Right as I heard what Gerald said, I felt my heart freeze. It was a Legacy that contained many poison skills.
I tried moving back but it was to late. I should have realized it sooner. The cave started to get foggy. I could feel a breeze brush pass me. My body once again stiffens up. I slowly stop moving and end up standing still as a statue.
"WARNING! Player 'Romeo' has been-."
'Yeah I fucken know! Damn it!'
I really was careless. I didn't expect a small bandit to have two Legacies with him.
As I try to think of a way to get out of this. Gerald slowly sits up and looks at me with a grin. I use my Vision skill and saw his current issues.
"Status Effect: Deranged, Bloodthirsty, Crazed."
'Fuck!! That's not good!!'

Gerald POV
When I sat up and looked at Romeo, I saw that his arrogant smile and attitude had disappeared.
"HAHA, I like that change Romeo. You finally understand your place in this world!"
I wish I could of done this to that bastard. I wish I could have ripped off his mask and stomp all over his pride. Instead I'll do it to you Romeo!
Romeo just stood there, unable to move. HAHAHA, I had forgotten about that.
"Oh sorry. I forgot that my poison domain also affects your ability to talk too."
The Poison Storm domain covers a huge area so its great to have when you want to trap your enemies in a small space. It poisons them and even limits their mobility, so it's great if you want to set an ambush as well.
I take out my golden dagger, the dagger that the masked man gave to me. It's a perfect way to end this. I let Romeo see the dagger.
"This dagger was given to me. I loved it so much. I will kill you with it to prove to myself."
I saw his eyes widen when he heard what I said. I looked closely and I could see his body wiggling just a bit.
"Don't fight it to much boy. Since you decided to attack me first, I will take out my anger on you!"
I run at him. I want to cut him up slowly, that's the only way I would feel satisfied. But something happened.
"Master!!!"
A childish voice echos in my ear. I ended up stopping out of fear. The voice sounded childish but I felt a powerful force freeze me.
The emerald stone on the butt of the dagger hilt suddenly glows. I suddenly feel my Legacy be forcefully stopped.
The Poison Storm domain also cancelled. The color in Romeo's face returned. He slowly but surely begins to move.
'Fuck! I can't allow him to escape!'
As sad as I was, I couldn't torture him anymore. If he leaves this place alive then I won't be able to live my life in peace anymore.
I step forward and bring the dagger down, I was aiming to stab the dagger right through his neck.
"Just die dammit!"
The dagger was within inches of his neck when it just randomly disappeared from my hand. I was so confused. Romeo was also confused. I looked around to see if it might of been on the floor. But that was my mistake.

Roman POV
For some reason, Gerald stops moving when he was close to stabbing me. He looked scared?
But I didn't have time to think about it. I felt my strength return, the stiffness fading away. I tried my hardest to move.
As I wiggled and tried escaping, I heard feet shuffling quickly towards me. I look back up to see Gerald aiming his dagger towards my neck. I tried my hardest to dodge it but it wasn't possible. I brace myself for my first death.
BUT
It didn't happen. The dagger was inches from my neck when it suddenly disappeared from his hand. I was confused and he was as well. He was looking around as if he suddenly dropped it. I however, feel something in my right hand.
I look down and to my shock, the golden dagger was in my hand now. I don't even know how that was possible though. It didn't matter, I need to end this now while he isn't looking.
I raised the dagger and sliced through Gerald's neck, making sure that I hit one of his arteries.
Gerald reached for his neck to stop the bleeding. He looked at me as he did so. He tried to speak but all that came out was the sound of gargled blood.
He slumped down after his legs gave out. Not once did he break eye contact with me. His intense stare looked into my soul as he kept trying to speak.
'I guess… I'll never… get my revenge…'
"Oh? Voice Transmission?"
I unconsciously spoke out about his skill. Voice Transmission allows for one to speak into others minds. Who knew that this bandit would have so much in his arsenal.
Unfortunately, the bandit didn't answer me. He had already bled out and passed on.
I open up my quest log.
~One of One~
STATUS:COMPLETE
"I guess the ores are around here."
Before I begin my search, I might as well loot the dead man. I can look through his room and loot that as well.
-
*BOOM*
Finally, after trying over and over, I destroyed the chest holding all of Gerald's loot in his room. I quickly look through it and take all the valuables.
After about an hour, I gathered everything that I wanted. I open up my character activity log so I could look at my spoils.
+350k gold coins
+10 small bags of various precious gems
+3 sacks of various herbs
+2 sets of "Town Guard" armor (Beginner Rank)
+2 iron swords (Beginner Rank)
+50 various potions
Those were the more "normal" stuff I got. To my surprise, they had other stuff that was quite rare.
+10 Bone Fragments of the Elder Dragon
+4 Essences of the Blood Ogre
+2 full bags of monster cores (1 bag contains Beginner Rank cores while the other bag contains Intermediate Rank cores)
I believe the Bone Fragment could be used in the smithing process. However, I don't remember the exact details of it. I could ask Master Ark about it. The Essences of the Blood Ogre is used in potion making and could be turned into a strong aphrodisiac. The two bags of monster cores could be sold but I rather use them to increase my mana.
Finally, there was one last thing that I got.
+6 Mithril Ores
The ores that Master Ark wanted was in the bandit's vault. The legendary Mithril Ore. I don't know if I'll be able to make a sword myself with it but I can at least watch him make it.
I also have the two Legacies that Gerald used but I haven't looked at them yet. I wanted to read the description of the two once I learn the smithing skill.
I close up the log. I have one more place to look at before I head back to town.

As I approach the slave area, a heavy smell of blood was in the air.
"I hope someone lived."
I didn't forget about the slaves the bandits had. I did tell them to end it if they couldn't live on but I was secretly hoped that someone chose to live.
I peaked inside to see dozens of bodies on the floor. All of them remained unmoved as I walked in. A cold chill passes by. It was an eerie and creepy sight.
"Hello?"
I called out, hoping someone would answer me.
"Sir?"
Two weak voices belonging to children answered back to me. It was dark so I couldn't really see the two.
"Oh hi! Please, follow my voice!"
After a minute, two small kids with silver hair walked towards me. I recognized the boy. He was the one that almost got dragged away by that bandit before I came in.
"So you chose to live on?"
The boy just looks at me. His eyes no longer lifeless.
"I will get strong like you sir! I will protect me sister too!"
I look at the little girl and she hides behind her brother. She peaks at me from around his shoulders.
"That's good. Come back with me. I know a family that can help you two grow strong."
I take the sword from the boy and put it into my inventory. I pick up the two kids, leave the cave and head back to the town.
As I was heading back, the two kids didn't say much. They both just stayed quiet and took in the nature. It seems as if it has been a while since they've felt the sun.
They both held on tightly to my shirt, afraid to let go. Eventually though, the kids were comfortable enough to fall asleep. I readjusted myself, making sure the kids were safe. From there, I kicked it up a notch and traveled as fast as I could.

A/N: Eh. This entire chapter probably could have been better. I think I will introduce you guys to other players through Clem and Anna. That way you can see the average gamer that doesn't have any boost or knowledge. It's hard to do that with Roman since his aim isn't to play the game like a regular person would.
