Chapter 4
Jake Pov:
The man charges me, and from the looks of it he ain't gonna hold back. I instinctively put up my arms before I even realize I did. Then I get hit, but this time it feels like it was from a Giant. Not that I know much about them other than extreme strength from the books.
I am thrown back probably around 50 feet where I hit the barrier that Amelia had set up. Looking around I notice that Night stayed out with Rider and that Hunter is watching with Emma and the other. "You shouldn't look away or get yourself distracted in battle kid!," Sebastian yells bringing me back to the present.
He is right beside me and throws another punch, and again my body instinctively reacts. As I cough up blood I think this man is no joke, he could be a monster for all I know, an S class Adventurer. I land and regain my balance taking up a fighting stance. I'm not even wearing my armor!
Sebastian just starts walking towards me so I start backing up keeping a distance of 25 feet. That should let me know if he is going to attack or not. But next thing I know my arms are moving to my left again to block. Then Sebastian is there and punches me yet again.
I cough up blood yet again and wonder, what is this with his speed! Its off the charts! As well as his Strength, just what is he?!
Hunter Pov:
"Looks like he is just playing with him currently. Why did you bring them anyway, Rider?," I ask seeing that Sebastian is by no means planning on training my brother.
"Well, knowing that you guys are actually Dire wolves and not the wolves you claim to be. I figured the best way to train would be actual Combat. You might not know it yet kid, but Dire wolves have a innate talent in every generation. That ability is to learn and adapt to the fight and start countering, see!," Rider says pointing as my brother manages to dodge for the first time.
"An another thing, Dire wolves are said to only be born when a great battle is to come, well it is said at least. My guess is it has something to do with the Kingdom of Jones or some other place. From what I know, that brother of yours will stop it, he is a apostle after all, isn't he?!," Rider says surprising me after Emma had gone off with Amelia. I hadn't told anyone because that was the reason we were here to begin with.
"How did you know the gods offered him that, Rider, and if you tell him that, I will kill you myself!," I say letting out my murderous intent fueled by my love for my brother. Just from it everyone around me stops, even Sebastian and Jake. I guess I went overboard so I stop and they continue after some light talk.
"I already know that, I found out because, well you remember the thing Jake asked about in that book. We are apart of that, we have spies everywhere and we found out that a family was going to be targeted. So we sent two friends without knowing the details to run through an area and help the family in danger. I didn't think that they would leave you here, this place is to dangerous! Yet somehow you survived all on your own. Though I am also wondering how you hid that status and other things, continuing. Jones was planning on using you to conquer the world due to the Power you held in the past. Dire wolves used to be abundant in this forest years ago, but they were hunted and the last went into the Deadliest dungeon. The dungeon you are living in," Rider says.
"The reason that it is called that is because it has over fifteen floors. Due to it being in the forest of monsters it is the biggest dungeon. But nobody ever finds the way past floor fifteen, so it is considered a training dungeon. Nobody can make it past there, but due to my family's past I know how big it is. That is the difficulty of the monsters that nobody makes it past level fifteen. It is also the reason we made it into a training dungeon, To help prepare our allies. I am going to leave the thing for Jake on the tenth floor so he doesn't go to deep." Rider continues surprising me.
"It has a total of twenty-five floors, each with a more difficult monster. The Dire wolves using their power cleared out the second floor, making it so no monster dared to venture there. Deerhounds are on the first floor, Goblins and Golems are on the 3rd, Those were set up by the Dire wolves for training. The rest of the information on the other floors are unknown. In a few months when Jake makes it to the bottom of the tenth floor, I am going to send someone somewhere. They will say that two Beast-kin of unknown origins are stuck in the Forest of Monsters. The closest Margrave may come to help, or you guys can rescue him when he comes to stop the next flood of monsters out of the forest. The only person to make it to the bottom of the dungeon, was a man referenced to as Jake the Survivor," Rider finishes.
"Do the latter, it would be better than having him know we are here. Plus it would not make it seem like we are super human as the humans would say about you," I finish laughing.
"Yeah, and funny thing, nobody know this dungeon exists due to how long its been since an outsider came in here. Well, it looks like their done, well it is your turn now Hunter!," Rider says as he pushes me in as Amelia and Emma carry my brother out. Just what am I in for now!
