As Blake boarded the jet, his heart was a mixture of relief, concern, and determination. The events of the past hours had been a rollercoaster of emotions, and now all he wanted was to have Marie in his arms. As Blake settled into his seat, his thoughts were consumed by Marie. Blake wanted to know what had happened to drive Marie away from him.
Beside him, Steve's presence was a silent source of support. the events of the night causing Steve to fall fast asleep.
As the jet's engines roared to life, the world outside began to blur as they accelerated down the runway. the flight was only short but the minutes passed like hours, each one bringing them closer to their destination. Blake's thoughts were a whirlwind and his chest a ball of anxiety.
Finally, the jet touched down at the hospital. The doors opened, and Blake emerged, his steps filled with a sense of urgency and purpose. He made his way through the hospital corridors, his senses attuned to the task at hand.
The sight of Doctor Michael waiting brought a mix of reassurance and anticipation. Blake's gaze met the doctor's, his gratitude evident as he spoke. "Where is she? How is she doing?"
Doctor Michael's response was measured, his professionalism shining through even in this moment of heightened emotion. "She's stable now. The injuries weren't life-threatening, but she went through quite an ordeal. She's resting."
With a nod, Blake followed Doctor Michael to the room where Marie was recovering. The sight of her lying there brought a mixture of relief and heartache. She looked vulnerable and fragile. Blake dragged his eyes over her body and saw all of the bandages and stitched up wounds. Anger bubbled away in the pit of his stomach. He made a silent vow to ensure whoever was responsible for inflicting this pain on his love would be punished with full force.
Gently taking a seat beside her, Blake's fingers brushed against her hand, his touch light and reassuring. He watched as she slept, his heart filled with a deep sense of tenderness and protectiveness.
As Marie's eyes fluttered open, the room came into focus, and the sight before her filled her heart with a mix of surprise and comfort. Blake sat by her bedside his hand holding hers. Their eyes met, and in that moment, a flood of emotions flooded between them both. Marie's lips curved into a weak smile, her voice barely above a whisper.
"Blake..."
His name was a breath, a whisper that held a depth of emotion. Blake's own smile was filled with warmth as he leaned in slightly, his gaze locked with hers. "Hey, you're awake."
Marie's voice was soft, "You're here."
He nodded, his fingers instinctively reaching out to gently brush a strand of hair from her face. "I'm here, Marie. I wouldn't be anywhere else"
the emotion became to much for Marie and tears threatened to spill from her eyes. "I am so sorry, This is all my fault" Blake stood from his chair and climbed into the bed and pulled Marie in to his warm grasp. She lowered her head into his chest and let the emotion flow through her.
"I.. am... sorry...I... ran... away" Her words came out broken as she continued to cry. "I was so scared, I thought they were right, I thought you would see how useless I am and reject me"
Blake pulled her in closer and tightened his grip around her. "I would never reject you Marie. I love you. I have been so scared, I thought I had lost you"
Marie blinked through the tears at Blake as the enormity of his words hit her. " you love me?"
"Of course I do baby. From the moment I laid eyes on you"
Marie stretched up to kiss Blake but winced in pain as she felt her wounds twist with her movements. Blake instead leant down and placed a soft gentle kiss on her lips.
"I love you too" She whispered back.
they both settled into each others embrace and silence fell upon the room. For the first time in the last few hours Blake relaxed and fell asleep with his love in his arms.
Blake's eyes fluttered open, his gaze immediately finding Marie beside him. A small smile graced his lips as he watched her sleep. Gently, he shifted, his fingers brushing a loose strand of hair away from her face. His touch was light. As Marie's eyes slowly opened, their gazes met, and the warmth of their connection filled the space between them.
"Hey," he whispered, his voice a soft murmur.
Marie's lips curved into a sleepy smile as she met his gaze. "Hey."
Blake's expression was a mixture of concern and determination as he spoke. "How are you feeling?"
Marie shifted slightly, a small wince crossing her features as she settled against the pillows. "Sore, but better."
He nodded, his fingers tracing soothing circles on her hand. "Are you ready to return to home? I will have my doctors on hand for anything you need"
"Blake, I cant...." Marie panicked.
"Baby please, I know something awful happened and I want...no I need you to tell me what and I promise you I will deal with them myself, but I need you to come home"
Marie looked at Blake and saw the love in his eyes. She knew she was wrong to run and not seek help from him. She loved him. Marie found a new resolve and in the silence of her own mind she made a promise that moving forward she would not be controlled by here fears and would give herself to Blake. After all he had done nothing but prove to Marie how much he wanted her.
"Okay, Lets go" Marie smiled.
"Thank you baby. I love you" He returned her smile. "I will go and talk to the Doctors and sign the paperwork to get us out of here" with that Blake slipped out the room leaving Marie on her own.
Marie slowly climbed down off the bed and grabbed the pile of fresh clean clothes that had been placed on the end of her bed. She pulled off her hospital gown and slipped on the jogger and jumper. The clothes were soft soft against her skin she could help but snuggle into them for a second.
Blake returned a few minutes later with a box of medicine and pile of paperwork in his hand. "all sorted. The jet is ready to go if you are?" Blake looked at Marie eagerly hoping that in the small amount of time he had left the room she had not changed her mind.
"I am ready, let's go home" Marie smiled at Blake.
Blake took Marie by her hand and led her out of the hospital room and down the corridor towards their lift home.
