He has no clue when it started.
Donovan, a silver-haired, low-born fay from Faerie, stumbled on a shocking scene that he couldn't ignore.
A female Fay, who looked suspiciously similar to the princess, was being assaulted in a back ally by a city guard.
Before he could even think about it, he used his inherent tree magic to absorb himself and the princess into the life tree and run away.
But what now? Why was he caught by this suspicious-looking white-haired demon with purple eyes that oppressed Donovan's very being?
********
Earlier that day, it was the early morning of the first weekend of the school year.
Danny planned to sleep until late, but his plans were thwarted when a familiar demoness appeared at his doorstep.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
Danny woke up from the loud knocking sound, and when he opened the door to see who it was, he saw a familiar person.
"Hey, I was thinking maybe you would like to-."
Mira, the red-haired half-demoness adopted into the Baal Clan, started saying, but Danny was too tired.
"Sorry. I already got feelings for another girl."
He said with a yawn and closed the door at his classmate's face.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
The knocks returned, and Danny reopened his house door.
"?"
He was confused at what it was that she could need for him so urgently that she would wake him the day after the tournament at first light.
"What I meant to say is that Master Adrammelech Baal has requested for you to join us on a diplomatic trip to Faerie."
Mira rephrased her words, and Danny sighed.
"When? And do I need to bring anything?"
Danny asked.
"Now, and the master has even prepared clothes for you. So there's no need for you to bring anything."
Mira answered his question, and he was bewildered out of his mind.
How long was this trip planned? Why wasn't he informed beforehand?
Before he could put his thoughts together, Mira pulled him by the collar to a limousine that waited not far from the entrance.
********
Inside the limousine, there was probably an extremely advanced expansion magic item that made the insides as large as a mansion with rooms for all the passengers, even the servants.
"Hi."
Danny lifted his hand as he saw the Baal elder who demanded his presence on this trip.
"Daniel! How happy I am to see you've joined us. I'm certain you already know what Faerie is, right?"
The old demon said happily.
He was sitting on an expensive-looking black leather couch in the living room, not far from the door.
"It's nice to see you too. Just next time, please notify me at least a day before you take me to another realm."
Danny said as he sat on the couch not far from the elder.
"And as for Faerie, how can I not know of the Realm of Fays? A giant tree that houses an uncountable number of spirits made of pure magic."
He added, and the elder chuckled.
This succinct summary of another realm was not something that just any student in Hell could pull out of their ass. They had to be a very learned individual.
This was a short trip through one of the entrances to Hell that was coincidently not far from Danny's house.
It was also the only way to get directly to Faerie from Hell.
Danny's house was on the edge of Hell. As such, the only reason any road would be built close by would be either a large factory or an entrance to Hell.
As they passed through the tunnel, Danny could see the view in the window change from a red wall of magic and rocks to a giant branch of a tree.
"Can you drop me off here?"
Danny asked suddenly.
He felt two magic auras moving nearer and nearer to them and became suspicious that something was wrong.
Adrammelech Baal looked at him with a baffled look but chose to let him be.
"Well, we will be at the palace. We will come back to Hell tomorrow. So make sure to come to the palace today or tomorrow at nightfall."
Adrammelech said.
He heard suspicious rumors that the king of Faerie was going overboard.
Ever since he came to power, that Fay was a tyrant, but the rumor was that he went completely mad. Adrammelech brought Danny along with him because he had an intuition that if anyone could shed light on the situation, it would be him.
So, he had no reason to stop the boy.
"Driver! Stop the car! Mira, you join him."
The elder commanded as the car went to a stop.
Mira and Danny exited the car, and after a short walk, Danny stopped and analyzed the ground.
There was a trick Danny thought of trying for a while but never had as perfect an opportunity as now.
He used his magic vision and locked onto the two auras he sensed earlier.
Mira looked at him curiously as he put the palm of his hand on the ground, and his eyes glowed brightly.
He felt before as he practiced the same spells over and over. When one uses magic, they always use the magic the same way. This realization could be used to learn silent chanting, a skill that Danny has been practicing but was very hard to grasp since he didn't have much magic energy to begin with.
But the second realization could help with the first one. It was that he, unlike most demons, could see the movement of magic as he chanted and manipulated it. So he could practice how to manipulate it and not be bound by spells, words, or his magic capacity. Instead, he could simply control the magic around him to cast spells.
He concentrated on the two auras and could see them as they were drawn by his own will.
This experiment was a success!
Shortly after, two young Fay spawned from the ground in front of the two demons.
A silver-haired, green-eyed boy with ragged clothes was the first to react and stood in front of the other Fay. A girl with green hair, closed eyes, and fair skin dressed in a green dress befitting royalty.
Danny smirked with a devilish smile as he saw the scarred young boy, who was maybe two or three years younger than him, standing up and shielding the girl with his body.
"Who are you?! Why are you helping the guards chase us?!"
He asked.
His face was full of anger.
"Us? Well, I'm Marcuse Bloodborne, the prince of Hell, and this is my companion, Mira Baal. We came here to uproot the corruption in Faerie."
Danny said and saw the boy's expression fill with hope that they might be able to help him.
