Deeper Inside the Cave
*sniff sniff*
"Ya smell that?"
*sniff sniff*
"Shit!! What the hell are they doing?! Come on!!"
The two bodyguards of the bandit leader quickly ran towards the smell of smoke. The two couldn't believe how stupid the others were. Someone, somehow, started a fire inside the cave like a dumbass. Didn't they understand what would happen to them?
The two bodyguards ran as fast as they could, following the twist and turns of the cave. Soon they reached one of the dug out rooms that they had created.
"No! The drugs! Those just came in! Hurry! We need to put it out! The boss will kill us!"
The two guards swiftly moved into action. The guards threw their swords down and tried to put the fire out.
"Water Pulse!"
The two guards shot out waves of water from their hands. It took them five minutes before the fire completely died out. Once they were done, they both sat down, exhausted from using up all their mana.
One of them let out a sigh of relief as he turned to his partner.
"Thank god we finished, now we can.-"
Before he could finish, he cut himself off. When he turned to his partner, he saw that he had turned to a mummified corpse. That freaked him out but what scared him even more was the new person standing there.
Roman.
Before the guard could defend himself, Roman reached out and touched his face. The guard suddenly felt his body weaken even more and he even felt as if his life force was leaving him.
He tried reaching out. He tried to claw at Roman's face. He did anything he could to stop him. Sadly, everything was in vain. Seconds later, the guard also shriveled up and died.

"Hmm. I gained a character level after using Beelzebub."
After I set up a trap for the two bodyguards, I decided to try absorbing their life force to see how it worked.
It would seem that every time I attempted to use the Beelzebub ability, I would use 50 mana. I decided to rest up for just a few minutes and try to recover all the mana.
I check my character attributes to see what had changed.
Character Name: Romeo
Registered Name: Roman
Character Level: 7 (+1)
* 2000 xp until the next level
HP: 276 (+10)
MP: 600 (+100)
Attack: 198 (+10)
Stamina: 260 (+30)
Defense: 130 (+5)
Agility: 200 (+40)
Boosts: +100 to all attributes (Ring of Deus). Double XP (Ring of Deus)
I also checked the character activity to see if it showed how the XP was distributed. It seemed that most of the xp I gained from the two body guards went towards my character level while a little bit of it went towards my attributes.
"I'll rest for a bit. Once I feel better, I will confront the bandit leader myself."
My MP currently says 500/600. It seemed like my mana hadn't even fully recovered after I took out the bandits outside the cave. Every time I used either the gravity manipulation or lightning manipulation, it would cost 10 mana but it would change depending on how powerful I wanted the attack to be.
I go ahead and sit down.
"Only a few minutes then I'll be done."

Gerald V.
That was the name the bandit leader went by. Of course, that wasn't his real name. He didn't remember his real name.
Gerald was kidnapped from his orphanage and sold into slavery. For 10 years, he worked as a miner. From the age of 10 to 20, all he knew was how to swing a pick axe. It was just a few years ago when a man with a blue mask appeared near his work area.
The man killed the people that enslaved him. He flew through the air, swinging his ring-sword and easily slaughtering every single one of them. He then lined up all the slave workers and told them one simple thing.
"If anyone else finds it too difficult live on, finish it yourself. I can not make that choice for you."
He took out a beautiful dagger and was ready to hand it to any of those who wanted to die. But when he looked up, he saw the fire in their eyes. The need to keep on living. The man then nods in understanding and hands the dagger to Gerald.
"You lead them now."
Gerald and the others never saw him again. Even if they never did again, the group planned to return the favor. They plan to steal from the rich and then one day, give the masked man, the money they earned.
This is how the bandit group started. This was how the bandit group came to be.
-
Gerald woke up from his nap. He instinctively reached for his dagger and slashed out. A dark figure moved and jumped back.
Gerald didn't slow down. He immediately jumped off his bed and gave chase. He slashed at the enemy, aiming to kill him in one go.
He managed to slice at the enemy's face. The trail of blood followed his dagger as he drew it back in.
"Tch. So damn fast."
The man that got slashed quickly recovered and drank a HP potion he had found.
It was Roman.
"For a bandit, you sure are fast and agile."
The bandit wiped the blood off of his dagger. He then faced Roman and unleashed his killing intent. Roman actually staggered back a bit.
"You're fast too. For someone so weak."
Roman realized that Gerald must have checked his level. Roman activated his Vision skill and looked at the bandit leader.
Name: Gerald V. (Bandit Leader)
Character Level: 10
His name was glowing red. It was indicating to Roman that Gerald would be a tough fight.
'Shit. I thought he would at least be level 9. This is going to be a tough fight since I'm all alone.'
Roman decides to fight with his Vision skill activated. He sees a lot of xp start dropping from the corner of his eye but he ignores it. Gerald takes out a bottle and Roman squints at it to get a good look. A small description of it appears.
"Bottle of Budew. A rather weak poison but effective if inflicted on an opponent during battle."
Gerald then opens the bottle and dips the dagger into it. He then puts the bottle away and faces Roman again.
"It seems like everyone is dead. There's no way that you could get pass all of the guards. Even if you somehow did, getting passed my personal guards should be impossible. If I had to guess, you took everyone by surprise and killed them when they weren't expecting it."
Roman was genuinely surprised. The bandit leader figured out exactly what he did. Roman takes out the sword he took from the guard out. He has his lighting and gravity on stand by, ready to activate it if he needs the extra help.
'He shouldn't know my abilities since I only attacked with the sword.'
"You're right. There was no other way I could take on all those people in a head on conflict. I had to do what I must to get to you."
Gerald nods as he understands Roman.
"Why are you attacking us? Is it for our bounty? Do you seek vengeance? Have we played with your mother or sister? Have we killed your father?"
Roman would consider himself brave but when he heard Gerald, he felt a chill down his spine. For some reason, he felt a strong sense of danger.
"Has other people attack you for those reasons?"
Gerald chuckles.
"Those are the usual reasons. It didn't matter in the end, they all met the same fate."
Gerald then walks out into the open, the torch that hung on the wall finally illuminated his face. He had flaming red hair with his face, littered in scars. His most notable feature were his thick red eyebrows that somehow seemed to make him look even more menacing.
While Roman was getting a good look at his face, Gerald draws out another dagger. A beautiful dagger with a golden hilt. The hilt had a emerald jewel embedded on the butt of it.
The dagger caught Roman's attention.
"Beautiful dagger."
Gerald waves the dagger around.
"It was given to me by my hero. I cherished it greatly. For nearly 5 years, I fought with it. I recently decided to retire this old thing."
Before Roman could say anything, Gerald kept speaking.
"Enough talk. I assume you aren't here seeking vengeance since you're so calm. If you want my loot, you need to pry it from my cold dead hands."
Gerald ran forward, he threw the golden dagger at Roman. Roman used his sword to deflect the attack. He then brought the sword down right in front of him, sensing that Gerald would be there.
However, it would seem that Gerald was faster.
He saw the sword come down and he stepped back. The sword missed and Gerald was safe. He then jumps onto Roman's left and he then strikes at his left hand.
Roman couldn't move fast enough and the dagger ended up cutting his left hand. Roman quickly checks the cut but sees that it wasn't that deep. He thought he was in the clear but he suddenly saw a warning appear.
'Warning! Player 'Romeo' has been inflicted with Budew. For the remainder of the fight, Player 'Romeo' will have the "slow" effect. You will also lose 1 HP for every minute that passes.'
