While buttoning his shirt, he looked through the mirror at the ōkatana leaning by the wall.
"Should I take it with me today?"
The Oni Clan's heir asked his closest confidant.
A seemingly ordinary Akita who lay on the bed and watched his master lifted his head slightly.
"Why not?"
The dog said.
He looked at his master with a bewildered expression.
Momotaro had black hair, brown eyes, and horns. He wore the school's black suit with a red tie uniform.
"People hate me here enough, already. I can't just go around with a weapon. They'll think I'm provoking them."
Momotaro answered his old ally.
They met each other a few hundred years ago in the mortal realm. Momotaro was still a young man traveling around Japan with his animalistic allies, the monkey, the dog, and the pheasant, on the hunt for the oni demons that kidnapped his father.
Back then, Momotaro didn't know that this ally, his trusted talking dog, was a rather famous elderly demon.
Through the cycle of reincarnation, Momotaro has been reborn as the heir to the same Oni Clan he hunted. His only trustworthy allies through this mess were his father, who was the clan's current head, and this talking Akita, whom he already knew during his mortal life.
"Are you capable of defeating others in a fight?"
The Akita lifted his eyebrow.
"I think so..."
Momotaro wasn't sure where this answer was going.
"And if you had your sword?"
The dog looked at him, and Momotaro had an enlightened expression.
"It would be way easier to win using it."
Momotaro said confidently.
"Then take it with you, my boy."
The Akita chuckled.
The Oni Clan appreciated strength. This was one of the core reasons why the majority of the clan didn't complain about Momotaro being the heir. He was the one who defeated them in the past, so he was certainly strong.
And they definitely would not complain if their heir proved his superiority by winning a street fight.
Momotaro finished getting ready, grabbed the sword, and left the house on his way to school.
Momotaro's father told him that there was a rumor going around about the demon lord, Satan, quitting his job and finding an heir.
Momotaro didn't know how true that rumor was, but regardless of its accuracy, there had been another student he wanted to speak with for a while now.

On his way to school, Danny saw Momotaro and was surprised.
"You walk to school?"
The white-haired student said with surprise.
"So do you."
Momotaro answered with a somewhat stoic tone.
He thought this vermin was familiar but couldn't remember from where.
They had the same uniform, so he must've been a nobody from school.
"Yes, but I'm a low-level demon, not a clan heir."
Danny replied.
'A low-level demon, and is still talking to me in such an informal way...'
Momotaro was annoyed by this disrespect.
"Are you here to pick a fight with me because I'm a reincarnate?"
Momotaro asked with an angry growl.
"No, nothing like that. I'm half-human, myself. But if you don't wanna talk, I'll pick up the pace."
Danny looked like he shrugged the situation off and walked ahead.
Momotaro caught a glimpse of Danny's eyes, and a chill went down his spine...
'Wait! He has spine-chilling purple eyes and white hair, is half-human, and talks confidently with high-level demons regardless of his own level... Is this him?!'
Momotaro was shocked this person was the student he wanted to talk with, Daniel.

When he reached the gate, Dany saw Marcuse and sighed.
"What's up?"
Marcuse asked.
"I think I found who I'll support if YOUR father doesn't beg for my forgiveness."
Danny answered apologetically.
"I don't like it, but good for you. Tell me how it goes. Notify me about your plans..."
Marcuse wanted to keep going, but Danny's face made it clear he had already understood the joke, so Marcuse laughed.
"Hi..."
Danny saw a red-haired figure passing by them and speaking quietly.
Mira was probably embarrassed. They hadn't had the opportunity to talk yesterday, and now, she didn't know if he would break his promise.
"Thank you for inviting me to dinner. It was nice."
Danny said to her, and she reddened.
"You ate at Mira's?"
Marcuse was surprised.
"Yeah, we coincidentally met after I left you with the Archfiend."
Danny said nonchalantly.
The Archfiend is one of the names of Satan. It means the great wicked. It's a name created and used by people who aren't Satan's biggest fans, to say the least.
Mira brightened up. Just now, he had the perfect opportunity to share her secret, but he didn't. This made it clear she had nothing to be embarrassed about.
Danny saw Chaos alone, watching the gate from afar, and left his two friends.
"What's up?"
Danny greeted him.
"Wasn't it you who said we should act as rivals at the closest?"
The student, who had chaotic energy swirling around his body, said in surprise.
"Are you forced to support your cousin?"
Danny asked Chaos. He ignored the question.
"No. You already know my family doesn't want me to be important because I might overshadow that morone."
Chaos answered.
"Are they going to nominate him with only the support of his family and not any specific name?"
Danny was surprised.
"No. They already requested General Atlas to publicize his endorsement, though he seems reluctant."
Chaos said, and Danny was amazed by the strength of such a major clan.
Atlas was a member of the Greek Clan, but this held no importance. The impressive part was that the renowned hero, gifted with command over the Greek Clan's army, could be commanded shamelessly and without repercussions.
"Then, as soon as I find who I want to support, join me."
Danny said and put his hand forward.
Chaos shook his hand and smiled.
"I already joined you back then."
Danny remembered the day they first met and felt as if he was only now beginning to progress.
