Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Chapter 10

Narrator Pov:

You see Theodore grew up being a friend of the Margraves son. They went together to school from five to when they got baptized over one year prior. That was the same time that over 100 retired Holy Knights went missing. Sadly their whereabouts are unknown.

Theodore hearing about the possible monster hunting, had been with his friends when hearing it. His friends were the margraves two children, Henry who was nine, and Hannah who was seven. They also loved to monster hunt as that was the type of village that they were, a hunting village.

Also knowing that they could get a chance to go to the famous Karainaya hot-springs. Those hot-springs went up to 110F in the summer, and when the glaciers came in they were the perfect temperature of around about 100F. Knowing what they could do they decided to continue to listen to the conversation.

"So when should we leave Samuel?," The Knight commander asked.

"I would suggest in one month about a week before it will start moving down. Also please keep this on the down low, if any of the kids, maids, or butlers ask, it is a trip to reinforce the border," Samuel says to the Knight commander and head butler Alfred.

After hearing that the kids sneak out of the room using a secret passage. Samuel has them all over the residence in case of an attack to escape. Even if Samuel was a AA rank adventurer, he can't do everything, even with his knight order which is mostly Holy knights in training. Being a Margrave he was allowed 100 Holy knights in his army in case Jones attacks and to defend from monsters.

His city is home to many retired Holy knights due to its closeness to the hot-springs. It also helps that they love to protect their nation. When the king had heard about the Beast-kin Dire wolves, that they knew, being hunted for by jones he contacted Samuel. Knowing that they couldn't let it get to light due to the dangers, they sent in 100 Retired soldiers who said. "Our lives are almost over, so send us, we have no value," The king and Samuel were heartbroken by the comment, and sent them in, mourning. Even if they did not like it, they were the best that there was. Another reason for the knights being there is their willingness to form a volenteer army to protect the nation.

Now once the kids got out they immediately went to their favorite place, The hidden attic. It was a normal attic that was forgotten and used by the kids for hiding. "So, after what we heard I am pretty sure we are all thinking the same thing," Theodore says to the other two.

"Yeah, to bad Aaron couldn't come, I know she likes hunting monsters," Hannah says wishing that her friend from school was here. You see Theodore, Aaron, Hannah, and Henry were the top of their classes. That means they often met up, it also helps when your parents have multiple meetings.

"Well, how should we approach this as he said he would not allow us to find out," Henry ponders out loud to the group.

"Well, me being royalty means that I can go where ever I want. But there still are some restrictions, my Knights came here to help during the coming monster attack. So I am supposed to stay in the city, but I may be able to convince my Knight commander to hide us among their luggage. It also helps out that we have a month to prepare for it. So for the time being practice and prepare, for the Hot-Springs!, and the monsters," Theodore finishes with Emphasis on Hot-springs.

An so one month passes by, currently school is out of session due to the dangers of monsters at the time. So there is no school during the winter times and field trips during the summer since monsters are not as common. They seem to like a bit colder weather.

Theodore had managed to convince his knight commander to hide them in the luggage. The noble Trio had prepared a-lot over the month and were ready. But no-one knew if the knights were ready to defend them in the mountains since it was a secret. Theodore had said he would take all the blame in case it got out of hand.

But as soon as they hid, they realized the one thing they forgot, Food! They had not packed any for the 10 hour ride up the mountain. It takes 10 hours since it is around 30 miles and through rugged terrain. So they end up sitting in their hiding area for 10 whole hours uncomfortably.

After half of that time the carriage eventually stops and a knight sneaks food down for them. That surprised them since only the three knew they were there. That is when the trio realized that Theo's Knight commander had a man to take care of them. Even if he was anonymous.

Once they arrived at the hot-springs they realized it was abandoned. Everyone had left due to the monsters coming soon and it was a ghost town. The knights started to unload and as they did they discovered, a shivering trio! They had also forgotten warm clothes being used to warm weather. The knights took them into a steam room to warm up as the Knight assigned to them told them about the request.

Theodore had requested his knight commander to get him here for monster hunting. So he had a friend, the knight, come along to protect them. He also told them where Theo had said if anything bad happened it was his fault. That calmed the men down. Now what will happen?
