Chapter 9 - Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Narrator Pov:

A week had gone by since Sebastian and Amelia had arrived. It was time for them to head back home to Gamerton. Jake and Emma had made improvements in their fighting and power. Hunter had learned a bunch of spells to use in case of emergency.

All of the children on the other hand had learned Martial arts. An Jake had finally decided to head into the Dungeon with Night. After he headed in though Rider said to Hunter, "He will pass without problem, I just hope he doesn't get hit by the monster on the tenth floor."

"What do you mean?," Hunter asked back.

"The monster on the tenth floor is a Silver coat Bear with Poison. It is an A-class monster and the boss of that floor. It's poison is Deadly so I hope he avoids it. I know he can defeat it as he wrestled that Great wolf which is considered higher into submission," Rider finishes.

"Ok, but he hasn't dealt in any poison as you said. I just hope he can take care of himself this time," Hunter says.

"What do you mean by that, Hunter?," Rider questions him curious.

"One time a while back I found him seriously injured outside. He got healed up by the time you arrived back, but he still had hypothermia. Being up here in the glacier didn't help either. It was during the winter season so it was extra cold, its currently summer so the ice has melted, slightly, but not the stuff covering us up there. But you get what I am saying, right?," Hunter says revealing stuff about the current location.

"Yeah, I get that bud," Rider responds.

Moving out into the atmosphere we get a better look at where they are at. It is almost at the bottom of a mountain range, its up by a few miles, covered by a glacier. It is normally covered in snow and ice and below that down the mountains giant forests. Those forests are where the monsters live, but the higher up the mountain, in the darker, colder, and deadlier forests, there are more dangerous monsters.

This place is not normally investigated due to the glacier in the winter. The winter is about to start up to which the entire area they are in will be surrounded. It would become an impenetrable fortress, but also an inescapable prison.

We go back into the dungeon to Jake. He has cleared the 8th floor and most of the ninth. He is about to reach the final room, lets see what happens from his perspective.

Jake Pov:

I had already defeated the other monsters and was about to what should be the final room. Nothing has been that challenging so far, I wonder what is in the boss room. I reach a giant door with a stone carving of a Giant Bear. It is lined with Silver on its coat and around fifteen feet high.

I grab the door handle and pull it open to see, a Giant purple snake, not as the door depicted. This one seems tough, but just how tough will it be? I grab my sword in my right hand and my shield in my left hand. I choose these as Rider said that they were a basic loadout. The snake has a head where it should be and one on its tail.

I walk slowly forward as the one head looks at me and the other continues to eat something. As I am about 20 feet away the first head lunges faster than I thought it could. I jump back grabbing Night who was with me to avoid its fangs. This thing is more powerful than I thought, it definitely is an AAA class.

It continues to do lunging attacks, its other head joining in with it. I can't do anything but dodge, is what would have happened two weeks ago. But thanks to Sebastian's training I am much faster now. I send Night back to the door in case things go south and I advance. I run around the circular room with the snake following.

If I am correct, if I slowly move in, it shall follow. And eventually I will be in-between its heads, an it may bite its own head? Its a theory but I am testing it out. I do it and eventually come to that point but instead it just stops and I almost run into the mouth! I jump back but not before grazing something, I don't really get a good look.

I take my sword as I am jumping back and cut out the back ones throat since it grazed me. Now it is just the front head, that should be no problem since it is already bleeding. I try to move away as it lunges but am delayed for some odd reason. I barely manage to dodge it somehow, but what is happening.

I must've grazed the back ones fang and got hit by some Venom! I need to be more careful from now on. I charge sidestepping to avoid its lunge and slice its head off. Well now that that is done, I should head back up, Say where... is... Night?

Narrator Pov:

As Jake falls down from the poison Night arrives with Hunter and Rider. You see Night had run off as soon as Jake had been grazed to get help. Now this is a Basilisk, it has slow acting poison that makes you go immediately unconscious. Now Jake was very lucky that he did not meet a original Silver coat bear, its poison is fast acting but easier to treat.

But meanwhile almost 100 miles away in a city called Arbigagan. That city is where the margrave, Samuel rules over his territory in the Tribes of Strike. Samuel is a Beast-kin wolf and he is in charge of defending the kingdom from monsters in the mountains. He has Red hair and green eyes

The monsters come down from the mountain slowly as the glacier moves in. They actually come down faster during that time and it is coming around again. The first thing he does is Evacuate the Karainaya Hot-springs. He does not know much of what goes on in those mountains, but his territory covers the entirety of the mountains in the Strike kingdom.

Samuel was talking with his Knight commander Thomas and Butler Willie. But little did he know was three young kids were listening in. "So you want the knights to go up and stage at the hot-springs in case monsters come down. An if there are no signs, we should slowly make our way up to find where they are to get ready. Is that correct Samuel," Thomas asks the Margrave.

"Yes, and make sure Hannah, Henry, and the visiting Prince Theodore do not find out. They have all been asking to go monster hunting and this is the bad season for it. An if I let a royal prince get hurt it will look bad for the town," Samuel says as Theodore, Hannah, and Henry were listening in.
