" Diana answered effortlessly," I'm very sure he's in there". Amala spoke expressionlessly, "if he is in there, then why wouldn't you try to get him out?, you seem strong enough to do it yourself."

Diana chuckled and then answered, "Why would I risk my life to save a nobody like him?. i don't think you have heard of this but most men, after they graduate college, either end up with a good job or they end up in a cult, or better yet, sacrificed to something." Diana scoffed and answered, "Then why would you show us this den". Diana sighed; she flicked her wrist in a moment; they were in a bright room that looked like it could hold a gathering. A man in a brown coat was sitting in a black leather chair he had a clown mask on his face, his eyes were blocked out, so was his hair, he had a well-built body.

"so are you the ones that's been snooping around?" the man inquired, his tone calm. Elliot answered, "What are you, people?" Diana spoke with a grin on her face. "You decide to ask that question? really?" She sighed and then walked out of the room through a door that just appeared.

(This guy must be an Asscienion Crusader) she thought to herself, the man looked at her. Although she couldn't see his face, she knew he was looking at them. Elliot spoke, "It just feels obvious to say that you are the current leader of this…..organization. What exactly do you know about the witches of dawn?" the man got up from his seat, holding a tall wine glass in hand he summoned a wine bottle.

it was the type of brand that people in high society would drink. (he's drinking Echelonné Reserve; could he be a duke of some great house?) Amala thought. The man poured the bottle till the glass was halfway, then sat back in his chair." I know a lot about them; you could say I'm on your side in this matter…" the man said in a relaxed tone; he took a small sip of the wine then he spent a few moments basking in the flavor then swollen it.

"….so sent one of your… employees to search for our friend so that you could find the Witches of Dawn?" Amala asked. The man nodded and then spoke with a calm demeanor. "Since we are on the same side on this matter, I hope we can work together to stop the witches of dawn," the man said joyfully. The three smiled at each other for a few moments; the man grabbed at the air and then threw it apart. It was like reality had become a piece of paper for him. In a few moments, the two were in the alleyway where they had chased that skinny guy "… He must be from the Soothsayer oath …he must be...either a demigod or a saint. how could a powerful person like that go unnoticed by the inquisitor?" Elliot inquired.

Amala looked at the sky; it was a clear blue sky with no cloud in sight. "Bruce and Victoria must have given up by now," Amala said. She walked out from the Alleyway then. Elliot replied, "Knowing those, two they probably went to the bar the entire time," Elliot said with a smile on his face. "now that we know where he is we can send some of the inquisitors to that den to find out more about it" Amala replied.

"no, I don't think we should do that; that man is a demigod..more like ascent, three more likely. He would have checked it out himself. I guess that the place is highly corrupted and being there would be bad for him….so us also going there would be death for us.I suggest finding a way to purify Elijah once he gets out.." Amala said. Elliot walked closer and then slapped her back. "What was-" Elliot cut her off as he said, " I have a feeling that he won't be in the right mental state after he gets out….that's if he still alive….all we can do is hope that he somehow gets out."
