'That damned shithead!'
Danny thought angrily on his way to the rooftop.
He knew what Marcuse went through.
Of course, their shitty father put too many expectations on the guy and used Danny's development as an excuse.
Danny's issue was that Marcuse, for even a second, thought that Danny wasn't going through any kind of shit because of their father.
Nicely enough, after getting a fine beatdown, Marcuse had decided to better himself and stop being a shithead.
"Are you serious, Hidoi?! Is your branch really going to launch a coup?!"
A voice was heard from one of the second-year classes.
Danny recognized the name mentioned.
Hidoi. He was a member of the Oni Clan, whom Alya fought in the tournament.
So, if his branch planned a coup d'etat, it would be rather miserable for Momotaro.
Danny used an invisibility spell and sneaked into the classroom to hear the conversation better.
He wasn't sure whether to warn Momotaro, but he would at least offer him refuge if the situation was too severe.
"Shhh. You don't know who might be listening."
Another voice said.
This, too, wasn't Hidoi.
How many students were there?!
The student who warned about eavesdroppers went to the door to check if there was anyone around and was only millimeters away from the invisible Danny.
Most of these students were Oni Clan members, with a few Baal and Greek demons.
Speaking so openly to members of other branches and even clans. How big was this plan?
"When are you planning to strike?"
A Baal demon with a goat head asked.
"Why are you asking?"
Hidoi asked with a suspecting tone.
"I want to aid you. This Momotaro is not only a filthy human but a demon hunter. Imagine him as the head of one of the major clans, or worse! Imagine he becomes the king of Hell."
The Baal demon explained with unprecedented sincerity.
Danny found it hard to believe that people cared this much, but the evidence was right there.
"I will notify you and everyone else who wants later. Just send me a message!"
Hidoi said loudly so that everyone there would hear him.
"Well. Before we disperse, I wanted to ask, should we gift something to that half-human low-level? This plan would have never gone to fruition without him defeating Momotaro. This defeat was what pushed over half the branches of the Oni Clan to support you and your father."
Another guy said.
"If we win, then I'll invite him to be my supporter. I can even offer him a spot in the Oni Clan with an arranged marriage. So his future status would be secured."
Hidoi said confidently.
Hearing these words, Danny didn't know if he should apologize to Momotaro for beating him or thank this bunch for giving him respect.
The white-haired demon sneaked out of the classroom and abandoned his idea of going to the roof.
There wasn't enough time. The class was about to start.
********
Danny walked into class, and the bell rang not a second after.
"Daniel, would you please take your seat?"
He heard a woman's voice from behind.
She had a nitpicking tone, and he could already guess who this was.
Ninimma Baal. A darker-skinned black-haired teacher who resented someone she knew was close to Danny.
And she planned to act based on this resentment.
Before, when the teachers had a meeting to decide whether or not to hold the tournament, Mr. Hades disrespected her quite thoroughly.
She overheard Mr. Hades and Mr. Hephaestus speak about Danny.
Their prodigy student?! Well, there's no way that these arrogant hacks could recognize talent!
This low-level demon must be a moron!
This was her thought process, and Danny was warned about it before.
"Yes. Sorry, I'll go to my seat."
Danny made a disingenuous smile and sat at his spot.
"Okay! Today, I'll teach you about Hell Hounds."
Ms. Ninimma said.
She looked at the class with a smug expression as the students' complexions were of people who knew nothing.
She swept her eyes over the class and saw that all but few had the unknowing reaction she expected.
That white-haired student of Hade's was one of the few...
Her complexion changed from smug to sore, and she decided to quiz the class.
"What do you know about Hell Hounds?"
She asked and expected many hands to be lifted.
There weren't any...
She sighed and fixed her eyes on Danny.
'Let's test if he really is as good as they said.'
She thought to herself.
"You with the purple eyes!"
She shouted, and Danny lifted his head from the book he was reading.
"Eh?"
He didn't even bother listening to her question.
Mr. Hades, as one of the top teachers at the school, had easy access to the teaching plans for the year's first few months.
The old teacher had helped Danny and gave him these records to help him be certain he knew everything already.
"My question. May you please answer it?"
Ms. Ninimma said.
"Sorry. I didn't hear you properly. Can you repeat it?"
Danny requested.
"I could, but I may not. Please answer the question, or you can find your seat next to the principal's office."
She answered with a sneer.
This is what she waited for. An opportunity to humiliate him!
Danny understood what she was doing and decided to play along.
"What is it that you teach?"
He asked with an expression more smug than hers, and she felt stupified.
Where did all that confidence come from?!
"In this class, or in general?"
She asked.
She wanted to know out of curiosity what he could do with that information.
"You can answer whichever one you want."
He answered.
"Then history and beastology."
She answered.
Danny grinned confidently.
He could already guess what her question was.
If she were teaching history, he would have listened to her out of spite, just to correct her for her mistakes.
But if it was beastology, then he didn't care enough to bother.
"Was your question about demon beasts of canine or feline origins?"
He asked.
There were many other types of demon beasts, but a teacher wouldn't ask about them in their first class.
"C-canine."
She stuttered.
How did he know?!
Anger welled up inside of her, but she couldn't show it.
"So, can you answer my question?"
She asked.
"Hell Hounds are a species of demon beast canines created by demons who brought wolves with them to Hell and did... indecent thing with them. They have two gazelle-like horns sprouting from each of their two heads and can vomit fire."
Danny answered, and many students in the class sighed.
'Of course, he knew the answer. Teachers should stop challenging him. It's not entertaining anymore.'
These were only a small few of the thoughts going through the heads of the majority of the class.
Along with these thoughts were also thoughts like:
'Why is our teacher so old and ugly?!'
'Why can't we have a sexy teacher?!'
'Woo, she looks good.'
That last thought was about a female student.
Not to worry, but not a single student thought that the soggy bag of bones who taught their class this lesson was good-looking.
Ms. Ninimma was shocked.
How did he know? If he already knew this much, what did he have to learn?!
She didn't know what to say or do.
Mr. Hades's "prodigy" was the real deal!
Does this mean she was just a bad teacher?
No way... He must have cheated!
"You cheated. Pack your things and go to the principal's office."
She said with a smug expression.
He thought he could make a fool of her?! Nice try, but she still held all the power.
Danny packed all things with magic resembling telekinesis without even a chant, and she was taken aback once more.
Chant-less magic? What type of magic item was he using?!
On his way out, Danny laughed and couldn't even be bothered to hide his amusement.
"Well, this was the expected result."
He said while cracking up.
"I hope all of you have a nice class."
He said to the other students and left the class.
