I stepped out, my hands raised and a smile plastered on my face. "let me give you one final offer, and trust me it will be beneficial to you"
"And what is that?" asked Celia, she attended my moments, carefully as well as Scott's.
That dude was stuttering, and why he wouldn't be, after all, this time his neck was on the line.
"you do not have to fight at all, just take everyone's stuff and leave. Everything will be yours without risk and without losing anything in return" I offered, their eyes widened. "Think about it, my lady, without doing anything you will earn ten of a thousand gold coins as well as a sword that will make you immortal. The ruler of this very land."
Bleh! Ruler. Anyway, I need to butter her more so she can get more eager to hold it in her hands.
Every single person was tight-lipped. No words were exchanged but their eyes were showing a reaction of astonishment as well as fear.
Was that even possible? Maybe this was what they were thinking but I clapped my hands breaking their daze.
"as far as we comprehend, Scott and I wish the best for you, especially Scott. So what's there to think?"
Bandits were in awe but snapped out of it and looked at me with greed.
I turned to my friends. Now I need to prove to them with my actions that my every word was true, I was going to make them richer without lifting a finger.
"Guys, please will you give me your rings?" I requested softly.
They kept quiet for some time but then agreed to do what I had told them to do.
I collected three rings, Amalia's Rex's, and mine. I was glad they trusted me, all this time I had spent with them was well worth it.
I slowly walked to the Bandits, head lowered. Trying to show them I came in peace. I would have raised a white flag if I had one.
My hand outstretched it to Celia. "All we have is weapons, and the rest is yours. I hope this will satisfy you, my lady."
Her lips curved up, eyes sparkled.
The face of greed.
There was no way she would reject this offer, I mean Someone is offering her the money without doing anything why she would refuse?
She took the rings from me, scanning them. Probably checking what was inside. She looked happy and excited.
I backed away, slowly.
Scott eyed me as his complexion twitched.
"Now it's Scott's turn to honor the promise" I commanded, a smirk forming on my face.
"What promise? I never vowed anything but you stupidly gave away everything? Are you out of your mind?" he shouted looking at Amalia and Rex.
They rolled their eyes in response.
"It doesn't matter, yes. It does not." He turns to the bandits. His eyes were as if searching for acquaintance with them. "Just like I promised, you got their stuff. Now help me to kill them... Dan"
I shook my head in disappointment. "Budd, you are still not getting it, do you? They are here to make a profit not to make a connection. It's obvious fighting with us will give them nothing but pain or probably death but on the other hand if you refuse to comply then it will be bad for you... I mean three vs one. No chance"
Scott froze like a boulder.
Bandits turned to him slowly as Celia's hungry eyes landed on the red blade.
"I want that sword" She smiled, clutching rings in her hand tightly.
Losing my ring had done nothing to me as it was completely useless for me and it was also empty But on the other hand, Rex and Amalia probably had much to lose if my plan did not work.
"shut the fuck up, bitch" Scott responded. "I don't want to talk to someone like you. Dan answered me, why are you falling into their trap? We need to stick together as we planned. I can't possibly face them alone" Scott spoke out cautiously, trying to come out as clean as possible.
Dan did not react nor did the other guy. Celia lowered her head, and the voice shook.
"my loves, were you going to listen to that bastard and stay quiet while he keeps babbling? I am disappointed in you two. You can't even give me a sword."
Dan spoke. "My love I will handle things you don't have to bother."
"Right, money is above everything and how can we let go of this fat ship who is more fragile than me get away," the other one said stepping forth.
Scott's whole body trembled. Veins popped on his forehead as he glanced at me.
I shoved him a middle finger, sensing he was about to say something but thankfully he flared more.
"Fine, I will kill this guy first and then deal with you" He dashed at them.
I heaved a sigh of relief. This was the first time I had seen a beacon of hope. Our chances of victory were above eighty percent and it's more likely we don't even have to fight for that.
Their battle raged on with violent clashes of swords and curses while Rex and Amalia looked elated and grateful.
They were grateful that the battle did not turn in their enemy's favor but in theirs.
Living as Adventurers, they might have an idea of what would have happened if we were to fight against them.
I was the happy one because I knew what would have happened and how but thankfully my plan worked. I fucking did it. I finally managed to change the course of destiny.
"Thanks, you saved us" Amalia spoke softly.
"It is not over yet" I replied, watching their battle. I was smiling so were they.
"it will be over, I will make sure of it" Rex answered back patting my back. "I owe you one"
Scott was truly no joke, he was a cunning and sharp-minded opponent but what made him so potent was his sword. The red sword that was healing him in the middle of battle.
The trio was having trouble dealing with him due to the effect of the sword. The more they get hurt by his sword the more his wounds heal.
He was holding his own against the three battle-crazed bandits, it was truly admiring but fuck him. He has to die and that's my verdict, no sword or god can stop his death.
"My lady, I believe, you used all the potions inside our rings?" I shouted, taking their attention away from the battle.
Celia was injured as well as the other two. I guess they had run out of potions due to a raging fight with Scott. It was getting harder for them to keep up with him, as the effect of the sword was terrifying.
She did not respond.
"If you want help, my guy can do it for you," I said as Rex grinned.
" No need we will handle him" Replied Dan and then whispered something in his friend's ears.
"Suit yourself"
"They are still on guard against us, "Amalia said taking a seat by my side. "this will go on for a long time"
"Scott is not an easy foe and neither is it easy to defeat him while he has that sword." Rex was deep in thought probably trying to find a way to deal with Scott.
"Can you take him out?" asked Amalia looking at Bandits.
He shook his head. "killing him in one shot is the only way to deal with him but I am not capable of doing that, and dragging battle will only lead to his victory due to that sword." He mentioned taking a seat to my left.
"So there is no way? Asked Amalia.
"There is" I let out, sluggishly.
They both turned to look at me, amazed.
"My lady, if you want I can give you the best advice to take care of that trash" I shouted again, this time Scott also glanced at us.
His face was filled with hostility.
Celia nodded as well as Bandits. Everyone was ready to hear my wise words.
Puhh- isn't it obvious?
"Cut his hands so he could no longer hold his weapon that way he won't be able to heal." I loaded.
"That's hideous" let out Amalia.
Rex laughed. "But it will work like a charm"
I saw diverse expressions on their faces. They finally got their target and a spot where they could hit.
I bet Scott would have vomited blood by my words. That's for calling me kid you bastard.
"Guys get ready, the moment Scott's hand cut off its cue to jump in" I reminded them secretly.
I can't wait to finish this shit that Scott started. Just wait and I would have to send my regards to my lady first you know for the sake of saying...
Ladies first.
