Chereads / Maid To Bea / Chapter 30 - 30

Chapter 30 - 30

"Nia!"

"Nia!"

"Nia!"

The voice of Mrs Williams snapped me out of the position I was crouched in, as she called my name from the living room.

At once, I dropped the duster held in my hands, hurrying out of the room where I was.

Mrs Williams was elegantly dressed in a white sequined blouse and Black pants. Her hands brushed through her hair, while her eyes stared on at a small mirror held in her grip.

She looked decent enough.

Logan was sat on the couch, eyes focused on the T.V screen.

Mr Williams soon walked into the room followed by Tyler, Ashley and Cameron.

He turned his gaze to his wife, who was by the corner of the living room applying makeup.

"Honey, you should have done this in the room" He uttered, having a glance at his wrist watch.

"Can we leave now?" Mr Williams spoke in a low voice.

"Just give me a moment" Followed the response of Mrs Williams.

"Dad" Tyler called, turning to Mr Williams.

"Should we go on with the invitations?" He questioned.

"What invitations?" Mrs Williams called from where she was.

I moved closer to her, about to ask why she summoned me. Instead, she raised her palms up, telling me to be quiet.

Giving a nod, I stood aside, waiting for her.

"The invitations for our birthday party" Tyler announced.

"We told you we were gonna throw a birthday party" He added.

Logan at once got up from the couch, moving towards the figure of Tyler.

"We're gonna par-tay!!" He did a little dance, exclaiming, while bumping fists with his twin.

Meanwhile, Mr Williams stared on at the two, eyes watching their figures.

"Sure! Just as long as you end the party on time"  He spoke.

"Of course, dad" Tyler responded, eyes lighting up.

"And you'll clean up afterwards" Mr Williams added.

"But that's why the maids are here" I heard Tyler said my

There was a burning silence, as everyone turned to my figure, while I remained by the corner.

I noticed Cameron's gaze turn to me as soon as the words rolled out of Tyler's lips.

"Thanks for reminding me, Tyler" Mrs Williams exclaimed.

I was more than glad she spoke at that time.

"I would like you to go grocery shopping, Nia" She spoke to me.

"Cameron will drive you to the supermarket" She added.

At once I turned to his figure, noticing the corners of his eyes broadening at his Mom's utterance.

"I'm not taking her to the supermarket" He uttered immediately.

"You have to" Mrs Williams said.

"Why can't Logan or Tyler?" I heard him say.

"Cause we'll be making preparations for our birthday party" Logan spoke.

"Mom, I can't..." Cameron began, but was soon cut off midwords.

"Your dad and I got that car for you, therefore we tell you what to do with it" Mrs Williams uttered in a raised voice, her eyes focused on his figure.

"Can't wait to be able to do just whatever I want" He grumbled, advancing towards the door, he took a pause after realising I wasn't tagging along, turning to look at me.

"Can we leave, already?" He blurted.

Avoiding his gaze, I began moving towards the door, following right behind his figure.

"Cameron's with my credit card" I heard Mrs Williams call out to me, while I proceeded out of

the house, ready to begin a journey I didn't plan for.

The drive to the supermarket was a long one.

Neither of us said anything to each other.

His eyes were focused on the road while he sped off.

I'm pretty sure by now, he had exceeded the speed limit.

Sneaking a glance at him while he drove, I noticed how his jaw tightened, his gaze boring onwards.

We arrived at the supermarket after a short while, and the instant the car came to a halt, I unbuckled the seatbelt, hurrying out, while he remained in the car, not bothering to look my way.

"Aren't you going in with me?" I didn't realise I had spoken out of nowhere.

"No" He replied.

"I don't want any one from school seeing me here, picking out groceries" He added

His words caused a low chuckle escaping my lips as I thought of it. Cameron Williams picking groceries. Now, that would be a wonderful sight to behold.

"I'm gonna need your help in there" I stated in a low voice, my eyes watching his figure.

It took a long minute for him finally getting out of the car, after much hesitation. His figure remained right behind mine as we entered the large supermarket.

"Could you please be fast?" His voice filled my ears, while I was over at a section, picking out a range of groceries.

"I would be, if you could at least help me" I retorted, placing the items in a cart.

He said nothing more, but just moved to the far end of the Supermarket, watching me from over there.

A voice from nowhere suddenly called my name, and the instant I spun around, I found Arabella feet away, her eyes focused on my figure, while a smile crawled up her lips.

She hurried over at once, wrapping her arms around my body, letting out a sigh in the moment of hug.

"Nia"

"What are you doing here?" She questioned.

"Grocery shopping" I responded, returning her smile.

Her gaze soon shifted to the figure of Cameron stood at a corner, and then back at me.

"Oh" She mouthed

"He's here with you"

I smacked my lips together, looking at her.

"So how's everyone? The maids and the rest" She asked immediately.

"They're all fine" I uttered, letting out a sigh.

"By the way, Logan and Tyler are having a birthday party tomorrow....You should come" I announced

At once, her smile faded.

"I know it's his birthday" She began.

"It's just that Logan and I cut things off right after Mrs Williams fired my mom" She uttered in a low voice.

"That doesn't mean you shouldn't come over and say 'Hi' to him" I spoke.

"Mrs Williams would be furious if she sees me"

"C'mon....." I drawled

"You never know when you guys might see again, why not give it a chance"

"Besides, I don't think Mr and Mrs Williams will be around"

She fell quiet, eyes boring into mine.

"I'll try being there, Nia" She assured me.

"I'll be expecting you" I muttered, while crashing her into a hug.

"Nia, we have to leave" I heard Cameron's voice, as he walked up to us, his gaze focused on me.

Bidding Goodbye to Arabella, I followed him behind, while he paid for the groceries.
