Chapter 5
Jake Pov:
I slowly regain consciousness as I blink my eyes open. There is a green aura around me and my sister is over me crying. So I take my hand and place it on her cheek behind me saying. "I'm going to be alright, Emma," To which she cry's more and hugs my head into her chest, not ok. She is using such force, she could break my neck!
Then she stops and I see the person, Amelia, Looking closer, she is an elf. No wonder she was a mage, it is most likely the reason that I feel ok now. She has healing Magic. "What happened, The last thing I remember is after my brother released that bloodlust and I talked to Sebastian I blacked out," I say but then I hear a gasp. "What is it?," I ask.
"You mean to tell me, that for the latter part of that fight you were unconscious!," Amelia exclaims.
"I don't know what you are talking about as I was out remember, mind telling me what you mean," I ask politely.
"After you guys finished talking, Sebastian uppercut's you and you are thrown back. That was when you were knocked out from the looks of it. But you land on your feet and enter a fighting stance. Then from there you continue to dodge Sebastian's attacks and land one on his gut sending him back. But then he gets mad and starts to up the difficulty. Eventually he overpowers you and you are not able to move, mainly because he broke you arms and legs which I healed," Amelia finishes.
"So in other terms, I lost didn't I," I say getting a bit down.
"Technically yes, but the original difficulty we had set was the power of an A rank adventurer. That is what is required to get to the tenth floor of the dungeon. Currently your guy's older brother is fighting him on AA rank difficulty," Amelia says pointing over to the barrier.
Looking closer it is about 100 feet in diameter from the looks of things. It is also a complete Circle, that is very hard to maintain from my knowledge. Looking inside I see Hunter and Sebastian fighting all over the place. Hunter is a much better fighter than me since he is older, but he normally doesn't go into the dungeon so he isn't that good.
Eventually he also gets knocked out but he doesn't get up and do what I did. "Amelia, why didn't he do what I did?," I ask.
"It is mainly because it is a once in a generation ability, if not less. It is almost impossible to do what you did, you have to have an innate ability to survive, and incredible instincts. Sebastian's goal is to draw that out of you, as for your brother it is to train him," Amelia says as she leaves to go heal my brother.
I notice that Emma is now hugging my Torso, probably because of what happened to Hunter. But I am also wondering what happened while I was under? As I am thinking that I don't notice Rider coming over until he is right in front of me.
"Can I help you, Rider?," I ask him since he seemed to want to ask or tell me something.
He sits down and starts saying. "Sebastian and Amelia will be staying here over night. I will be going back as I have matters to attend to. For the next week you will be training with Sebastian along with Emma. Amelia will be training your brother hunter in Magic, and Sebastian will do the same for him with Hand to Hand. Now I already told your brother this, but in a few months, probably about the time you finish the dungeon on the tenth floor at most, the monsters will be flooding out of this forest. A person that can help you will have come to stop it. He is a Beast-kin wolf, a Margrave of the Tribes of Strike. They are not prepared for these monsters, but you are! Take your training to heart and protect those who cannot protect themselves. That is what it means to be a hero after all, that is what you wanted to ask me last week, was it not," Rider says surprising me.
"I'm surprised you found out. I always wanted to be a hero so I could stop what happened to my parents," I say as I pet Emma's head as she falls asleep from crying. "I want to protect what remains of my family and any friends I make along the way," I continue.
"I understand, before you leave the forest I will leave a list with you. It will give you some suggestions to do stuff when you leave. Also I figured I would tell you this so you are not surprised in the future. But I don't know if your brother was ok with me saying this, that was why he lashed out earlier," Rider says.
"Then, he had a good reason, he always does," I tell him lifting Emma up to take to bed as I see Sebastian carrying Hunter.
"It was about the past, and what your remaining family is. Are you sure you don't want to know?," Rider asks curious and Wondering.
"Yes, because he will tell me eventually, or I will find it out for myself. That is all that matters, I am able to discern information and relax in almost any situation. I am extremely calm you could say when learning new things, you have to be when you are me after all. But I will say this, I do not like arguing and yelling, so I would remove myself from that environment. So I am pretty sure it won't come to that, and if something unnormal happens I would leave," I finish as I carry an asleep Emma into the Dungeon and to bed. We haven't had dinner or lunch, yet she is asleep and I am a little bit tired. Probably effects of the magic.
I wonder what this coming week holds for us.
