Chereads / Rewriting Her Life / Chapter 6 - Enjoying Life

Chapter 6 - Enjoying Life

I woke up at 7 in the morning and realized I was running late. Our class was starting at 7:30. I hurriedly showered and borrowed my still sleeping sister's makeup to quickly fix myself up. Once I was done, I headed to the kitchen and grabbed some bread.

My mom saw me and was surprised, exclaiming, "Wow, what happened? You put some makeup. it's a miracle "

" well let's say that I'm gonna live my life to the fullest with no regret, and I'm starting it here" I replied while pointing at my face, well who would live a teenager life without taking care of their looks

" Yeah yeah, you're beautiful before, you just didn't show it" my mom said

"Yeah, We both inherited our beauty from you," I said laughing and quickly left the house to go to the bus station.

Unfortunately, I missed the bus I was supposed to take and had to wait for another one for about 10 minutes.

After the wait, the bus finally arrived. I got on and spotted Gray. I approached him and said, "You're late too. At least I'm not alone."

"Woah, what happened to you?" he asked.

"Why?" I asked.

"You put on makeup, and you look like a clown," he said.

"What?"

He chuckled and gestured for me to sit near the bus window. "I'm just kidding. You look pretty. By the way, did you finish the assignment?" he asked.

"Yeah, I stayed up late last night. I know our teacher can be strict about that," I grumbled.

"Why did you forget? It's the first time you've ever missed an assignment. Usually, you're the one reminding us," he pointed out.

"I've been distracted ever since we went there," I said.

"Maybe there were a witch there and put dark magic in you that made you lose yourself all the time," he jokily said.

"It wasn't a dark magic but, let's I came from the future and magically time travel her to correct my mistake," I said seriously, though he merely laughed it off.

"You don't believe in it, right?" I said.

" I believe what you said" He said seriously

" Really?" I ask

" In fact I tell you a secret" he lean to me and whisper " I'm not a human, I came from another planet " He said whispering

I punch his face

"Ouch, why did you punch me? We were just joking around," he said.

Yeah right, who would believe that I came from the future

"I'm just joking" I responded sarcastically, joining in the laughter.

"Oh, you remember what I mentioned in the beach? Are you going?" he inquired.

"Yes, but I'll take care of the contributions. I have some savings, and as for the gown, I'll have to swallow my pride and borrow it from your sister," I said, determined to make changes in my life.

"Okay, as long as I'm your prom date," he said, flashing a smile.

"Sure, what else can I do?" I replied

The bus stopped in front of our school, and as soon as we got off, we headed straight to the cafeteria.

We were late for our first subject, so we decided to stay in the cafeteria and wait for the next one. Gray ordered pancakes and hot coffee because he didn't eat at home, while I ordered coffee.

"It's a miracle you came with me here," he said.

"Well, we're already late anyway. What's the point of going to the first subject? We might even get punished by our teacher," I said.

I sipped my coffee and noticed that Gray seemed to be examining me.

"What?" I asked.

"There have been a lot of changes in you. You're putting on makeup now, and you don't care if you're absent in one subject," he said.

"I just want to enjoy my life. I want to experience the things you've experienced, not just waste my time studying. I realized that after we finish studying, we won't be able to do this anymore" I said.

"Tsk, for a second, I almost believe that you've time traveled here," he said.

I just laughed, and then we heard the bell, a sign that the first subject was over. So, we quickly went to our classroom.

Upon entering the classroom, I noticed Phoebe, Blake, Jane, and Kat. I took a seat between Phoebe and Kat.

(Blake) (Gray) (Jane)

(Kat) (Me) (Phoebe)

All eyes from my classmates were on me.

"Wow, is that Phoebe?" they asked.

I simply chuckled.

"My friend has become incredibly beautiful. You're now ranked as the second most beautiful in our group," Jane said.

"And I'm third," Phoebe added.

"Hey!" This led to an argument between them.

"You look so gorgeous, Em. You should embrace it," Kat complimented.

"I know," I responded confidently, laughing. Many of my classmates praised me, and I expressed gratitude towards them.

"Hey, we had a quiz earlier," Blake informed me.

"it's Okay, i make it up next time," I assured.

They were all taken aback by my words, and even my classmates stared at me as if they had seen a ghost. Phoebe and Jane, who were arguing before, paused.

Blake approached me and tapped my shoulder.

"Did I hear correctly?" he ask

"If you are indeed an evil spirit that has possessed Emily Cruz, leave now," and said this

I slapped his hand. "You're overreacting," I said to him. Before he could say anything, our teacher arrived for the second subject. But even as our teacher was teaching, I could still feel their stares.

We were now in the cafeteria, eating. But their eyes were still continued to examine me However, Gray stopped them.

"Stop it, guys. You're making Emily uncomfortable," he said.

"Who wouldn't stare at her? She doesn't seem like the Emily we know," Jane said.

"Yeah, the Emily we know would freak out if she missed a quiz or activity, and the Emily we know never liked wearing makeup. When I applied makeup on her before, she gave me a disapproving look," Phoebe said.

"Maybe Emily just wants to change. She wants to experience this, right, Em?" Kat said.

"Yeah, I want to experience this while I'm still young," I said.

"Well, she does have a point," Phoebe said.

Suddenly, Blake put me in a headlock and said,

"Weh? Are you really Emily and not an evil spirit?" Blake said.

"Y-yes," I said, struggling to breathe. When he let go of me, I punched him in the face.

"Ouch! Haha, it is you, Emily. You're punching," he said, and we all laughed.

"Hey, guys, about the masquerade ball next month, do you already have a date?" Phoebe asked.

"Yes, Blake is my date," Jane said.

"What?" Blake exclaimed.

"Don't overreact. I'm sure youre to lazy to ask someone so I'm volunteering myself" Jane said, and Blake stay quiet

"What about you, Emily? Are you going?" Kat asked.

"Yes, I have some savings for the contribution, and Gray's sister will design and make my gown for free, so don't worry," I said.

"Really, Gray's sister will make your gown?" Kat asked, amused.

"Yeah," Gray answered.

"Then let's have our gowns made by Gray's sister," Kat suggested.

"But didn't we already reserve with my aunt?" Jane said.

"We can just cancel that," Kat said.

"Nah, you guys should have your gowns made by Jane's aunt, my sister have many already reservation " Gray said.

"Okay," Kat said, but I overheard her saying, "But Emily can" maybe I just imagined it.

"Who's your prom date, Gray?" Phoebe asked.

"I already have someone," Gray replied and look at me, and they started teasing him.

by the way Phoebe's prom date is the basketball player from our school.

The bell rang, signaling the start of the third subject.
