Chapter 8 - Gray's sister

I woke up early and got ready. After getting ready, I went to the kitchen. When I arrived there, I saw a person talking to my mom.

"Oh, emily, someone has been waiting for you since earlier," my mom said, and when he turned to me, it was Gray.

"Hi, Em," Gray said.

"Hello, I thought we were supposed to meet at your sister's shop," I said and sat down, eating bread, he eats to.

"I'll leave you guys here for now. I still have some laundry to do,"my mom said teasingly. tsk I know what she's thinking

"I thought I should picked you up to save on transportation expenses, and my dad bought me I car yesterday, so I thought why should we test it" gray said

"Thank you, and congrats I know na gustong gusto mo na magkakotse" I replied and he just smile

"Oh, have you told Kat yet? If you haven't, maybe I should be the one to tell her," Gray said.

"No, I'll do it. I'll tell her on Monday. For now, I'm just looking for the courage," I said.

"Well, okay, I don't want to jump ahead of you because I know you don't want Kath to get angry with you," Gray said.

And I sigh, of course, it was only Kath who had the courage to be friends with me before. Who else would want to be friends with me? I'm just a nobody. And I don't want her to get mad at me

We finished eating and we said goodbye to my mom before leaving.

"Take care," my mom said.

"Okay, Aunt," Gray replied.

"Bye, Mom," I said as we walked out. Outside, I saw a car that looked newly bought.

"Wow," I exclaimed in awe.

As Gray and I approached the car, I couldn't help but admire its sleek design and shiny exterior.

"Is this your new car, Gray?" I asked, still amazed.

"Yeah it's a Ford Mustang"

"Hop in, let's go for a spin," Gray said, unlocking the car.

I hopped into the passenger seat, taking in the luxurious interior. The leather seats were incredibly comfortable, and the car smelled of that distinctive new-car scent.

As Gray started the engine, the car purred to life, and we glided smoothly out of the driveway. The radio played our favorite tunes, filling the car with an energetic vibe.

We arrived at her sister's shop. Her sister is Red Ricaford, a popular fashion designer. I had met her before at Gray's 16th birthday.

We entered the shop when suddenly someone shouted, "OMG! Yaaah!" It was Gray's sister. She approached us and hugged me.

"Oh my gosh, Emily, I miss you," Red said.

"Me too, hehehe," I awkwardly replied because I'm shy to her.

"Come inside my office. I'll be the one to take your measurements, and Gray, you can wait in the waiting room. I'll take care of it," she said, giving Gray a look.

"Okay, em I will wait for you her, so take your time" Gray and giving his sister a meaningful look.

We went to her office, and she showed me the designs she had made. She handed me three sketches.

"Just choose from those, Emily. I designed them just for you," Red said.

"Thank you, but you didn't have to go through the trouble. I'm fine with the gowns displayed over there," I said.

"Don't worry, Emily. I did it because you're special to my brother," she said, winking at me.

Huh? Does she have an eye problem? She's been winking since earlier. Oh well. I chose from her designs. The first one was beautiful, but too revealing. The second one was also nice, but it didn't suit me, and it had a slit on the side of the gown. When I saw the third one, it was gorgeous, and I picked it. It was a midnight black tulle gown that created a sense of mystique and intrigue. The tulle was delicately embroidered with tiny, twinkling stars, as if the night sky had been captured and woven into the fabric.

As I admired the stunning gown I had chosen, Red's excitement filled the room. She clapped her hands together and exclaimed, "Emily, you have impeccable taste! That gown will make you look like a true star!"

Blushing at her compliment, I replied, "Thank you, Red. I'm really grateful for your talent and generosity."

Red grinned and motioned for me to follow her. We walked over to a nearby fitting area, where a she and a team of skilled seamstresses stood ready to bring her designs to life. They measured me meticulously, ensuring a perfect fit for the gown.

While they were taking my measurements, Red suddenly asked about his brother.

"So what do you think of my brother, Em?" Red asked with a teasing smile.

"Uhm, he's a great friend of mine and..." I started thinking.

"And?"

"And he always helps us when we have problems and he's always there to comfort us," I said.

"Tsk, the opposite of what he shows to me. Is he like that with everyone?" she asked.

"Well, only among our group of friends. Maybe that's why Kath likes him," I said.

"Kath? Tsk, I don't like that girl. You know, she seems to have a hidden agenda. A friend of mine told me that Kath is a bully and only pretends to be nice," she said.

"No, Kath is not like that. I've known her since elementary school. She's always caring and sweet. She wouldn't bully anyone," I said.

"Well, maybe someone is tarnishing her reputation, but I still don't like her. She gives off vibes that I don't like," she said.

"Try to get to know her, Red, and you'll discover that she's really kind and caring," I said.

"Okay, I'll try. You know, we have a family dinner tomorrow, and Dad invited Kath's family," she said.

"Oh," I said.

"There, we're done,"s he said, and we left his office and went to Gray.

We said goodbye because Red had other things to do.

"Goodbye, Red, and thank you for the gown," I said.

"You're welcome. Just pick it up here in two weeks. And you guys should go to the nearby mall early for a movie premiere. I heard there are new movies coming out," she said.

"But-" I couldn't protest because she gave me two movie tickets.

"Goodbye and good luck, bro," she winked at Gray and went back into his office.

"So, let's go? The ticket will be wasted if we don't go," Gray said, sounding a bit nervous.

"Um, yeah, you're right, and it's also an opportunity for us to bond. It's just a shame that Phoebe, Jane, Kath, and Blake aren't here," I said.

"Yeah, maybe next time we can invite them, but for now, let's just enjoy ourselves," he said.

We got into his car and headed to the mall his sister mentioned.

Once we entered, we went straight to the cinema. Before going in, we bought popcorn and drinks. I volunteered to pay since he had already helped me a lot.

While I was buying, I saw someone calling him, and when he answered, he seemed angry and quickly ended the call.

After purchasing, I went in his direction and could tell by his expression that he was upset.

"Emily, I'm so sorry. There's an emergency at home, and I need to go," he said, with concern in his voice.

"Oh, Gray, it's okay. I should be the one apologizing for inconveniencing you," I said, reassuring him that it was fine.

"Come on, let me take you home," he said.

"No, I'm not going home yet. It would be a waste. Here, take the ticket and popcorn," I pointed out.

"Are you sure?" he asked, still worried.

"Yes, really, Gray. I can manage on my own. Goodbye," I said.

"Thank you for understanding, Emily, and I'll make it up to you," he said, and then he left.

Now what? Sigh. Can I finish these two popcorns and drinks by myself? I checked which movie I was going to watch, and it turned out to be a romantic one.

I was about to go inside when someone suddenly snatched one of my popcorns.

Turning around, it was Nicholas?

"Nicholas??"
