Chereads / Maid To Bea / Chapter 24 - 24

Chapter 24 - 24

I woke up the next morning to voices arguing, yells followed and suddenly, there was silence.

Can't I just wake to the calm of morning, the beauty that followed? Rather than spew of words every now and then.

Oh, yes. How could I forget?  I was in the Williams mansion after all. This was what one would wake up to—Ruckus.

Making my way downstairs into the living room, I found the whole family sat there, excluding Mr Williams.

Perhaps he had gone to work.

Present there was also Miss Tara, with Arabella stood right beside her. Their gazes focused on Mrs Williams.

They all turned to me the moment I walked in, every eye accessing my figure.

Mrs Williams looked like she wanted to say something to me, yet she didn't.

Muttering a word of greetings to her, I then proceeded to the corner of the living room, unsure of what to do.

"Tara, I'm sure by now, your daughter has told you what's going on" The voice of Mrs Williams broke the silence in the room.

Miss Tara at once have a nod to the lady's words. Meanwhile, Logan remained afar, jaw tightening as he peered on.

"I am more than ashamed of it" Mrs Williams uttered.

"After all I've done for you and your daughter, Tara. The way you guys repaid me was by letting your daughter have a 'thing' with my son"

I turned to look at Logan, his head was bent low.

"I wasn't aware of it ma'am. Trust me, if I was, I honestly would have done something about it" Miss Tara said

"How dare you?!" Mrs Williams yelled, getting up her feet, moving closer to Arabella.

Logan at once brought his gaze up, at the sound of his mother's voice.

"I treated you like a daughter, catered for you. Of all the maids, I loved your mom the best, and this is how you could repay me?" Mrs Williams said to Arabella.

The girl looked up, tears had filled her eyes already.

Part of me wanted to just go over there, and wrap her in a hug.

A girl like her doesn't deserve any of this. She was just too sweet..

"Ma'am, I promise it won't happen again"

"Of course it won't."

"I've made sure it won't ever happen again" Mrs Williams declared

A weak sigh escaped the lips of Ms Tara, eyes peering on at the figure of Mrs Williams.

"I'm firing you to make sure it won't ever happen again"

The bomb dropped.

The eyes of Ms Tara gaped in shock, lips parting slowly, gaze resting onwards at Mrs Williams.

My eyes narrowed the instant the words left her lips.

Mrs Williams was firing Ms Tara?

Tears rushed to the eyes of Arabella at once, arms placed together over her chest.

"Mom, what are you doing?"  Logan stepped forward, advancing towards his mother.

"I want you to be quiet, Logan"

"No"

"How can you fire someone who has worked with you for years all because of a mistake" He yelped.

"Are you pleading for Tara here just so you could spend more time with her daughter?" Mrs Williams questioned.

"You can't do this" Logan spoke.

"I have done exactly that" Mrs Williams stated.

She turned her gaze to Ms Tara, peering at her.

"I want you to leave immediately, and don't ever think of returning" She stated

Arabella at once went down on her knees, tears dropping from her eyes.

"Please ma'am, don't do this" Her voice croaked

"I'm sorry"

Logan's eyes fell on her figure immediately, his gaze softening the instant he heard her voice.

"I want the both of you out of here.....now!" Mrs Williams called, turning to leave, but was blocked by a figure standing right in front of her, halting her in her tracks—Logan.

"Have you lost your manners?" Mrs Williams bellowed. "Get out of my way!" She snapped.

"Mom, think about what you're doing" He rushed his words, peering into her eyes.

"There's nothing to think about" Mrs Williams responded at once, moving past his figure, Proceeding towards the stairs.

"If you fire her, I'll leave"

The words which tumbled out of Logan's mouth suddenly got her to an abrupt stop. Figure turning around slowly. her eyes peering on at him with disbelief rested in there.

At once, David began wailing, pushing his body closer to Ashley who in turn hugged him closely, as she tried to comfort him.

"Shhh, he's not leaving" Ashley whispered, rocking his body gently.

"Logan Drew Williams!" Mrs Williams called, eyes widened.

"Are you out of your mind?!" She yelled so loud, David scooted even closer to ashley, at the sound of her voice.

"I'm not kidding mom, I'll leave" Logan pronounced.

Tyler at once got to his feet, gase focused on Logan.

"You're not serious, Are you?" He muttered .

"I am being serious" Logan responded in a firm voice.

"What?"

"You can't...."

"Let him be. If he wishes to leave, the door's right there" Mrs Williams spoke at once.

"Mom!" Tyler exclaimed, eyes turning to her figure.

"You can't let him leave" He said to her.

"He's made the choice" Mrs Williams began.

"He's decided to leave his home, his family all because of a common girl"

"Don't talk about her that way!" Logan yelled at once.

"How dare you raise your voice at me?!" Mrs Williams thundered, eyes staring at Logan in shock.

The whole room fell silent, every gaze shifting from Mrs Williams, and then back to Logan.

A voice from nowhere suddenly spoke, breaking the tension filling the room.

"I'll leave, ma'am. Just like you asked me to."

"I've worked with this family for years now, it hurts me so much to see that my daughter's the cause of this dispute."

"we'll leave immediately, so we won't cause any more quarrels in this family"

Miss Tara moved over to Arabella, helped her off her knees. She then turned to look at Mrs williams, sadness resting in her eyes.

"Thank you so much for everything" She uttered in a low voice, right before they both proceeded towards the door.

Just as they were about stepping out, Logan hurried over, holding Arabella's hands in his.

His gaze remained fixed in hers, while he watched them with intent. In a brief moment, he crashed his lips against hers, pulling her body closer to his.

Mrs Williams soon turned around, walking away in anger, the sound of her heels clicking, while she stormed off.

My eyes slowly found its way to Cameron, gaze peering at him, taking notice of his expressionless face. There was no emotion whatsoever on his face.

In fact, he looked uninterested.

He looked up suddenly, and just then our eyes met.

Turning my gaze away at once, I swallowed hard.

I'd decided to avoid him at all cost, after what happened last night at the party.

Arabella and Logan soon stopped kissing, staring at each other. A smile lingered on the girl's lips, eyes beholding his, not wanting to let go.

She muttered something in a low voice to him, and afterwards, she turned to leave with her mom.

"Arabella" I called her name softly, going over to her.

On getting to where she was, I crashed her Ito a hug, my arms wrapping around her while she hugged me back.

"I figure you needed a hug. A warm hug" I whispered.

Her lips slowly curled into a smile.

Even after what just happened, she still held the most beautiful smile I'd ever seen.

"Thank you" She said to me.

Miss Tara at once held onto Arabella's hands, leading her out of the house.

Logan soon turned around, walking upstairs without saying a word to anyone. Ashley then stood up, proceedings up the stairs with David right by her side.

Derrick and Dylan followed behind.

I turned around at once hurrying into the kitchen to begin a day already started with confusion.
