Elijah rolled onto his back and then slowly picked himself up. His body trembled from the pain. The environment around him rumbled as the large silk clump trashed around with a giant fallen.
All nearby fallen were in that battle. "Otto…h..have any ideas?" Elijah said in a raspy voice. He held his chest with his right hand while he struggled to walk to a nearby building. He managed to sit on the ground. (that thing punches very hard….. I don't think I would survive that.)
A few minutes passed, and Otto said in a calculative voice, 'That attack was easy to see through, but that could be a trap. It wields a great sword yet swings it like it doesn't exist. If you didn't dodge that slash, half of your head would be gone,' Otto remarked.
Elijah added with a raspy voice, "We could beat it…" Otto replied, 'So we have the same idea'.
Elijah got out of the building, in the distance, he saw large clumps of strings fighting a giant monster with milky white horns with a jacked-up body; the beast had blackish scales and its skin purple.
(here we go….) he thought. Elijah raced to the fight; on the way, he met up with some weaker fallen whom he managed to care for. [Ball of fire] Elijah called out in an ethereal voice.
The surrounding air shifted as sparks came to life in Elijah's palms. He traced Fallen Dynasty with his flamed fingers, then struck at the giant beast, his sword went through the beast.
It wasn't as damaged, but it was annoyed.
"uegghhhhhh"
The fallen screamed at the top of its lungs. Elijah raced back to the dome-like church, the beast threw bolder at him half the time. He managed to dodge it, but he slipped up. After running for a few minutes, the monster threw a building at him.
"Fuck!"
Elijah cursed, and the building crashed into the floor, creating a wide-filled dust cloud. Elijah was knocked back by the force he was a few meters away from the church. (Not there yet) Elijah dug his fingers into the ground and dragged himself into the church.
The fallen and large string crashed into the church.
The church was filled with a heavy dust cloud. Elijah struggled to pick himself up, and desperately, he crawled to a nearby corner. It was dark, and the darkness hid him somewhat since he was on the floor. But the building got crashed into, so the hiding spot will be gone once the dust cloud clears.
Elijah watched closely, observing the dust clouds every movement.
*Bam
the floor rumbled as something heavy fell back (did my plan already fail?!) Elijah hurriedly rose to his feet and then rushed to the end of the church. There were some missing murals, but he didn't mind it. Within a few moments, he was in the back of the church, hiding in an armoire.
Filled with tension, Elijah's arm brushed against a coat. Withing the coat, he felt something was quite off, so he searched it (please be something good) Elijah thought inwardly.
He dug into the pocket to find a note, and it was in the Eldral language. Elijah had studied it for a short while, but he had yet to understand a complete sentence; he was about to ask Otto when he heard an otherworldly scream it was just for a moment, but Otto yelled, 'Cover your ears!
Elijah slammed both of his palms into his ears. A nauseating feeling filled his core; he almost puked, but he kept it inside.
He spoke softly under his breath, "Is….is it over?" Otto paused momentarily, then answered, 'Yes, you didn't have to do that to your ears. You could have used blade of wind to at least muffle the sound around you,' Elijah replied, his voice still slightly raspy. "You said to cover my ears, so I did the best I could come up with."
(Does Blade of Wind has that many uses?... maybe I could…..no with how strong that punch was, there's no doubt it has spirit sense, so there's no use in hiding it probably still dealing with that silk clump)ELijah added inwardly.
He muttered under his breath as he held the yellowish goatskin paper," Can you understand this language?".
Otto was silent for a few long moments, then spoke; his voice carried an air of mystery. 'It says, may the great ones fall, let the king return to his throne, let the knight free the people, let the king of redemption destroy the chains of fate, let the black city see the dawn of sunlight, let the monarch- that's were the writing starts to change, even with my extensive knowledge do not know what the rest of the note says.'
Elijah absorbed the information slowly, trying to make sense of it. "Black city..." The name stood out to ELijah he rubbed his chin, and he could feel himself getting closer to the truth of the reason he was brought here and who brought him there in the first place.
(could this black night be from the dark city? Could this den have originated from the dark city? Does being from a different world bring me closer to this place….but that was the witches of dawn…. she did say that this place was highly courpited...).
Elijah was at a pause. His thoughts were stuck in a wormhole of information, and then, at that moment, a striking pain priced his head. It felt like a needle-like object had gone through his temple. He fell out or the armoire and then rolled around the floor, crying in pain.
Elijah's head slowly started to crack open from the pain. Black, slimy meat tendrils squirmed out of the cracks. They flowed out as if they were finding something to hold on to through the pain, Elijah muttered inwardly (could this be a sign that I've known too much!).
Knowing too much in this world could get you killed. Elijah knew that knowing too much would be dangerous from the journal he had obtained from the original ELijah, and he had never expected him to be in this situation.
In this craziness, Elijah heard drowned-out voices calling to him. They only repeated a few words:
"save us!"
"Let us go."
"you are not protecting us!"
The last voice stood out to Elijah, but he couldn't think about it now. The pain rose even more; he was about to scream even louder when he felt a healing sensation wash over him like that time he was about to die to that monster that had fought him with the sniper rifle.
The pounding in his head slowly faded, but the slight crack marks on his face remained. Elijah rose to his feet, the floor rumbling. He could hear the clash going on. Elijah, still in pain, inched closer to the sound it was outside of the church.
The giant silk clump was fighting the black knight; upon closer inspection, ELijah saw a pocket watch around the knight's neck. The knight fought with grace, yet at times, whenever the silk was to hit a building, the knight would block the attack before the surroundings would get hurt.
"its protecting it?….you are not protecting us…" Elijah mumbled; he fired his brow and then rushed to the fight. His body was in a hellfire of pain, but he pushed himself. They weren't close, but he got in range so the black night could hear him.
"The people of this land are long gone, the king is gone, and there is nothing to protect. the people's soul wants to rest, let them rest!" Elijah yelled with all his guts.
The knight didn't seem to care it kept fighting the large clump of silk-like string. The black knight swung its great sword cleanly at an open area, creating dust clouds blocking everything from view. When it cleared, the large clump was cut in two.
In the middle, it revealed a red gem; it was tiny '...it lost control because it didn't get the amount of blood it needed, and it was being purified every hour, it must have fully lost control once that presence appeared,' otto stated.
The gem cracked, and countless shards scattered away. The knight, however, wasn't in a good condition. Its armor was heavenly damaged. Its helmet had a large crack, the chest piece had a large gash on the right side, and one of the arms was missing.
The knight brought the great sword nigh high; it was a few meters away, but somehow, Elijah knew it could easily gap that seed within a few seconds. Elijah pulled Fallen Dynasty from the sheath and brought it up to his chest, with the blade facing the knight.
"The people of this place…they want to rest….. you're not protecting them… you're trapping them in an endless nightmare," Elijah said softly; the knight reacted a bit but not enough to the point where it would drop the great sword.
